Is Tony dead or alive? Let me know down below! 👇🏻
It doesn’t matter. It wasn’t the point of the final scene. It was a comment on how life is, and would always be for him. Maybe death came for him on that night. Maybe it didn’t. He will always be looking over his shoulder.
If the show ends by going to black, then it’s obviously us, the audience, the home audience that gets killed . We wanted to see more, but we got clipped.
aren't you supposed to be telling US that? at least the title of your video leads me to believe that
Um, he never existed. He's a fictional character in a fiction television series.
@@ArkoshKovash aren't you smart. You must be tons of fun to hang around
Meadow was Tony's guardian angel... He came out of his coma to her calls, the scene in the episode college when Febby could've shot Tony she was next to him and also when she took the bugged desk lamp are some instances. In the end scene she's too late due to her bad parking and I believe this is another sign Tony got killed
She'd have been sitting next to him most likely taking away a clear shot had Tony slid over towards the music player.
Meadow is the one who got killed like the end of Godfather 3. The End.
Even Angels are not safe from the curse of female driving
Genius
Yes, also Christopher coming out of his coma told Paulie and Tony that Mikey said "3 O'Clock". Meadow would have been sitting to Tony's exact 3 O'clock. Junior said when it comes to death "Everything comes in threes", 3rd attempt at Tony's life, Meadow's third attempt at saving his life, 3 people at the table, 3 onion rings ate, Carmella was the third person to enter the diner, he gets shot from his 3 O'Clock. Also I believe there's 3 pictures on the walls of Football Athletes which could be a mocking of "You never had the makings of a Varsity Athlete".
I don't know how anyone could confuse this ending with anything other than him being killed. The tension was built up just like every mob hit we saw in the series. You knew something was setting up to happen. Except this time, instead of seeing the actual hit, we experience it from Tony's perspective. Reality just ends. Everything goes to blackness and silence.
Bingo, its so well done
theirs no evidence besides the tension rising and ofc tony has a reason to be paranoid which he is meadow walking to the door….
@@joshytorres6881 You also dont see Bambi's mom actually die, but even children figured out that implication.....
@@valdie91285the same implication that Ginny sacks ass is so big that a 90lbs mole could be surgically removed from it

The reason on why he didn't smile in the last frame when seeing Meadow is because he found it weird her face of panic, because from her pov he saw a man pointing a gun to her fathers head.
That's not a bad theory at all.
he didnt smile when carmella walked through the door either, its just the way he is
@@interesting..8354 No, Tony didn't care about Carmela, at least, not as much as he cared for Meadow. She is the reason on why Tony didn't give up at his coma, she's the person he loves the most in his world and all he was waiting that night was to see her, well, he didn't in the end.
Genius

EveryTime I Hear That Song Don't Stop Believing by Journey it Makes Me Scared of Being Whacked as well!
Amazing feeling!
You probably don't even hear it when it happens...
I get sad whenever I hear the song. Just reminds me of the end of the show
One of my favourites interpretations of this scene is the angle that the guy in the members only jacket would approach Tony if to shoot him in the head, Tony’s right side, aka his 3 o’clock. Reference to what Chris says after waking up from surgery.
oh my fuck
@harryduckworth5788: Weird thing is I don’t think it was suppose to line up like that. Same with Tony telling Chrissy “I should strangle you” about the dog then ends up suffocating him. Many things add up in the show that I don’t think they were meaning to do.
my only issue with this is: if you take what Chris says to be true then Tony CAN'T have died in this scene, as it just cuts to a black void of nothing. If Chris' visions of the afterlife were real (and thus the 3 o'clock thing real) then why wouldn't Tony go to heaven/hell/purgatory too?
@@roryallden70 we are seeing his death from his pov. If you were shot in the head, you wouldn't see anything
@@roryallden70Excellent question!! Deductive reasoning!
Vito Corleone survived the assassination attempt
My father died suddenly when I was 16. I’m now 58. Despite the passage of 42 years, I miss him terribly every day. It’s very hard.
