Yeah personally what stands out to me about this route is how you have to go out of your way to look for the means to accomplish it. I mean you can say the same thing about the normal route or the Genocide and Pacifist routes in Undertale, but those paths are actively encouraged/discouraged by different characters within the games' world who acknowledge those as choices the player can make. I think that Gaster has to be connected to Deltarune. 1. In Chapter 1 when you create a vessel the parts are labelled in the files as Goner Pieces. A couple of months later, Deltarune releases, with a character called Susie as a prominent figure in the game. 2. Gasters theme is EVERYWHERE. It’s in Card Castle, it’s in Girl Next Door, it’s in Another Him, it’s in THIS SONG. Gasters theme is important because we get so little information about him and he gets his very own theme. Only prominent characters like Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, ect get their own themes. And yet, dispite barely appearing in Undertale, Gaster gets his own theme. Also the theme itself is quite hard to get, needing a specific Fun Value in order to get it, so it is quite hidden as well, along with the supposed Gaster Sprites. 3. He is also everywhere in Deltarune. Specifically the bunker. The ambience that comes from the bunker, if sped up by 666%, is the sound that comes from Entry 17 (more on entry 17 in a bit). Also, the text to speech voice that reads ‘Deltarune’ in the intro also is the text to speech that makes Gasters speech in Entry 17. 4. I believe that the experiment referenced in Entry 17 causes Dark Worlds to be created. Think about it, quotes like ‘The darkness keeps growing’, ‘the shadows cutting deeper’, and especially ‘photon reading negative’. A photon carry’s light and if they were negative, darkness would have to be all around the result. When a door to a dark world is opened, darkness emanates from the room. Photons would have to be negative for that to be possible. Also, in both Deltarune and Entry 17 there is a sting focus on darkness. In Deltarune there is dark candy, darkners, dark fountains, dark worlds. Entry 17 also mentions darkness a lot, most notably in the quote that I pointed out previously. Also, using the cell phone in the dark world results in the same sound that plays in Entry 17 plays on the phone, with the game referring to it as Garbage Noise. Toby knew what he was doing there. Also, some parts of Entry 17 is repeated verbatim on some of those twitter posts, most notably ‘Very, very interesting.’ 6. Toby Fox wanted to make Deltarune before he made Undertale. If looking it up, it would just show an extract from Entry 17, but then it changes to ‘Three heroes appeared at worlds edge to banish the Angels Heaven’, all in Wingdings, which is the same font Entry 17 is written in. The fact that Gaster specifically was on the Deltarune website instead of any other teaser is obviously hinting at Gasters involvement in Deltarune. This song inspired me, and only a couple songs can do that. For once, I got the 'let your imagination fill in the blanks' style of horror, and I had trouble sleeping for the first time in an entire year, scared that the things this song made me imagine would be at my bedside. I could barely remember the feeling of fear before then, and experiencing it again was amazing, I felt proud that my imagination did most of the work, and now I'm sad that I desensitize myself so easily these days, I can't properly appreciate horror anymore!
For me the genocidal routes in undertale and deltarune are like a representation of what point the human being can go just to get satisfaction, in this case, satisfaction of completing the game, or also to what point just to see what happens, For me, the Snowgrave route is a representation of how a person can manipulate someone to the point of making them hurt others just for their own convenience and satisfaction, in addition to the mental damage that can be caused to that person.
I always thought about the significance of the Weird Route. It almost doesn't belong in the game... to which I say, it literally doesn't. With how Ralsei described the prophecy, it seems like it's going to happen regardless of any interference, the whole thing's 'on rails' so-to-speak. The Delta Warriors will stop the roaring, no matter what happens/what they do. What if you didn't want to go that route? Considering how much the goat insists on it, Mercy seems to be the chosen path we're supposed to take, and because of the legend we're supposed to be upholding, we can't change that. Our choices don't matter... or so they say. The thing is, _this rule does not apply to anyone outside of the prophecy._ You're free to manipulate others as you see fit to do your bidding, even your supposed best friend. By this logic, you doing the Weird Route is your act of rebellion, albiet in an indirect way... actively breaking the rules of the game set in front of you and doing what you're not supposed to. It's almost like the world itself was not designed for this to happen, but it happens anyway by your own force of will. Through your own willpower, your own *determination,* you make your own choices in a world not fit for it, and you witness the resulting consequences... but, you think you are above consequences. It's not like you could just go to a different save file and go on as if nothing happened... right?
I’ve been looking for this song everywhere! It’s so good, it’s like it isn’t supposed to sound so wrong. It’s like the “playing forever” OST from Omori. Everything is wrong, yet you pretend it isn’t. The song is comforting, yet unknown, mysterious, strange and threatening. God I love this game Edit: after a month I have more to say. This scene in particular felt so…sad. Noelle was so confused over what Kris had been doing that day, and felt the need to investigate even further. And the fact that gaster’s theme can be sorta heard….creepy…can’t wait for what’s gonna happen next. I can’t stop saying it, so I’ll say it again. God I love this game
