Im now info dumping. My AU follows Tsumugi Shirogane/Somi Hinata and her struggles with self-image that she leans into entertainment for a personality. In pregame, she devotes years of her secondary school’s life to Danganronpa, before finally being able to direct and star in the virtual reality of Danganronpa. After all, the company doesn’t want to be sued. In postgame, Tsumugi has no recollection of Danganronpa and barely any recollection of her friends, family, and life. It’s onto her to find her truth and apologies to anyone who she harmed. After all, that’s not what Somi Hinata would’ve wanted. Some of you guys have seen the older versions of my Pregame AU, but I will give an explanation of each character shown in here. First we have Yuan Hinata (Shuichi Saihara). Yuan and Somi (Tsumugi) are cousins and live together under Somi’s mom’s roof and they have a very on and off friendship pregame. However in Postgame, Shuichi is very hesitant to interact with his cousin. He’s only encouraged by his aunt and Somi’s mother dragging them along together. Second is Mayu Tetora (Himiko Yumeno). Mayu and Somi met up while auditioning for the Danganronpa Character Development Ward before Somi caught the ginger’s attention. Holding her ‘magic book’ close to her chest and her friends closer, Mayu tends to be very clingy towards Somi. However in Postgame, Himiko tries to have little to no interaction with Tsumugi. Third is Kizuna Sosei (Angie Yonaga). Kizuna’s a foreigner who’s native land is unknown to Somi, and who has very little knowledge in speaking Japanese. Hinata and Sosei bond over their love of danganronpa and Somi eventually starts teaching her Japanese’s broad strokes. While Sosei did make off hand remarks of a god, it wasn’t as frequent as Angie. In Postgame, Angie was one of the first people to approach Tsumugi and started to bring Himiko and Tenko with her on her visits. Fourth is Keppei Yuto (Kokichi Ouma). Keppei’s a member of the tea appreciation club in his and Somi’s secondary school and was first introduced to Somi during the audition for Danganronpa’s Character Development Ward. While Yuto was pretty closed off, he would stand on his own a number of times. In Postgame, Kokichi is genuinely terrified of Tsumugi, aiming to be more hostile towards her than before. Fifth is Kokone Shion (Kaede Akamastu). Somi was first introduced to Kokone through Aoki and recognized her too from the Danganronpa CD Ward audition. Kokone threatened to blankmail Somi if she told Aoki about her auditioning, to which Somi agreed to be quiet. They weren’t the best of acquaintances, however Shion’s dependable. After Danganronpa, Kaede was one of the people to give Tsumugi a second chance, since Akamastu was given another chance too. Sixth is Aoki Saku (Rantaro Amami). Childhood friend and long time crush, Aoki and Somi had met during elementary and have been friends since. Aoki was actually the one to introduce Somi and Yuan into Danganronpa, to which the three of them grew even closer together. When Aoki was accepted into the Danganronpa cast for the 52nd game, Somi watched constantly and gave her support to him. So much so that when she was in the position to help recover his psyche from the game, Hinata was first in line. Through Somi’s help, Saku was no longer at risk and was let go- until he was forced into another killing game. In postgame, Rantaro and Tsumugi are more or less estranged. While he would do anything to protect her, he wouldn’t ‘hang out’ with her nor be casual around Tsumugi. Seventh is Somi Hinata (Tsumugi Shirogane) In postgame, she separates Somi and Tsumugi to take less pressure from her mind, however is shunned regardless of whichever identity she took. Calling herself ‘shattered’ was an understatement as her mind had completely broken and confused. Somi’s doing her best to piece back together Tsumugi and herself, but with Tsumugi’s harsh nature it’s almost impossible. The only way that she had found relief was with her friends and talking through it. If you have anymore questions about this AU, please ask and I’ll try to answer as quickly as possible!
Im just wondering, what would Kiibo's pregame thing be like? he's a robot so he's not a real person but it does show he has a pregame outfit. Also when they are all dressing up, how exactly does kiibo get dressed?- He's a robot and it's just plates of metal- and if you pause the kaede getting dressed part, it show's his metal body thing
For my AU, K1B0 is a real person! The Danganronpa games are held in virtual reality (there’s a memory flash of Shuichi hooked up similar to DR2 that I based it off of). While I don’t have him here, he’s more of an online figure for Yuan/Shuichi in pregame. I think how K1B0 gets dressed is: while there is a dressing montage, this activities a command to strip away his humanity. While the humans can bleed, K1B0 is programmed to not have human-like capabilities besides emotions.