Hope you’re okay man
Alright. But you gotta get over it
David Chase lets us know exactly what happens to Tony when Tony enters the diner. When he's walking in from outside two red lights briefly appear on Tony (one at his temple, one on his chest). There's no source for these red lights and they don't appear again when everyone else walks into the diner. I believe Chase is letting the audience know that not only does Tony die in this diner but he will get one bullet in the temple (with his guardian angel Meadow not there sitting on his right to protect him - that's why her inability to parallel park the car gets so much attention) and one in the chest. As Chase has said, what happens to Tony is all there in the scene.
Holy crap man. I just rewatched this scene because of the red lights you mentioned. You can see that the source is a van in the reflection in the window to the right of the door. The one on his head is the 3rd brake light and the one on his chest is a brake light (should be the driver side). What's wild is AS SOON as Tony passes the lights, right before he opens the door (just a few frames), the lights turn off. 100% that's where he gets shot. I haven't seen anyone mention this. I was already convinced he dies before this, but this detail blows me away.
Tony Soprano died when James Gandolfini passed 🙏
All I know is Furio and Carmella are enjoying life on an olive farm somewhere............
The best comment yet
Lol
Wheres aj and meadow? Lol
Now THAT is the ending I wanted!
She defo went to Italy afterward to track him down
Tony was shot dead in front of his wife and children and they didn’t want to end the show with his family screaming in agony so they cut it a couple seconds short 😭
No . The home audience was shot In front tony , his wife and children. We get clipped. Our screens went black.
@@The495marauder You could view it from the audiences prospective, but the audience and the sopranos follows the viewpoint of Tony so the prospective of the audience IS Tony and that view ultimately goes black, meaning he’s dead and so is our show
But in a real story prospective the audience isn’t a character nor a factor and we all know he’s dead.
@@EliteXclutchX21 thanks for saving the rest of us the time. I don’t get it, I think some of the internet community prefer creating their own narrative and pushing it until others agree with it. honestly, who would buy Chase adding the other clues as just random scenes? Not once but twice mentions that you don’t hear the gun shot when you get clipped and they still don’t pick up on that or ignore it?
@@The495marauder thats so corny.
The dumbest interpretation of the ending ever
This never woulda happened if Tone compromised just once and had homemade onion rings off the radiator.
every time the scene plays and the lyrics say "dont stop" and then everything cuts to black, there's something about it that gives a mystique to it, the creator of the series said not everything has to got a closure, and the ending being exactly that it's just perfect
Somehow, as long as Mr. Gandolfini was alive and breathing, it felt like Tony Soprano still was too. But now they’re both gone. 😔
Edit: I had no idea that wind was a symbol for death. How cool!
Oh he was definitely breathing in the latter seasons
It took me 5-6 times through the series to accept that Tony *probably* dies at the end.
There's great, complex theories, but I came to a much simpler conclusion that many others probably have.
The flashback to Bobby and Tony on the boat, "you probably don't even hear it when it happens, right?".
We see Tony's perspective several times in the final scene. Every time that bell rings, we see his perspective. Twice with a random diner patron, once with Carmella, once with AJ & Member's Only Guy, and once more before the cut. We can assume the last one is Meadow as she's approaching the diner. Every time the bell rings, we see what Tony sees. The last time is, what I assume, the last thing he sees and hears - darkness and abrupt silence.
Same conclusion I came to..
Exactly. And the "Cut to black" was even referenced during the show. We got Tony's perspective multiple times to drive home the point of Tony's death. This story was about Tony, when Tony dies there's no story left to tell. The cut to black following that final bell was Tony's perspective after that bell. Black, nothing, sudden end. Death visualized from Tony's perspective.
I thought the same
Tony gets whacked in front of his entire family 🤔Interesting. Similar to how Phil got whacked. Be interesting to see how they react in the long term.
@@jowhit226 It's honestly horrible to consider, but that is probably what happens, if not them being killed along with him, which is even worse. Long term, the family probably falls apart and are permanently traumatized by the experience of watching their father get his head blown off right in front of them. That's not something you ever really recover from.
I believe what Chase meant was that it doesn’t matter at all whether he lives or dies. The family was no more. Every significant member was either already dead or behind bars. Ultimately, Tony failed as a boss surrounding himself with sycophants and idiots, he could not maintain one meaningful business relationship with anyone who’s smarter than an 8-grader. By the end of the series New Jersey truly were just a glorified crew.
