Mine did the same thing at about 1,700 hours. Miller service techs couldn’t figure it out and The local repair shop couldn’t either. Finally got ahold of the western region sales rep and he gave me a guy to go to who had the right stuff to figure it out. Hooked his kohler computer up to it and in 30 seconds said it was the oxygen sensor. Fixed and back in my truck in 30 minutes. About 2,800 hours now and the problem is gone.
Been torn about upgrading my 302 trailblazer to either new mpx330 Lincoln or another 325 with the excel package and ArcReach. Been really happy with my 2015 325 currently at 1,500 hrs and no issues whatsoever. I weld aluminum in the field on occasion and have been using the 325 to power my powermig 300 set up with a push/pull binzel gun but this is a pain and doesn't leave much room in the truck. I was attracted to the mpx330 Lincoln because it offers pulse but I just learned that the new 325 also has a pulse setting. Of course the 325 has the EFI and runs at a much lower rpm than the Lincoln saving tons of fuel, surprised Lincoln hasn't come up with this. Anyway I also ordered the ArcReach Suitcase 8 to capitalize on the new feature the 325 has. I'm just wondering if you have had any experience welding aluminum in the field and what I should be looking at for options
You can run a spool gun right off the welder, but then you are stuck with a spool gun. I have an HTP propulse 200 that I use for pulse aluminum on bigger jobs. I carry a miller multimatic 200 on the truck all the time with a spool gun for small jobs. I haven't messed with arcreach yet
Mine is a 2013 model and had around 2500 hours when it started, I ordered an O2 sensor right away but it didn't help. I've replaced fuel filters, fuel pump and a battery (old battery was too far gone) and its still not idling right, it would run perfectly fine at the beginning of the day for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and then starts acting up. Spark plugs were replaced in April and only had maybe 250 hours put on since then. starting to lose hope of being able to fix it myself, the closest welder tech shop is 2.5 hours away
@@hinds90 yes, ended up taking it in, they said one of the fuel purge hoses was cut and capped (by previous owner for whatever reason) they replaced it and it runs perfect again
@@maxstozhkov6646 I'm servicing mine myself with the help of a few from a FB group. Found bad fuel pump and replaced and got it running but once it warms up starts running bad and some times wants to run away. Started testing the o2 sensor and it's shorted so got one of those on the way.
@@hinds90 mine acted weird too and had it replaced as well, and it wasn’t a problem in my case. I probably spent about a thousand bucks on parts before giving up and taking it in. Hopefully O2 sensor will solve your issue
That's why I went with a carburetor ! Did injection once . Every time there was a problem , bring it in . Bring it in ! How the fuck am I supposed to make money that way ! I just posted a video on my channel about the trailblazer 325 . Runs great ! Welds great ! Die hard Miller fan ! My beef is the new cowling design . It let's water down in the cooling fins then freezes up . Can't turn it over . Been a Weldor self employed for 30 years . Never had this problem before . I'm a thousand miles from home . And my 6000 dollar Miller got some snow on it and won't fuckin run ! Third time in 2 winter's ! Geuss I'll modify the cowling beens how some stooopid fuckin engifuckineer couldn't get it right !
Does the bobcat 250 have an oxygen sensor? Mine is doing the same thing it does not go back to low idle and want to try changing out the oxygen sensor hopefully that’s my problem
We have 10 of these machines. They are junk. Plain and simple. Should have stuck with the carbureted bobcats. We have 30 or 40 of the Bobcats that literally have 1000s of hours on them and still run fine. Miller, you made a horrible machine and don't want to fix any of the problems. I will be buying red machines next year.

There are other things that could cause this problem. Map sensor, throttle position sensor, throttle actuator, bad wire, bad connection etc. If Miller can't figure it out, then I would be looking for someone who could hook a laptop to the Kohler engine ECM
Russellwelding. The problem on my machine was the longer it ran the throttle would start to surge. I would go from idle to past full throttle. It would start to spudder and then it would run rough and then it would rev way up.
Templeton Neptunist mine is literally doing the exact same thing. Idles fine for a awhile. Then sputters. Then revs up way past what it’s supposed to for a few seconds then right back down.

My 302 w air pac did the over revving replaced everything ! Under warranty. Replaced BOTH coil pacs. Fixed. My hair is almost grew back now.
Thanks for posting. Mine is a 2018. Almost 1400hrs and just started doing this. Of course the warranty ran out in January. Will give this a go.
You can back probe the wire for voltage using a DVOM to check for " dithering " .

Already replaced the 02 sensor and it is still idling rough.
My friend had one do that and it was the battery going bad. Ecm didn't have steady voltage
@@LostSkills my next though was fuel pump/diaphragm pump and tune up even though I have 40hrs to go to my next service. I’ll try the battery.

Just unplug the O2 sensor for a day see if problem goes away . That let know if o2 sensors bad .
Does the bobcat 250 have an oxygen sensor? Mine is doing the same thing it does not go back to low idle and want to try changing out the oxygen sensor hopefully that’s my problem
Speed sensor? Also the carb $ went way down after EFI, you can buy a complete carb assembly for less than $200 now

Yeah. That the 305g is still has a carburetor. It doesn't need all those electronics.
Just unplug the sensor.
