Back in the days when I lived on the Canadian west coast, I loved those massive wind storms and power outages. There was something so exhilarating about watching out the window as trees blow apart and power lines explode. Thanks for making these videos, I have really learned a lot from them.
try smart home solver i think their was a video of him reacting to peoples smart homes and one of them was about fire alarms and RGB led bulbs@@nics-systems-electric. if I had more smart sockets and fans I could set up a fire alarm presurization system.
suggestion for next test: for the house system: duct detector and for the garage system: pull station in the cupboard aka where the attic entrance is and where the ups for access control is
For next month for the garage system you should do that detector I saw on the flangeless base in the storage room below the rack a tiers sign, and house system you should do the heat detector in the house’s garage
I know the system was just expanded, but why not add additional remote strobes in areas that need additional strobe cover but have ample sound coverage. Would allow you to have coverage while keeping everything 15cd. You can also include a blue strobe right outside the front door to satisfy that requirement about a strobe marking where the annunciator is.
Because it's not a requirement when the systems not required to be there there are no strobes required in any house no matter when it was built however each bedroom is supposed to have a sound producing alarm no point of having a blue strobe for an annunciator when the fire department won't be responding anyway
@@achannelwithnopurpose1977 considering fire alarm devices can look out of place in a residential application it would be difficult to place more visual devices where it is aesthetically pleasing especially when it's not a public building where you won't have occupants that can't hear
Ditto if anyone else says but if you filmed at 60 FPS instead of 30 you'd have a better chance of capturing the strobe. Sure would love to have a tower at my place too!
@@stillthakoolest not really there is no low-voltage contacts to shut it down so it would have to be a contactor which would require cable ran to and installed in difficult locations not to mention there is absolutely no reason to shut it down when it is not serving more than one fire zone it is getting its return air and supplier in the same area

Couldn't agree more
i love. The way you tern the generator
?
Great video! Activate the bathroom heat detector in the shed and the garage heat in the house. Keep up the good work!
i love how you. Tern. The generator on
next time activate the fire alarm with the pullstation above the fire extinguisher
I love your monthly tests, Nic!
Can we do a pull station in the storage room in the garage?
Maybe
I can't wait for whats next... also I think it's blimey genius to use a power outage detector as a cheap alternative🤯
I would like to see you use smart lighting and try to integrate them into your fire alarm system using sound detection or other methods.
If someone was to send me Smart lighting I would try for fun but i'm not aware of any functional uses

wow! that’s very cool!
THIS is the man that inspired me to take up this stuff. Luv your vids very much! Keep it up!
Sorry about the caps it won't let me fix it.
i like the clicking
❤❤❤
Do you think you would expand the sprinkler system to the shed if it would make it safer?
No because it would have to be buried underground and the buildings not heated so it would freeze
You should make it where the emergency lights automatically turn on if the fire alarm goes off
You would need a whole bunch of different relays tied in to every circuit that emergency lights are on so it wouldn't be practical
Hey Nic, The Annunciator For The Notifier System When In Supervisory Beep's Just Like ANapco RP1CAE2!
Just came from trying to install my annunciator, oh my god how do you do this stuff I’m having so much dang trouble with wire lmao
suggestion for next test: for the house system: duct detector and for the garage system: pull station in the cupboard aka where the attic entrance is and where the ups for access control is
Nice! Feels like the October test was yesterday ngl!
Yeah I feel like that every month lol
Have you tried running both systems at the same time?
It won't do anything special

@@nics-systems-electric thought it would be a good idea on the grounds of code compliance considering the system is meant to be protecting something.

You should smoke out one of the bedroom, smoke detectors, in the next test
I do like that idea

It does help but then I can't switch lenses while recording
You should test all the smoke detectors on both systems in one video
Would take way too long that gets done annually
Anyone notice the other low frequency sounder he added in the bederoom where the panel is?

Why is no-one talking about the rat in the tower😅🐀🐀
Can you turn on the fire alarm and when the fire alarm is running you switch to generator
You could nothing would happen it would only go into trouble during the 18 second switchover
Can we do pull station at the front door in the house pls
Can you also add co alarm to house fire alarm system.
He has no natural gas supply so he doesn’t need
There are no gas burning appliances in his house, so no CO detection is required
Nice Test!
Can add hvac shutdown to your heatpump in the garage please.
No
@@nics-systems-electric🗿
Im guessing he can just doesnt want to

Do you test your GFCI'S Monthly per the manufacturers specs? I test them along with my fire/co alarms monthly.
No I do not nor do I test breakers
Do you have a weather station?
No I don't
You have some really good height on that wood tower to set one up@@nics-systems-electric
Are you going to try Wheelock and Eaton Eluxa led fire alarms?
I do have some wheelock LED strobes but I'm not a huge fan of them I prefer system sensor products
System Sensor is pretty good but I am used to Wheelock because they use it in my school District
I enjoy the video 👍
You have more spots in the access control system right? Why dont You put a reader for the garage door? That would be cool.
If the garage door had contacts that could be used to open it and close it however it does not
I see you added a new strobe near the panel

Is the co detector wired into the fire alarm system?
Hello what do you think the best panel you have is?
NFS-320c
1:16 fire alarm goes off 1:17 dog starts barking at the big sound from the fire alarm
Excuse me, we had two I saw two I saw the blue show blank two times
1:26 you forgot to close door leading to the garage
@nics-system-electric next test you should try and get a UK fire alarm ;)
I can't use them on either of my systems
@@nics-systems-electric i was just thinking for like a video idea but alr

Why would he? He isn't selling anything, plus rather have branded from where he gets an then from risky e-bay.
