They are super cool buggies! The lexan runner body is a game changer though, much lighter and tons tougher! The lone tire rolling down the road did make me laugh though! LOL! Take care Mark!!
Too right, Addam! Yeah I should have kept the hard body as a shelf queen, too late now though! 😅 I just couldn't resist running it for the camera! And that lone tyre - my son alfie did a great job capturing that on camera. Damn funny! Cheers my friend! 🍺😎👌👍
Yikes 7 years old getting near tamiya ABS destruction years Mark!! I don't recall how old my hot shot is but it sure hit me with the ABS starting to shatter easy.👍 Nice video about this beauty!
I know Steve, she's getting long in the tooth now and more brittle by the day! Great Tamiya though all the same. Thanks Steve, I know you love your Blitzer, too! 😎👌👍
Made me think of the video you did with all the bugs driving about causing chaos. You video came out as I was getting back in to it and I was sold on this from seeing that. The one thing I did to mine which helped loads was put the DT02 Turnbuckle Set which I found tonreally improve the handling.
Thanks very much Damian, yes making this video brought all those memories back for me, too. Glad you remember those videos! Thanks for the turnbuckle tip, I didn't know the DT02 ones fitted! Cheers! 😎🙏👍
Hiya mate. Nice review of this classic buggy. As you know I did have one pre fire and I did really like it but I did break a fair few things on it with the brushless setup. I ended up breaking the side off the gearbox in a rollover! Anyway as you also know I recreated the Blitzer with a DT-02 which is a bit more robust. I've also got some Blitzer wheels with HPI tyres for on road. Great vid mate I think you covered pretty much everything here. Enjoy your Friday. I'm sure you have a lovely beer on the go. I know I have 😁👍🍺🍺🍺
Hi there Pete. Glad you approve my friend. Oh yes, I remember your antics with a BB! That DT02 version you created was most excellent, but it's strange how yours held together and I've broke a lot of DT02 parts - must be the luck of the draw sometimes!?!?! Those HPI tyres are pretty good ain't they? Friday was good but now I've got a poorly missus to look after. Take care mate! 😎👌🍺👍
Got one still in the box, brought it for my grandson to put together along with a lunchbox but he's not interested so they are both in the loft waiting for me to build along with a Carisma SCA-1E Rangerover kit. Plenty to do when I get the chance.
@@MarkBryanRC Ive built a couple of crawlers from bits so the SCA-1E shouldnt be too much of a problem. The issue I have is space and a 4th lunchbox lol. If i build it im sure my grandson will take it. He just likes driving them, not the build or repair part.
@@jord001 Ahh, cool, you will have no problems then, but I found the Range Rover body the hardest bit of the kit! There's a video on my channel about it! I can just imagine the big smile on your grandson's face as he drives a new Lunchie!!! 🤗🤗👍👍
Thanks Jeremy, yeah it was an idea from a viewer to do a long term review series! Glad you agree my friend. You know you will love a BB, one day you will have one I'm sure! 😎👌👍
Brilliant brilliant video Mark! Love this idea pal and look forward to a few more of these as we go on. You have loved this RC and this is how they all should be brother 🙌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it my good friend! Yeah this long term review idea was a suggestion form a viewer of the last video, I think it's pretty cool! Definitely love this Blitzer, but then I probably love all my Tamiyas! Cheers, buddy! 🙏😎👌👍
Awright you guys, howdy do, awesome video, really enjoyed it,especially the cunning stunt, nearly pissed meself 😮. Your review was spot on imho 😅 the blitzer can take some serious abuse. Niiiiiiiiiiice video guys.😊
Hiya Mikey! Great to hear you enjoyed the show, mainly Rob and me messing about as usual! Yeah, Rob was a naughty boy, wasn't he?!?!?! All the best to you my friend, have a smashing weekend there! 🤗👊👍
Great review of the iconic Blitzer Beetle, Mark. Funny thing, I've got that exact same motor/esc combo in my Midnight Pumpkin, and it's all sorts of awesome. I see it's nicely suited to the BB as well, those are some nice wheelies she's pulling. Another fantastic video, Mark!
Hi Fil and many thanks as ever my man! Yeah, I really rate this Leopard combo, it's excellent value for money, too bad I can't find any in stock these days. But I bet it screams in your Pumpkin! Hope all is well, have a smashing weekend, dude! 😎👌👍
I got my Blitzer re re a few years back. Wanted one since I was a teenager. Got a hobby king 2s lipo set up. It's been fantastic. Finally burnt out the rear tyres and upgraded to Schumacher rears. As you say the fronts are great. I've had a kamtec shell for ages now and still not fitted it. The long suffering hard shell is hanging on. So far I've broken the shell countless times, the front shock tops ( hit a bike rack in the park 😅) and an axle like yourself. I hit a pot hole and the wheel carried on by itself for ages. I've still not done the bump steer mod. One thing I find if driving it hard is, it seems to front flip easily. Also if running on hard surface and hitting higher speeds, not to let off hard on the accelerator. It has a braking effect and can spin or flip easily. Bearing kit is a no brainer. Love it !
Hi Alex and thanks for the great comment. Good to know you have enjoyed your Blitzer too. And it's amazing your hard shell is still going strong! I agree about the front flips and about braking from speed spinning the car, as you say it only brakes on the rear wheels so tends to unsettle the car. I Hope you have many more years of fun out of your Blitzer Beetle! Cheers! 😎👌👍
