  • Join Roger for a virtual tour of Greenham and Crookham Commons nature reserve. This site is home to a huge variety of wildlife thanks to its mix of habitats, and has a fascinating history, too.
It forms the largest continuous tract of open heath in Berkshire with a mix of purple and pink heathers and golden yellow gorse, plus wildflower-filled grasslands and expanses of bare gravels - all easily accessible to visitors. During the spring it's an important site for ground-nesting birds including nightjar.

We'd like to thank the Heritage Emergency Fund for helping us to create this video and bringing a taster of Greenham and Crookham Commons nature reserve to you.
Find out how you can join thousands of others protecting and restoring more than 80 special places like this across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire: www.bbowt.org.uk/join-us
Greenham and Crookham Commons is managed by BBOWT on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
