I never cruised Princess, but really want to. However, I hear they are completely Dine My Way. I think the Dine My Way is a deal breaker for me on Princess. It can take me about 2 days to get used to my tablemates and different ones every night may be too much.
I have to give Princess credit for their good food and international menus even with cut backs and changes. I think it’s very delicious! Thanks for watching! 😊
You’re welcome! If all else fails, talk to the host/hostess on boarding day to let them know your preferences. They will work with you! Thanks for watching! ☀️🚢
Thanks for watching! Bring layers and you will have a fabulous time! I love that ship! I went to Alaska on Royal Caribbean last year and I have some videos about Sitka and Juneau and Victoria. @BonVoyageCruiseTravel on UA-cam. Have a great trip!
@Monica Dziuk Yes. I went the first week of May. I had a great time. I enjoyed the ship, and of course, Alaska was amazing. We had great weather in port. No rain even in Ketchikan.
That so interesting because I had the same waiters every night and the same table. I liked that! Just as for the same section, if you like to know the wait staff! Thanks for watching!🚢☀️
Ive never had a single problem in MDR or buffet (I tend to prefer buffet, my wife prefers MDR). But, every time we do specialty dinning?, Its a complete disaster. We do prefer early (5:30) in MDR, I usually get something small, then as soon as my wife is done I hit the buffet while she goes outside. Im not a big guy, I just prefer the large selection.
Usually the food and service is a step up. It’s true, the food is just about what that particular specialty offers. I find it adequate, but I don’t know if you can get extra portions. I’m sure it would be extra. I like the ambiance and the quieter, quicker experience. You have to really want that style of food, for sure. 👍
My husband asks for two portions sometimes as he is ordering say pork or lobster. They will just bring extra on one plate. I think the like to know when you order initially, so they can put in two orders. We never had a problem, we weren’t charged extra.
My family is cruising on Royal in June. The only time available to us is 8:40pm. I have young children and live in the Central time zone. That would be like feeding them at 11pm at night. My daughter has severe allergies to dairy and eggs, so I really wanted to have a set dining time with the same waiter each night. I'm so disappointed in the Dine My Way. I can't tell if there really aren't earlier times available (I started checking 2 months ago) or if the app just isn't working (app has been super wonky). My plan is to go talk to the maitre'd after we embark. Fingers crossed!
I would recommend talking to the maitre’d the second you board. If that doesn’t work, go to dine my way (usually another floor) and tell them your story. I have had luck showing up at first seating when the doors open and have been seated. Be persistent and yes the app is not working properly. At least for me on a recent cruise! The my dine my way usually starts around 645p and 1st seating is around 530p. Not everyone eats in the dining room all the time! Luckily 😊. Good luck!
Usually there is an early show (around 7-730) and a latter show around 9-930p. They are the same show. Sometimes they have a comedy show at 10p. Your show time can work either before or after your dinner. It’s up to you! Thanks for watching! ☀️🚢
I'm cruising on this ship in two weeks time sailing the south Pacific to Fiji. We booked early dinner sitting in the Allegro room. However, after watching some videos I came to the conclusion that the Concerto dining room looks nicer. Does anyone know which is nicer ?
Sounds amazing. I would suggest picking one and if you aren’t happy, they will change it! I liked the concerto, but the table location is key. Thanks for watching!
The menus change nightly and are available to view every day ahead of the meal in the app and it also is posted outside the dining room on the wall. The lobster night usually happens on a formal night. Fish is served throughout the menu nightly. It always is a variety of fish, poultry and meat plus vegetarian. I know of the buffet having a sushi night. It really just depends on the ship and chef. Thanks for watching!🍤🦞
Can you still order what’s not in the menu that night? Or say two lobster tails? Also, we purchased the Premium package, is there still a fee for the Premium restaurant? We will be sailing on the Sapphire in Alaska next week.
@@georgettemucci8152 the premium premiere gives you 2 meals in specialty restaurants. The premium plus does not. More than one Lobster 🦞 can be ordered free of charge! Dietary requests or special needs should be requested to the maitre’d and or waiter on embarkation day (just visit once you board) to tell them what you need. They usually want advance notice (24 hours). Have a lovely trip. I haven’t been on the Sapphire! ☀️🚢
Yes main dining room, buffet and slice pizza and international cafe and trident grill plus soft serve are all included in your cruise cost. Specialty restaurants and coffee ( fancy) and bar drinks are extra.
Look under the App Store and type in Princess medallion. It will show a Princess logo white with blue background. It is the newest version of the app. It will operate even smoother than the other. I think I may be showing the older app, but same principle!
My husband and I were on the Royal in the Concerto MDR in March, and we chose same time dining for each evening of our cruise. Twice, our table was given to another couple, having us wait until the guests were done eating. The second time it happened, I asked for another server. I'm putting it out there because there is no guarantee you will get the same table, server and time you choose. The restaurant hostesses have a way of empowering themselves to call the shots. I even got a dirty look from one of the hostesses after I asked to see our table after we boarded. I would like to add that my husband requires a wheelchair. We asked for a window and accessible table, we didn't get either...and we're Elite members....what a joke....
Wow that’s too bad. I always check out my table and definitely want the same table each night. I wonder if they were overbooked or something. It’s true, the dining seaters do have some power! I hope it goes better next time. Thanks you for the information!
Traditional. Where will you be able to get a professionally trained Waiter and Assistant who will become familiar with me and who will eventually know I what I want? Not many and Not enough unless you are continually flush with cash. You know what to do, it’s a good opportunity for you and others perhaps . Don’t blow it.
@@BonVoyageCruiseTravel On Feb 20th they made big changes to the MDR menu, Sabatini's, and it looks like the International Café has way fewer offerings. No salads at all I've been told. They also changed all the drink packages and raised the prices on everything. :(
@@cyrene7784 thanks for letting me know. I hope they will realize that the food is a BIG draw to the ship choice for many! Have you traveled with the new menu? Is it really lacking? I am going on a Princess cruise this month. I’ll report what I find!
@@BonVoyageCruiseTravel I'm going in May. I was so excited because I'd seen so many great reviews for the Fettuccini Alfredo and the French onion soup, but they've taken them off the menu. This happened a week after we fully paid. The also raised the prices of everything so we had to re-budget.😒 But I've been following people on FB and they don't seem to have too many complains about the new menu, so it will probably be fine. I'll be checking back here for your updates! :)