Mark, this is a great video concept! I remember your TT-02B video, I watched that quite a lot of times, it helped me a lot! With videos, it's interesting to see new RC's, but often when we really need proper info, it's gotta be a video with someone who has experience with that car... By the way, you called it a truck, I'd argue it's a BUGGY! 😁 Anyway, have a great weekend there, my friend!
Hello Mads my good friend. Great to hear that you like the concept! It was suggested by a viewer of my last video. I agree that most RC videos are about new cars so I thought it was a nice idea to give some feedback about what it's like to own a car for a few years. Seems to have gone down well judging by the comments. Oh yes, I called it a few things in the edit, but yes, it really is a buggy because it's definitely a "Bug"!!! 😅 Hope your week is going well, mate! 😎👌👍
Thank you very much, mate! You have a good memory, Are, those videos were many moons ago! I must get working on that wheelie bar solution... All the best to you my friend. 😎👌👍
interesting to find out review about long term owenside marky like that hard to make a choice for some people on new rcs at times nice one marky good to see you keep your RCs in good shape too 👍
Right on Brudda! Glad you like the long term review format, yeah I agree most videos are about brand new cars. Hope I can do more of these, massive thanks for the awesome support my mate. Hope the weekend's a good one - cheers! 😎🍺🙏👍
Excellent "Owner" review about this fantastic RC kit. It was watching your build video that prompted me to purchase my own Blitzer Beetle and add a brushless combo. Ive also got a stack of replacement hubs just in case another one snaps 😂 Looking forward to hearing about the next review 👍
Great to hear you enjoyed the review, Peter! Oh mate, that build video was years ago now, how time flies. Cool you got one as well, haha and gotta go for a brushless combo in these suckers, as long as you have some spare hubs!!! 😅 Thanks my good friend, not sure what to review next though! Cheers! 😎👌👍
Thanks a bunch for the cool comment, Mark! Haha so it's not just me with the stock tyres then! 😅 Yep the Ground Assault tyres are the way to go. Cheers! 🍺😎👌👍
Nice, i have a stadium blitzer but its a shelf queen, was my 1st ever rc so its special to me. Think i might have to get a beetle now so i can experience it again... just with a brushless setup and lipo 😂👍🏻
Hi there! Cool, I do like the Stadium Blitzer and don't blame you keeping your first RC safe from harm! You know how much fun a Beetle will be with a brushless motor and a lipo!!! Cheers! 😎👌👍
Howdy Mark🤠, That's one of our favourite's mate!, it's hard to beat the looks of a beetle👌😁. That basher body looks way better than the original one, nice curvaceous mud guards etc😋. Thanks for the run down and thanks for the front end tips too mate, we'll be doing that to our blitzer too👍. Hi from Sheila and Bruce and please say G'day to McRob if you see him. Hope you're all having a nice weekend Cobber👍🙋♀️😁🦘🇦🇺
Hello there my good mate Wayne 👍 Great to hear that you love ❤ the Beetle too, you guys have great taste for sure 👌 😀 .Oh yeah the Kamtec lexan body is awesome for just a few quid! That steering mod really works mate, you will see a big difference if you try it I'm sure. The weekend was pretty good thanks, wishing you and Sheila a wonderful week ahead! Cheers 🍻 😎💙👌👍
Boom! Right on, James! Thanks for the thumbs up on this one mate, glad you agree. Hope you and the missus are having a good one down there! Cheers! 🍺😎👌👍
Hiya mate.... Great over view of the Blitzer Beetle man, You had that brushless set up in that buggy for the past 5 years.. I remember watching that axle snap too, good times my friend. Great video also...
Hello there my good friend! Glad you approve of the video, I might do a few more of these! Oh yes, that motor/ESC combo has had a lot of use over the years. I just had to include that video clip mate, it always makes me smile! All the best to you, take care mate. 🤗👌👍
Hi Mark I've just put a sand scorcher shell on my blitzer.Needs a bit off the nose cone, but much cheaper than buying all the blitzer bits you need.Looks superb.
I've run a Velineon® VXL-3s brushless system in mine for the past 12 years. I've broken every part bashing in that time, but there was always a crash involved. Proline Dirt Hawgs all around is my go to all around tire for the Blitzer.
Wow Paul, 3s brushless in one of these!?!?!?! That must be mental fast! No wonder you broke it dude. But I bet it was tons of fun all the same! Oh yeah, I've heard good things about the Dirt Hawgs, too. Cheers my friend! 🍺😎👌👍
Hi Nanni! Thank you very much, yes I fitted the driver on the right just because I could! It really is a great kit, you should try it one day. Take care my friend, ciao! 😎👌👍
Now we're talking mate, what a great idea for a video series Mark.....👌 Love it! Great to see you incorporating running footage from older videos that I enjoyed so much. The transition between the older footage and the new discussion was seamless and very informative! The trusty Blitzer..... I would have to agree.... cheap, tough, visually appealing, and so much fun! It's quite re'mark'able just how tough that thing is in comparison to the Falcon that the chassis originated from. Had to laugh at your hard body (ooh er!)..... It's cracked in all the usual places, but still looks far better condition than my runner beetle! I've repaired all those areas and more with layers of fiber glass and araldite on the inside of the shell....after all, no one likes big cracks do they?! 😂 Like you say, this is a great value kit, and yours looks uber fast with that brushless set up.... and when you get a random wheel rolling off down the road you know you're having a good time! Cool tip on reversing the uprights mate, I never knew of that. Also loving the mandatory Mark B custom aluminium plate, and gearbox protector/wheelie board! Im sure I speak for a large proportion of your viewers when I say "more" of these kind of videos please!! This is what the hobby is all about, there's only a certain amount of unboxing/builds/first runs of the newest, latest and greatest models that you can watch. This format/concept makes a real refreshing change, great viewing Sir! 🙏 😊 👍 👍 👍