Speaking of Omori, did you realize that Noelle also lost her older sister before the game's events? And the fact that in Chapter 1, you find her standing outside her own door because she doesn't have her keys, like the real-world sequence on Omori's first night? Maybe Dess isn't findable after all...
I gently open the door. "Noel-" Dude, after playing Doki Doki Literature Club (My key next to x is broken 💀) I'm pretty sure that if Toby proceeds to make this game darker, Noelle's going to a tragic end
Imagine Toby would do Something Like that And a Text Box Pops Out saying: *Look what You Had done [User Name]. YOU were the why she commit sui... (UA-cam probably has a Problem with this Word) *And for what? Just to know "what Happens next?" *You have one Last chance [User Name]. *Reset or continue. *... *Who am i kidding? Of course You would continue. *You want to See what Happens next. *Lets make a Deal *You continue this Route but when you're finished, You will never ever doing this again, capiche?
If you listen carefully and for long enough, you’ll realize that this sounds similar to gaster’s theme. My theory is that this song is gaster being reincarnated into a different universe, using Kris as a vessel. And he started infiltrating Noelle’s mind to prevent whatever he wants to do with Kris, as he sees Noelle as a threat to a plan he has.
Welp. Hopefully no children die :> I don’t believe there is high frequency’s so I don’t think so btw I know that it’s a fake story just thought that I would reference lavender town syndrome
@@accountnotfound69 here’s a theory, deltarune monsters eat more physical food so their bodies dont turn to dust due to magic and have less of magic? Makes some since
You know what i Just realised? When you had your First story choice ( toilet doesnt count) in chapter 1, you get Interrupted by Susie. But at the Hospital scene in chapter 2, you can take as much time as you want, susie will only come if you made a choice meaning that we told Noelle the truth
holy crap, you are right. Once we found that we, as the player, couldn't manipulate Susie and that she had the power of denying our own freedom of choice, we as the player were scared to not enact any sick twisted plan of ours throughout chapter 1 (Plus, we know Ralsei is sus so we know not to try any funny business with him around due to his power of distracting the player during some moments to talk with kris in private). Once we caught glimpse of Noelle's weakness to control and her pushy nature, We as the player decide that its now time to proceed with this twisted curiosity of ours in order to control Noelle like a party member in an actual rpg. It makes the hospital scene all the more frightening that the player knows whats inside Noelle's head at all times like we would in a regular rpg and uses that against her in order to further the objective of the player. The other thing I find interesting is that Noelle's development as a character is pretty much the same with her getting more confident (this reinforces the idea that although the ending will be the same, the way we get to it will prove detrimental to the characters and world of deltarune). Toby, what the fuck man this is worst than genocide from Undertale if this implies on how the other weird routes are gonna go . _.
I just woke up and I had a dream about being killed it’s dark and I can’t see anything, my vision is blurry and I feel like I’m about to throw up, this is my last resort.
You know how toby fox said there would only be one ending, right? Then what about berdly? Does he just.. Not matter? Or will he be back later? But even so, berdly will still remember.. Noelle will still remember.. That would possibly change the ending a lot. In undertale, you couldn't kill a single monster, because if you do, you can't get the pacifist ending, because flowey needs every single soul to become asriel. So that means, the ending must be a neutral kind of ending. Where nothing good, or bad could happen. Because if you killed people in the dark world, like berdly, then obviously that wouldn't be good. So either, berdly will come back with no memory of what happened, and noelle would forget what happend, and assume kris was somehow playing a prank on her, OR berdly stays dead, (or possibly wakes up) noelle continues on with the knowlage she killed her best friend, how a magical place like that was real, and everyone in class, and out of class would notice berdly is missing. And the ending would probably change. But still, toby fox said there would only be one ending. "Your choices don't matter" this also has gasters MOTIF in it, so maybe gaster did something to fix the timeline? Why is this called "flashback"? What happend while this was playing wasn't a flashback. It was in the present. Maybe this would show up again in the future.
to be fair, the entire motif of “your choices don’t matter” has only been said in Chapter 1. The chapter where, no matter what you do, fight every enemy or spare, the same end result happens with no consequences whatsoever. i’m chapter 2 though, it really seems like your choices impact the overall story and the characters’ fates. so maybe your choices just didn’t matter in chapter 1?
@@TrulySomeone remember, "your choices dont matter" is being said to _kris_ , not _you_ , snowgrave demonstrates that _your_ choices very much do matter and can have horrific consequences
