    You couldn't be more wrong on noise level in the cab. Just this weekend I test drove every HVAC cab UTV. Kawasaki Ridge had the lowest cab noise by a large margin. Additionally, this 4 cylinder engine is rubber mounted for less vibration and lower noise decibels. 4 cylinder engines also deliver more reliability, more torque, and more miles than any Vtwin could ever dream of.

      Homie your comment just sold this machine to me . I was going to purchase the defender hd9 as I have the Outlander and wanting to stay can am family but having 2 kx And Kdx's in my much younger years that were indestructible and as I mentioned , your post lifting a huge weight from my mind . That would suit my property size and daily four season driver needs . Thanks From Manitoba Canada . Well you too Luke and Dirt Trax TV team and Fam .

      I have to disagree there. I have a 24 Defender Limited. A friend just bought a Ridge hvac. At trail speeds, 35-50 mph the Ridge is much louder. That said, if I hadn't just bought my defender before these were released, I probably would have gone with the Kawi. Better suspension, more power and 3x the warranty!

    Arched control arms, sway bars and three seats and I’d be buying one! I’ll have to go with a defender, but this is definitely one sweet machine!

    Why a inline 4-cylinder ?:
    Let me try and explain.
    Quieter.
    Less vibration.
    Likely to have a much wider powerban.
    And likely to have much longer longevity.
    I think the inline 4 was a great idea.

      The logic is sound, but it does not achieve these attributes. The twin Kawi has would have been a more suitable engine for this particular machine and the 4-cyl should be in the Teryx.

      Ya amazing machine, but do the homework. Any sustained speed above 40mph will destroy the cvt… Long term will prove if that is true or not. But for $30k plus I’m torn myself… 3 year warranty is nice until I have to deal with the warranty nonsense…

      Thank you! I've spent enough time in this machine and apart from the bucket seats, I'd classify this thing in the same category as a Ranger Northstar. It is a utility sport UTV with bucket seats. Happens to have a 4-cyl that makes 116 HP vs the 82 HP ProStar twin, but I'd love to drag race the two to see how that difference in power hits the ground.

    Recently, I was able to take a new Ridge XR out for a long drive on the trails. I really like the buggy and would have consider it, however, the high revving (humming noise in the cab) of the engine at 45km/h (27mph) for extended periods of travel at those speeds was really a turn-off for me. It's a great buggy, not the buggy for my style of riding. It was a disappointment.

  • @mimeeks3

    I drive multiple Ridge models everyday, and while the cab is nice and feels roomier than a Ranger, the things are too jerky when you have to do low speed driving, even in work mode.

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  3 місяці тому +2

      Disagree. This engine is torquey, but takes forever to get up to speed. It is also much heavier than a twin. To be honest, this engine has very little advantage over a twin.