Hello there my mate! Glad you like the video concept, it was an idea from a viewer of the last video and I thought it would be a great series to do, as I have a lot of "old" rc cars that I can talk about! Yeah, I thought adding some old running footage would add to the visuals and provide some cool transitions between my waffling bits! I actually love the cracked and beat up hard body, it's got shall we say - character!!! 😅 I know you are like me and actually have a bond between yourself and your favourite cars, I'm sure we are not alone... Oh yeah, that reversing of the uprights makes a big difference to the handling, a good free upgrade there mate! This video seems to have gone down very well so I intend to make a few more, what do you reckon should be next? Agreed, almost every RC video is about a new RC unboxing or first run, we need more of the old and cherished cars to be given some limelight!! So pleased you approve, my friend. Take care and all the best - cheers! 🍺😎🙏👌👍
@@MarkBryanRC Evening matey! Glad I wasn't the only one who really enjoyed this, potentially the start of a great series! Seeing the cars in action from the archives, repairs, tips and upgrades, long term verdicts, and a bit of humour.... all good fella! I would be interested in seeing a feature like this on all of your longer serving cars..... as for the next? Definitely your OG monster Beetle! Loads of history(loved the story of how it got run over by some thugs!) , loads of custom aluminium upgrades, and a Tamiya that has a real keen following for many of us that grew up in the golden era of RC! As for the character of beaten bodies, totally agree! Every scratch, dent and ding (and even in some cases scorch marks) tells a story! My original Midnight pumpkin from 1988 even still has flecks of red, orange, yellow and black marks on it from impacts with my friends monster beetle, mud blaster, lunchbox, and blackfoot.... I can even remember some of the exact crashes that caused them over 35 years ago! 😂 All of my 4 or 5 current main runners have many battle scars. But, I go totally the other way with my shelf queen's..... If I get so much as a light scuff on a part from a gentle run in the garden I instantly replace the part! They are all dusted every week to! 😂 😅 I do love my shelf queen's from a display/art/nostalgia point of view..... but there's no denying I have the most fun with my beaten runners! Looking forward to the next instalment buddy. We are putting out something totally different later..... don't know how well it's going to go down as it's not RC, but I'm hoping some of the older viewers may find it of interest! Hope the Misses is feeling better now mate. 😊 All the best dude! 👍 👍 👍
Hi mate, sorry for not getting back to you, I'm struggling with stuff at the mo! Yeah, Need to fix the MBeetle first though but will do a video on it. Agree with all your excellent comments though! Looking forward to your new content mate. Louise is feeling a lot better, thanks! Cheers! 😎🍺🙏👍
Well hello there Kevin! Thanks a ton my friend. Ahh, need to stop talking with Bob about this one and just pick one up (each!) You won't be disappointed! 😎👌👍
Awesome 👌 news Craig! It's a fantastic bug, but don't think it will do any good around the OR!!! 😂 Needs something a bit peppier than the stock silver can, then you'll have a smile from ear to ear! 😁👍
Many thanks, Richard. You and me both, my RC wish list is a mile long! But this one really is worth getting, you would love it I'm sure! Have a smashing weekend mate! 😎👌👍
Awesome review. We don't get many of these it seems as people like to show off the new and then no more run videos or commentaries on long term usage. Cheers
Thanks for watching dude! Glad you find the long term format to be a good thing. Yeah, totally agree with you about most channels showing the latest releases over and over, in the real world most of us run our cars for many years. Cheers pal! 😎🍺👌👍
I love the beetle, i want to do another sand scorcher in bright yellow smoked glass with the real aluminium wheels from eBay, nice motor on your one mate and definitely seen some action judging from the battle scars, thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐱
Oh yes my friend, you can't beat a good Beetle!! I think I need a couple more, too. That Sand Scorcher you have planned sounds awesome. Yeah the brushless combo is great but not available here anymore. Thanks for watching as always mate. Cheers! 🍺😎👌👍
Great review of this Tamiya classic. For me the BB is Tamiya's best entry level Tamiya RC. It has many great features of the Sand Scorcher in looks like the classic Beetle shell ( which is hard body ) and the driver figure, and all for the third of the price of the SS. You really can't go wrong with this beauty, a lovely iconic fun vehicle to drive. TBH I prefer it to my Scorcher which I find very unwieldy as you control it. Great overview mate...😎😀👍🏻.