Maybe the ending it's fate, maybe it's inevitable that the heroes save the World, but can leave a World full of Happyness, or a living horror, the World would be saved anyways. I suspect that Deltarune would have that future. Just "one ending" but many diverse Aftermaths.
christmas... just a week away. only a week. only a week. only a week. it got here so fast, am I losing track of time.. how could it be only a week, it feels like just yesterday I was thinking it was 364 days away. and.. it seems to be going faster and faster, yet I am still being told to proceed. only a week, only a month, only a year. they all seem the same..... and it feels like I'm living the same day over and over again.. the outside may change from spring to summer to fall, but in my mind it is only an eternal winter. there's so much snow.. I can barely see anything.. but then again, it's only a week.. or a year..... or seven, eight, nine, ten.
Fighting Sans in Undertale genocide route made me realise one simple truth. Try after try I cared less about all the good adventure I had before in Neutral and Pacifist routest, I cared less about all the people I had to vaporise to get so far. I just wanted him dead. The moment when I stroke the final blow, I didn't feel myself human. In Deltarune that feeling returned in my snowgrave route, but in other shape like everything in this game. You're not a beast that obliterates everyone on your sight anymore. Here you're different. Here you force another person to do this by leaving your hands clear. Here you have something you haven't in Undertale Here you have *_control_*
you feel like even more of a monster from the weird route on purpose. one of the common complaints about undertales pacifist route was that you had to spare monsters who were attacking you, and if you killed them it was a bad thing. in the weird route there is NO justification for this, you HAVE to be actively manipulating noelle and going after enemies
Same thing happened with most people the further they got in geno the more they forgot, Undyne’s fight and the grinding in Hotlands and Core kinda numbs you. But I’ve noticed this almost every time with Sans, after struggling through many many attempts to finally beat him, when they finally land the killing blow most people celebrate, but when they listen to Sans final words everyone immediately feels regret at what they have just done, not enough to stop, but enough to make them pause for sure. I think it’s because aside from his dialogue being sad and being almost everyone’s favorite, I mean out of all the characters he has pretty much the most screen time so it’s not surprising, it’s because it’s the last reminder of what they have done and the most emotionally impactful moment of the whole route, Papyrus death.
What would happen when you dial the pitch shift up two notches, then hear this song (a somewhat sample of it at least)? My experience: It felt like I had just experienced a flashback that's unquestionably ambivalent from start to finish.
That's because Gaster's Theme and Lavender Town have a very similar composition Low Mid High Mid But whike Gaster's Theme goes A A# F A# Lavender Town goes C G B G# They both repeat the same "Mid" tune, but only Gaster's Theme keeps a # on the Mid key, and it uses a Sharp key, while Lavender Town only changes it's Mid tone on the second time it's played where it makes it a G flat
When I first heard of the *SnowGrave Route* it sounded as if it was a creepypasta and I genuinely found it terrifying Then I tried it for myself. There’s no going back, is there?
Um akschually you can make an infinite number of saves so you can go back to whatever point in the game you want /hj (in game 3 files yes, but u can take the files out so)
Chapter 3's genocide route is gonna be depressing as hell considering that there's a high ass chance we may have to manipulate Toriel into setting Undyne ablaze
@@CG09_TMP Spamton sweeptakes gave vague hints that barely even gave anything to noelle's story outside of the context whatever the fuck is happening with Dess
Despite what the game says, your choices do matter somewhat. Deltarune keeps track of numerous 'flags' in the save file that are set to different values depending on your actions. This is used so things you did in Ch. 1's save file are carried over, like the thrash machine. I believe it also saves whether or not you went down the alternate route in one such flag. What I wonder is, does the game ever save which option you said, and/or if you wore the watch? It would be strange for the game to just give you these options and not keep track of them... And if so, where might this information be used in the future? IIRC, the game doesn't actually 'discard' the Vessel you design in Chapter 1 either, it's also saved despite it not being used... _yet._

The song is called Flashback Excerpt so it's likely this song has a longer version and it's actually meant to play somewhere else. (Because the Hospital scene wasn't a flashback) My guess is a flashback to years ago when whatever happened to Dess happened. The clock, gramophone, and music box used in the song definitely tie into the theme of a flashback to the past

God I love this game
Edit: after a month I have more to say.

I just realized, this also sounds like lavender town

Noelle is gonna go through hell in the later chapters down this route tbh
One of the best Chapter 2 soundtracks
Choices don’t matter to Kris, so what if we bend the rules a lil’ bit…?
Here you have something you haven't in Undertale
Here you have *_control_*
you feel like even more of a monster from the weird route on purpose. one of the common complaints about undertales pacifist route was that you had to spare monsters who were attacking you, and if you killed them it was a bad thing. in the weird route there is NO justification for this, you HAVE to be actively manipulating noelle and going after enemies

_yet._
