I loved this! It is exactly my aesthetic! I hadn't heard the term Bohemian Grandmacorp before but I think it's perfect! I'm 68 years old, grew up during the 1960s and early 1970s and thought hippies, East Indian inspired clothing and decor, vibrant colors alla psychdelia, the whole counter culture thing, were the coolest. This video has inspired me so much! Thank you!
OMG, I'm not sure how your channel popped into my queue, but I absolutely love this furniture. It's stunning and the ideas show designs that complement the intent of the furniture. Oh, my head is spinning with ideas now. Yes, this is definitely next level fabulous, so I had to subscribe.
When I discovered Dixie Bell chalk paint & IOD molds videos & products - this became my style. I'd always referred to it as colorful bohemia. The paint, molds, transfers, stencils and now paint transfers made it possible to upcycle simple plain wood furniture into ornate character filled pieces of art. It's an inexpensive hobby that doesn't require much natural artistic ability rather learn the techniques through watching videos. It's all about learning techniques! You'll find you can get the products from all kinds of sources which brings the prices down lower & lower. Temu is a great source for stencils & molds. Filling your molds using hot glue is another major money saver. Collecting hardware is an ongoing fun treasure hunt at thrift shops, yard sales, flea markets, etc. I've even learned how to make & tint my own chalk paint which saves a bundle if you get really into this. You'll also find people start begging you to sell your pieces. When I retired this is how a supplement my income. Fabric to reupholster I get from all sorts of sources - even old thin rugs. I stumbled across a collection of a large woman's brocade dresses that dated back to the 70's at an estate sale & picked them up for a song that were used to reupholster several pieces of furniture. It doesn't matter what the fabric was used or intended for. I also paint upholstered furniture! There truly is no limit to what you can do and if you're careful it's very inexpensive.
I also recreate furniture. MADE BY MARLEY is a furniture artist that you might also love. She uses Annie Sloan paint, her own decoupage paper (available on the website), stencils and IOD stamps and transfers.
Absolutely. Transforming furniture into art is a beautiful blend of creativity and craftsmanship. Colors and textures truly bring pieces to life! Thanks
It's interesting how everything has to be labeled or given a name of some sort. I'm 66 and this has been my "style" since i was a teenager. There are no new styles and putting a different name on things every few doesn't change it. Fashion and decor repeat with or without a designer thinking its new because they've given it a new name. For many of us we'd often buy items at garage sales and thrift shops and "fancy them up"😉 with paint, stencils etc. my bedroom was full of batik and brass, the rest of the room the bohemian look ran rampant. With 40+ years of travel trinkets gathered along the way were added. I've always been a lover of vibrant color.
This is REAL grandmacore - grannies all over the world (or at least here in Eastern Europe) seem to love bright colours! The brighter, the better, and they do not care about others' opinions! My grandmother used to paint everything bright orange and turquoise.
This is so true! Grandmacore at its finest! Bright colors really bring out that joyful, carefree vibe, and it’s amazing how grandmothers embrace it unapologetically. Your grandmother sounds awesome-orange and turquoise must have made everything feel so vibrant and full of life!

Now if only the older people who are enjoying this style could actually afford these items on their Social Security checks. Because, I don't know about other mature people but I am also disabled so I couldn't paint, etc, by myself.
waw.. cool.. It’s unfortunate that many older people who appreciate this style can’t afford these items on limited incomes like Social Security. For those who are also dealing with disabilities, it’s even more challenging since creating something similar themselves isn’t always an option. I hope there are programs or alternatives to make these items more accessible to everyone who loves and values them
Can we stop calling things "-core"? That's the sort of thing somebody says if they're trying to be relevant that instantly identifies them as not relevant....
Combining furniture that may have been in a grandmas's home with eclectic, vibrant patterns and colors to create a design that is vintage yet new and personal, to embrace the comfort of a cozy memory of yesteryear.
Thank you for your feedback! The term 'grandmacore' is actually a reference to a specific aesthetic inspired by cozy, traditional, and vintage styles often associated with grandmothers. It’s not meant to be sexist or ageist, but I appreciate your perspective and will keep it in mind moving forward!

Wow, this is totally my aesthetic! It may be because of being 70 years old, it calls to me. I am embracing my grandma style.
That’s wonderful! Grandma style is timeless and cozy, filled with charm and nostalgia. Embrace it fully-it’s uniquely yours and beautiful!

There's no such thing as Bohemian Grandma Core
Lovely images. Don’t know why the title says ‘grandmacore’. That’s sexist and agist btw.
Perhaps a tribute?
No one but you cares.