Hi there mate and thanks as ever! So good to know that I'm not alone in my opinion of this classic Bug! Too right about the price difference of the SS, it is awesome but a bit long in the tooth for serious bashing. Wishing you a smashing weekend my friend! 😎🙏👍
@@MarkBryanRCYeah, what I find with the SS is that it feels very heavy and cumbersome ( under your thumbs ) if that makes any sense, whereas the BB feels light and zippy. The BB is much more fun to drive, cheaper and less expensive to repair and to top it all - it doesn't need a specific humpback battery to power it.
@@thecontractor365 Absolutely, mate, after driving Rob's SS I couldn't agree more, the steering also really lets it down. Haha, and yes, battery choice is so much better in the Falcon chassis! 😅👍
Nice one Mark! I have mixed feelings about the Beetle but I have to admit, this RC is a classic. Pretty much the epitome of what a 'dune buggy' is when the phrase comes to mind. Scale Builder's guild showed a custom job (I think you have seen) that's just mind blowing. Hand welded metal everything and you can see the love put into it. Got another Lancia video coming today.. tested on 3S with a new servo but things didn't go exactly as planned. Got some nice shots and no damage though! Cheers
Cheers dude and I agree the Beetle is an rc classic, so many cool versions but this one is great value for money 💰 🤑. Good news on your 3s run, that sounds interesting 😀 Thanks for the great comments, take care! 😎👌👍
Hi Dai and thanks for another great message, mate! Good thinking about those wheelie bars, I'll have to look into it. Have a smashing weekend too - cheers! 🍺😎👌👍
This is the actual blitzer beetle not a dt02 version, different chassis although quite similar in their design. Pete wylie crazy did a dt02 blitzer beetle though! Cheers
Thanks very much, but as said in the other reply, this kit uses the Falcon chassis which is quite similar. Definitely worth looking at for the price. Cheers! 😎👍
Another great video Mark. I’ve got the Blitzer beetle, but I’ve not built it yet. Did you try a sport tune before going brushless, was wondering what it went like because that was my plan. Keep these videos coming. I’m looking forward to next one already. Have you ever built a Tamiya Buggyra fat fox truck. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul and thanks for the comment. I did try a 21T brushed in my Blitzer but it was still a little slow, but it's worth giving the sport tuned a try and see how you like it. No, not built a Buggyra, that another on my very long list! Cheers mate! 😎👌👍
Hi there, thanks and I'm pleased you enjoy the videos! Here is a link to those tyres: www.modelsport.co.uk/product/27436?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA6KWvBhAREiwAFPZM7kM7TqXjKR8Fc32feRJa1FBsEJFonc4yetDtFa2Vs3N-AjbirL-dlBoC4EUQAvD_BwE Cheers! 😎👍
Just change the exponential on your radio and you shouldn't need a wheelie bar. You will be able to tune it just right so you get wheelies not flips and still get as much acceleration as possible. As long as you still allow full power with the EXPO setting you will be good to go for speed runs.
Love the Blitzer. I just bought and built a re release and I’m having issues with the gearbox. I’ve set the pinion as instructed, but when I test it on my bench, the gearbox is really loud, and the wheels hardly spin, in fact the right wheel doesn’t move. Is as if the mesh is out, but I followed the instructions. The only thing I have done is use a sports tuned motor. Any ideas what it could be? I have seen some suggest buying a longer pinion as the Tamiya one is poor and the shaft on the motor is short. Thanks
Hi there! Oh dear, sounds like something is really amiss. The wheels should spin freely when turned by hand, you should be able to turn one wheel and the other should rotate in the opposite direction. I'd take the motor out and try that spin test. If one wheel wont spin easily or the other wheel doesn't turn when you spin one of them, there is something wrong with the differential. If it spins OK then there must be something wrong with the pinion and spur gear mesh, i.e too tight. The motor shouldn't make any difference. I used the stock parts and it's just fine. Hope this helps!
Hi again my friend! I just use ordinary plastic cement like you'd use for static plastic model kits from Airfix and Tamiya. The type that sort of melts the plastic together. 😎👍
Hi Xandro! I used the Repro Sand Scorcher Lexan body and it fits both my Blitzer Beetle and my Monster Beetle - here is a link: www.kamtec.co.uk/p/repro-tamiya-sand-scorcher-lexan-bodyshell Cheers!
Hi mark is a super stock tz faster than a sports tunned motor? I take it they both go forward and reverse? Silly question but some told me you cant go in reverse
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks mate will this be better in my blitzer or monster beetle although my monster beetle is going to have mip diff full upgrade £80 + full alloy steering etc that cost me £100 and cooling motor fan when i build it dont want to ruin it but blizer beetle will be my basher
Hi mark just building my blitzer beetle haven't built a tamiya since my monster beetle back in 1990. Anyway got to the point of doing the front steering uprights shall i reverse them? Witch is basically just like if you could unscrew the ball end and turn it upside down! If i do that would it help if i have a slightly longer servo saver? Many thanks if you could reply urgently
Hi there pal. If I were you on this first build in a long time I would just build it according to the manual and see how you like the steering. You can always swap the uprights over later as it only takes a few minutes. Enjoy the rest of the build!

