    The obsession with getting enough protein is a marketing myth. Worry about being short of fibre, not protein. And the body and brain's preferred food is a healthy unrefined carb

    Listen to Sophie! I have followed her suggestions (actually am 100% whole food plant based now) and lost weight, plus lowered my body fat. I do strength training too 3xs a week and I love long brisk walks. I like Sola or Kind granolas which are high protein, low sugar. Her chia seed breakfast pudding is delicious and easy. I've added wild rice, lots of seeds, nuts, hemp hearts, legumes, veggies, sprouts and fruit. NO OIL! I make a yummy tahini salad dressing, with balsamic vinegar, fresh herbs and a little salt and pepper. Thank you, Sophie!

    I was whole plant based for 2 years. I felt great for the 1st year but going into the 2nd year I started getting very thin hair, brittle nails & my body just started feeling like I was lacking something.
    I started adding organic, grass fed meat back into my diet along with eggs once or twice a week and almost instantly started feeling better.
    I'm sure plant based is good for some but not all. Any suggestions? Anything I could have been missing?

    Unfortunately, seeds have the same amount of calories as nuts (some a little less, some even more), the only alternative is to exclude them (or limit them to 1-2 per day) for the duration of weight loss.

    • @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen
      @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen  2 роки тому +1

      Yes but we need our healthy fats too.

      @@SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen Omega 3 is found in algae, and omega 6 is pro-inflammatory anyway. An overweight person carries fat on himself, putting extra fat in his mouth, even if the healthy one adds it to his waist. The ingested fat does not evaporate magically, it stays with us, and it is the easiest source of energy for our body.

    Doing plantbased and need to lose 60 lbs. All put on in one year. 53 years old. Switching to plant based. Concerning healthy fats, how can i get the right amount of it, without putting on weight. If seeds, then what is the minimum I should eat. Would 1 T. Of ground flax seed be enough for healthy fats?

I actually have some arriving today from Azure Standard, so I was happy to hear you mention them. However, I would like options of where I can order oat groats from. Sophie, you look great! I don't necessarily need to lose weight, 5 lbs wouldn't hurt though. I did lose 15 lbs 1.5 years ago. but, I would love to keep it off. I have been on a plant based diet for 14 years. Recently, I make a lot of bowls, and stir-frys. I use, about a tablespoon of coconut oil in my stir-frys, and water, lots of fresh ginger, lol. What can you substitute for the oil when making a stir-fry? xoxo

    thank you for this video! I immediately went and looked at my almond milk carton ingredients... Sophie can you tell us what exactly it would say about the oil..like coconut oil, palm oil?" What would it specially list as an oil? thank you!!!

    • @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen
      @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen  2 роки тому +2

      It's usually the second ingredient on the list - any kind of oil should be avoided. Different brands use different oils. Just avoid any plant milk with oil.

    hi from Australia... just found your channel. I have been eating plant based for 2 yrs. I am in late 60's , and have a lot of belly fat that I can not shift. I have a chick pea omelette each morning with soy milk and shredded kale, swiss chard, mushrooms, red onions and tomatoes chopped up in a container that I add to the mix ... this on top of avocado on Burgin oat, grain toast. This fills me up till lunch and then I don't really feel like eating.. what am i doing wrong... i have around 500mls of unsweetened almond milk in 2 shots of coffee and ice with 2 tbl maple syrup.. this is only sugar i eat.