I agree, and from the perspective of the audience, there was not much fun left to watch these people struggling anymore. Tony's death is the perfect ending for this great journey.
Ironically, Richie would have been the type of guy Tony needed at this point. Phil might even have respected the fact that he did 10 years in the can and been more reasonable.
Richie was paranoid, unlike Bobby and Sil, and despite being a pain in the ass, he was loyal to the family and fearless.
Truly the crew was just one glorified crew and they did all the things they did for nothing because it’s all over, why does it even matter if Tony lived or not?
The ending originally was open to interpretation but with James Gandolfini tragically passing, the only real ending now is Tony died right there and then in the diner. With so many signs pointing toward it. Especially with the , when it comes to death "Everything comes in threes" as Junior said. 3rd attempt at Tony's life, would have been 3rd time Meadow saved his life, 3 onion rings ate, 3 people at the table, Carmella was the third person to enter the diner etc. Christopher warned Tony and Paulie that whilst in his coma, Mikey told him to tell Paulie and Tony "3 O'Clock" which is where Tony would be shot from in this scene and ironically where Meadow would have been sitting if she didn't fail twice at parking and remember, she got it on her third attempt.
A small thing not a lot of people have talked about is that the song that plays at the beginning is the same one that plays when Phil gets whacked infront of his family.
Also that meadow is Tony’s angel protecting him. In his previous near death experience’s meadow is the one he first sees or comes to. Like when he got shot, it was her voice that brought him back. But meadow wasn’t here this time, and she would’ve sat right next to Tony at the 3 o’clock position. Again being his guardian angel.
@@theboard3476 And during the first episode of Season 6, the opening scene song has Meadow dancing in front of Fin and the song says "Gaurdian Angel" exactly at the point Meadow is shown.
Point taken/ but meadow ain’t no angel!
@@brettmajors69karaoke in tonys world she is...
"Family's dont get touched, you know that."
Tony had Phil killed in front of his wife and his grandkids in a gruesome way. Phil was highly respected by New York and his death was an insult. New york believed it was only right that Tony meet the same fate. That's my theory. After Butch agreed to back off, he felt guilty after seeing how Tony had Phil wacked so he went against his word and had Tony done up same fashion.
Didn't dat fanook Cineranter cover this da one time
You oughta know, sweetie
Tony: you and my father ran North Jersey.
Junior: thats nice
Sums up the story at the end all of it was BS.
Yes, my thoughts too.
It was all a big nothing
What do you mean thou
I always used to believe Tony didn't die or get shot at all but after taking a deep dive into the theory of Paulie and Patsy conspiring with Butch to have Tony killed and recently watching The Godfather trilogy for the first time with the scene of Michael shooting Sollozzo and that cop at the restaurant I think it's a possibility he may have died
It’s obvious he was killed. All the little details that are not siper clear would mean nothing and the cut to black so obvious. Tony even talks with bacalla about if death is a “cut to black”.
I don’t think he was killed. Being a long time fan of The Godfather I thought we were going to see him get killed. However it was immediate talks of a follow up movie in which Gandolini was supposed to star in. I believe the first theory that the viewers get whacked. Like him and Bobbie had mentioned before. You won’t see it coming or know it happened. The surprise ending you never saw coming and the moment you thought something was wrong with your tv. Now in the new movie you’re listening to a dead Christopher Multisante telling you a story
Honestly, idk if he dies or not. That’s missing the point. The point is that once the screen cuts to black, the story has ended. I’m sure life goes on for AJ, Meadow, Carmela, and, maybe even Tony. However, we’re not privy to the rest of their story. While Tony may not have truly changed he has resolved the reason why we were introduced to him in the first place; his panic attacks. He’s not getting them anymore and if he does, he’s managed to deal with em. Indictments are on their way, so whether Tony dies or goes to prison it’s all downhill from there. I believe the man in the members only jacket is a red herring. Only there to further our anxiety about what’s about to happen.
High PROBABILITY
Im Hurt Sopranos Theories never brought this up XD but there is a point as well where you can hear paulie tell someone "Its all yours now....." Then hangs up the phone and seems worried he may have been heard but its very casually done. I beleive 100% Paulie gave the okay to patsy to take over and used his son to obtain the whereabouts of their family dinner.