Looks like the front has too much grip on the grass. The front quarter is digging in a rolling the car. I would change those tires to grass tires and maybe soften her up a bit on the front. IMHO. I use radials on the street and dirt tires on dirt. Makes a heck of a difference.
Hi mate me again 🙄 after some advice just ordered the golf mk1 for my m05 want to paint the body red, would tamiya acrylic flat black be ok for the front grill? Cheers dude
Hi again Dai, always a pleasure to read you mate! Well, I used enamel paint on my Audi Quattro body grille and it has stayed put! Acrylics do flake off Lexan, but if you spray the main body colour over it then it helps it stay put. A safer solution though is to spray some PS black into the lid of the can and brush that on if you can. Cheers! 😎👍

On the blitzer beetle parts tree v why do you have extra parts not used like the round shock part with 1 hole or 3 holes and v1 part that screws onto shock
Tamiya do that on most of their kits mate. They are standard parts trees that are used by several models and they put them all on one tree so they don't have to make different mouldings for each kit. They are well worth keeping as spares though!
@@MarkBryanRC so what's the spacers for inside shock and the round part on top of shock shafts with more holes as i cut the 2 holes one off parts tree and took a piece of side of it by mistake as got a right shoulder injury and im right handed 🥺
@@SRG-HITMAN-11 Spacers inside the shock reduce the shock travel to suit the chassis. The round pistons with holes in change the amount of damping. Less holes = more damping, more holes = less damping mate!

