Pentatonix Avi Kaplan lowest chest note, and Scott, Mitch, Kirstie and Kevin show highest notes

- Avi hits a chest A1. Others hit their highest falsetto notes, but don't name what they are.
Turns out that Kevin has the highest note (!), and Scott can hit notes almost as high as Mitch (!!). Kirstie did approximately the same note as Scott and Mitch, it was hard to tell, but it was a cleaner note (though she seemed to lack confidence at going that high). She might be able to go higher if she pushed it.
Edit: As Axel below pointed out, Kirstie matched Kevin's note (which I agree with having listened again), and Axel believes it was an A5. It was definitely outside Kevin's usable range, but Kirstie's sounded pretty clean. So I would say Kirstie has the highest (head/falsetto) note, not that surprisingly. (Kirstie can do very high whistle notes, but those aren't normally counted as part of vocal range).

thepakman Whistle notes aren't usually counted in vocal range, they were talking about falsetto voice.
Kirstie, as a woman, strictly speaking, does not have a falsetto. Besides that she would still be able to hit a non-whistle note higher than the rest :P

Louis Cullen He can, in falsetto. Mitch's highest note in falsetto is G#5, Tim's is A5, whitch is one tone higher. Also, Mitch's whistle notes are fake. Trust me, I'm a Pentaholic.

I think he was just looking to anyone for a reference note, and Mitch was first in. Kevin is supposedly the one with perfect pitch, actually. But since they had just got through singing, Mitch still had a stable pitch in mind. I think it's harder for basses to keep a stable pitch. The note Mitch made was not an 'A', since Avi matched and went down three notes. I'm not sure what note Mitch did, it depends on what key he was singing. I was curious about that, too. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can say.
Actually, Kirstie sings A(A4) while then. She also has perfect pitch.

While Mitch has an astounding voice (as all of them do), I feel like people mis-interpret the high tenor voice. Sure, he can sing crazy high for a male, but the female voice will still be naturally higher 99% of the time.

very true, however my falsetto extends to a c6-d6 which is higher than most female singers i know. i’ve also had no official training. it depends how much energy you put into it, with time comes talent - that’s what i believe

That A5 sounded easy for Kirstie... I'm pretty sure she can go way higher than that. I hope that in future solo projects of her she can bless us with notes in the sixth octave, even if it's in the background.

He was right though? Mitch is a countertenor, and as such he sings most of his range in falsetto. He just trained it so it sounds like full voice.

It's funny that everyone argues about who can go highest....when technically, Avis' overtone notes are almost out of the range of human hearing!
Charles Small I happen to know that the intro to Aha! is Christus Factus est Pro Nobis by Bruckner (1884). It's not technically opera, but I doubt too many people complain. :) It goes well with Aha!.

I would love to learn Avi’s technique on low notes, although quiet and not really projected, they sound so pleasant and full, makes for a perfect Acapella bass
When you watch the video with a stereo speaker, you will be amazed how incredible Avi's low notes are. They can make everything vibrate.

I'm fucking late but no doubt about it, he hits notes like that pretty commonly without too much strain, and he can hit whistle notes so idk what he was doing here.

I would also like to know what their lowest notes are, though! :D I remember one day... what was it I did, it was like... I was singing Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey and I was able to sing down to that note she does at the end of the verse, "Kiss me hard before you go, Summertime Sadness" and I almost peed myself. xD I was so happy. I've been able to do it since now with practice (who would think it takes PRACTICE? lol) I would like to know what Kirstie can do!

This stumped me. Why didn't Mitch just hum A3? The only guess I have is they have songs in B, so Mitch hummed his 5th which is the F#3 he gave. Avi then finds his B2 and adjusts to the A2.

Your voice gets lower as you age, but what he's meaning is what he can comfortably hit and sound full. I'm sure he can hit lower than that in chest, but it would be weaker as he sang lower.

No, thats a double low A. Anything in the 1st octave, from the lowest C to an octave up is called low, like an E1, which is the first E, is a low E.

Mitch is way too humble he can go higher than that Kristin is the highest but she’s too humble as well
if i really force myself (im a bass so i mean REALLY force it) i can hit the same note but it hurts lol