Those mirrors are horrid, why the did not keep to the old Sand Scorcher bit of metal and 2 bits of plastic not perfect but did last longer. Yours does have a lot of power, I know it needs more a bit and no breakages o the chassis I cannot say that for mine. Good to know about those rear tyres, must be so much better over stock. I think its so great the wheelbase is so much better than the old Scorcher.
Hi Mal, yep those stupid mirrors - what were Tamiya thinking?!?!?! But yeah, this has probably too much power but it's a lot of fun, maybe I just got lucky with a lack of breakages? The HPI tyres really are worth getting. All the best! 😎👌👍

I’ve used glazing packers for many things, never on an rc…. yet !
Cool vid buddy, enjoy the weekend 👍
Haha mate, you know how useful those glazing packers are! 😅Many thanks for the cool comment, have a smashing weekend too my friend! 🙏😎👌👍👍

@@PeteWylieRC Thanks matey! 🙏🙏👍👍
Wonderful review. This is on the list to build one day. 😊👍🏼
Thank you for the kind comment! Oh yes, you would enjoy this kit I'm sure! 🤗👌👍
Got one still in the box, brought it for my grandson to put together along with a lunchbox but he's not interested so they are both in the loft waiting for me to build along with a Carisma SCA-1E Rangerover kit. Plenty to do when I get the chance.
Sounds like you got 3 great kits awaiting you. I've built all 3 of those, the SCA-1E is in a different league in terms of complexity though! Have fun!
Very cool review Mark. I miss my Stadium Blitzer. Tamoya really made a great car out of the weak Falcon chassis. Nice upgrades on your car
Totally agree, Dirk, the Blitzers are great and the Falcon chassis holds up well. Thanks for the nice comment, have a great weekend!

Cheers! 😎👌👍
Love this Beetle! Great camera work on the tire son....lol
Glad you enjoyed it my friend! Oh yes, my son, Alf, is a great cameraman! Cheers! 🙏😎👌👍
Great video. Totally agree, the Blitzer is pure class and great fun. I love mine! I must check out that brushless combo you're using.
Many thanks! Seems my love of the Blitzer is not alone! A 3300kv brushless setup is ideal for this rig. Cheers! 😎👌👍
Another brilliant video Mark. Take care 😊
Thanks my mate Kim! This one seems to be doing quite well! Cheers for watching and have a lovely weekend! 🤗👌👍
Anyway, have a great weekend there, my friend!
Excellent video on the Blitzer Beetle
It's a really fun car
I remember your old video about it's bump steer 👍 and a wheelie bar is sure needed for it
Thank you very much, mate! You have a good memory, Are, those videos were many moons ago! I must get working on that wheelie bar solution... All the best to you my friend. 😎👌👍

Excellent "Owner" review about this fantastic RC kit. It was watching your build video that prompted me to purchase my own Blitzer Beetle and add a brushless combo. Ive also got a stack of replacement hubs just in case another one snaps 😂

Hi Mark
I've just put a sand scorcher shell on my blitzer.Needs a bit off the nose cone, but much cheaper than buying all the blitzer bits you need.Looks superb.
Hi Ian - Sounds great! I wasn't sure if it would fit but thanks so much for the advice, I'll keep that in mind for sure! Cheers! 🙏😎👌👍
HI!!!! This I don't have and your is fantastic. Super power, nice body paint (driver on right, very British) and good dampers. Great wok! Ciao

Now we're talking mate, what a great idea for a video series Mark.....👌
Love it!
Had to laugh at your hard body
(ooh er!)..... It's cracked in all the usual places, but still looks far better condition than my runner beetle!
I've repaired all those areas and more with layers of fiber glass and araldite on the inside of the shell....after all, no one likes big cracks do they?! 😂
Like you say, this is a great value kit, and yours looks uber fast with that brushless set up.... and when you get a random wheel rolling off down the road you know you're having a good time!

Evening matey!
Definitely your OG monster
Beetle!
All of my 4 or 5 current main runners have many battle scars.
But, I go totally the other way with my shelf queen's..... If I get so much as a light scuff on a part from a gentle run in the garden I instantly replace the part!
They are all dusted every week to! 😂 😅
I do love my shelf queen's from a display/art/nostalgia point of view..... but there's no denying I have the most fun with my beaten runners!
Looking forward to the next instalment buddy.
We are putting out something totally different later..... don't know how well it's going to go down as it's not RC, but I'm hoping some of the older viewers may find it of interest!
Hope the Misses is feeling better now mate. 😊

Cheers

@@Greasemonkey1794 No worries! 👌👍
Maybe some sho goo with drywall tape inside the body luv the lexan body option
Good idea, I think that might work! Yeah the Lexan body is definitely needed for serious bashing!
Just change the exponential on your radio and you shouldn't need a wheelie bar. You will be able to tune it just right so you get wheelies not flips and still get as much acceleration as possible. As long as you still allow full power with the EXPO setting you will be good to go for speed runs.
Thanks again! Good advice, but I only use an old twin stick radio with no expo settings! I just need to be more steady on the throttle!
@@MarkBryanRC thanks. I’ll give it a go.
Sorry one last thing i bought 15kg metal servos for both vehicles is that okay? And strong servo savors?

I usually just use the cheap 5kg servos from RADIENT RS-BS201-PG cheap as chips and good enough, just throw them away when worn out but they have lasted a few years in my bashers! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC cheers again
No worries mate!
Hi again Mark. Can you recommend cheap first timer lipo kit. It’s all a bit of a minefield out there what’s good. I’ve never tried lipo and have no lipo kit. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul. I've only got a few Lipo batteries as it's hard to get ones that fit all Tamiya's easily. However I just got these and they fit perfectly:

As for a charger, I have the Sky RC T100 that does all battery types, under £50 and charges 2 at a time.

All the best! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks Mark. I’ve been looking at brushless motors and esc’s. Apparently there are some good cheap ones. I’d like to be recommended one, rather than waste money on a bad one. Thanks
I've always been happy with Absima motors and my friends really like these:

Good quality and fast enough for some fun! Cheers!
@@MarkBryanRC Thank you kindly Mark. I think I need to look at my finances 😂 or stop buying rc cars 😂. I really appreciate the information it will help a lot. Cheers Paul P.S hurry up with the next video 😂.
You are very welcome Paul. Haha yeah this hobby is too addictive! 😅New video tomorrow! Cheers and take care! 🤗👍
@@SRG-HITMAN-11 Make another hole in the piston with one hole so its the same as the 2 hole piston and use that!
@@MarkBryanRC should i use one with 1 hole then
Do you have to glue wheels atl if so how?
Hi there! Yes I glued the rear tyres on, the fronts are OK without. This is how I do it:

Please give me details of rear tryes mark as I would not have a clue if I'm buying the correct hpi tyres please

@@MarkBryanRC AND THESE FIT THE WHEELS OKAY CORRECT? MANY THANKS MATEY REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP! PS YOU USE LIPO BATTERIES DONT THE TAMIYA CONNECTOR GET HOT OR MELT AS I HEAR MANY SAY
You are always welcome, mate! Yep, these are the tyres on my Blitzer, but they do need gluing on. And no, never had a problem with the Tamiya plugs melting, but I have started to change to Deans (T-connector) plugs on my ESC's and batteries!
@@MarkBryanRC whats deans plugs look like are they the red ones or yellow
@@MarkBryanRC how do you work out tyre size on rc cars
In the manual is set with toe inward?
Can't remember what the manual says but I usually set a tiny bit of toe in. 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC regarding tyres how do you work out what will fit or not? I've got 2.2" in my head for rears?
@@SRG-HITMAN-11 Yeah it is 2.2 inches, you measure the diameter of the wheel in inches mate
@@MarkBryanRC what about width doesn't that matter? I bought set of stadium blitzer crome wheels but front will not fit due to offset so will re sell as new when 80% off selling WK end on ebay
@@MarkBryanRC I BOUGHT 2.2 GROUND ASSAULT S COMPOUND FROM WHEELSPIN MODELS IM SURE THATS WHAT YOU SAID WHERE GOOD NOT SURE IF COMING WITH FOAM INSURTS THOU
What ktec body is it as they have many beetle bodies?
Hi mate, this body from Kamtec is the:
Repro Tamiya Sand Scorcher Lexan Bodyshell
Cheers! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC thanks do you have to put the holes in it atl?
Hi mate, it's just like a tamiya Lexan body, you have to cut it out and drill the holes. There are no instructions. You can leave the mudguards on or cut them off, depending on the look you want. There are photos of different examples on the Kamtec website.
@@MarkBryanRC I've not got whole reamer atl! Anything else I can use. Still waiting for my large hernia op been off work since 19th August and now hurt side of my ribs trying to pull pipe further onto back of toilet but have to silicon sealant as still leaking
You can use a normal drill that you'd use for drilling wood but it's worth oredering a reamer off eBay or amazon, it's worth it as only a few quid. Sorry to hear about the hernia, you need to take it easy! I retired due to ill health a couple of years back. Beeing ill sucks!!!
Where can you buy the lexan body online in united kingdom and will it fit the monster beetle?
I got mine from Kamtec here in the UK, here is a link:
www.kamtec.co.uk/p/kamtec-baja-lexan
Yest it will fit the MB. Hope this is of some use! 👍
@@MarkBryanRC Thank you
Those mirrors are horrid, why the did not keep to the old Sand Scorcher bit of metal and 2 bits of plastic not perfect but did last longer.
High mate are you phil ? As need to get alternative wheels for my re release blitzer beetle and road tyres was told these will fit 19804577/9804577 much appreciate any help also chrome wheels 19804559&19804560 street rover is my info correct atl
No mate, I'm Mark!!! But anyway, yes those street tyres and chrome wheels should fit your Blitzer Beetle, I checked the numbers on TTP (Tonys Tamiya Parts) and they are a match. Cheers!
@@MarkBryanRC YER sorry mark I got confused when I realized i sent it to wrong person. Thanks for info! Ttp models just told me that I'll need to change the front uprights to shorter ones for front wheels to fit.
Many thanks again for info your great cheers
@@SRG-HITMAN-11 No worries! You can always put some spacers (like old 1150 plastic bushings or washers) on the stock uprights rather than buying shorter uprights if the new wheels are too narrow for the stock shafts!
best hop up for an entry level tamiya is a can of lighter fluid and a match
🤣😅