If I had a quarter for every time I saw one of these videos I’d have a private jet on 24 hour standby.
Seriously. Yes, Tony's dead. End of subject!
He definitely is dead.
The question people ask now is who killed Tony Sopranos?
@@Whiteboykun agreed chase himself said that in an interview last year that he was driving by a diner and thought how tony should get hit in a place like that
Don't stop believin is my favorite song ever but I always get creeped out when it plays outside ngl.
Yea if I hear that song when I'm out or in store etc. I always look around 🤣 lol 😂 HMMMM 🤔
Three things
1 Loved the video
2 Little Italy is a lot larger than just one row of shops and cafes its more like 10 square blocks, still smaller than back in the day but I digress it's an artistic liberty
3 As I was watching this I couldn't help but think that if you were to compare the six seasons to real seasons. 1-2 was the spring, youthful and innocent. 2-3 was the summer, brutal but still vivacious. 4-5 was the fall, things are still good but getting bleak. 6 was the winter, cold and unforgiving.
I live in NYC. It's a single block.
There was no song at the credits . All episodes have a song that describes his mood . The music is over
Let's put it this way. David Chase went through great lengths to NOT show Tony die. In the end, he couldn't bring himself to do it on screen.
I think he did it tastefully. I know I don't want to see that
Plus there was talk of a movie
This is probably the most convincing perspective I've heard so far. Great work man. I personally always thought he died, but I admit there was a detail or two that I didn't catch. It really makes sense the way you present it.
Excellent video. It appears now that the vast majority of people believe Tony was whacked in the diner. And Chase's recent comments can't be ignored. However, this would have been an odd, if not unique, hit if done by the mob. First, hundreds of mobsters have been hit in restaurants, but I can't think of a single one in front of their nuclear family. Tony wasn't in hiding anymore. Why there and then? Also, I don't think Butch would benefit any more if he backed out of their recent agreement. If I was Tony's enemy seeing the feds close in on him I'd root for the inevitable life sentence and not use my resources to kill him. Paulie and Patsy must have seen this as well. But the fact we're still talking about this after so many years is what made it so amazing.
Yeah but tony also shoved a gun in butchies mouth, beat the ish out of butchies dude over meadow incident, killed Phil in front of his family wife n 2 grand kids n people, even teens taking pics and videos, and more im sure, butchie ceased the opportunity to finally have right ok to kill tony, im sure paulie played ball cuz hey they wouldnt put me in a come or kill me im good with ny, or maybe they would later betray him but for now survival paulie made it as hes last seen just sun bathin but the cat did go near him, so maybe or so paulie. Was the rat all along, also dude thst tony killed his brother from his own cree im sure wouldnt mind tony getting whacked...
Also the very next scene after Eugene hangs himself Tony is shot by Junior. I think Members Only represents all those who Tony did wrong getting their revenge.
Beautifully done. I agree, while I didn't think or want him to be dead when it aired live, after time passed, all the evidence adds up that he's dead.
David Chase Did an interview two years ago I think And admitted Tony was killed by NY… he wanted to do it coming out of the tunnel but settled on the diner to be surrounded by family… It was pretty pissed off when he admitted that he wasn’t thinking
I’ve seen much more sound evidence of supporting the “Tony died” theory so that’s where I stand. There’s so much foreshadowing, to the point where there’s no way it’s just accidental. It also just doesn’t make sense that it would cut to black if he survived. I think that a lot of the theories stating Tony lived are far-fetched at best and honestly just seem like they’re coming from a place of denial. I think Chase just didn’t want to show Tony being murdered in front of his family.
The Intro guy Tony chased killed him at the end
I think the scene that Edie Falco shot for Many Saints of Newark featured Carmella reflecting on Tony’s death. I wish that scene wasn’t deleted, and wonder why such a pivotal scene would be scrapped. Maybe they thought the movie would do well and wanted to save the reveal for a sequel/tv spin off ?
Because Many Saints was about the ESSENCE of New Jersey and the riots where as Sopranos was about power and control. Carmella represented greed and that wasnt the theme of Many Saints.
Finished the Sapranos. Never noticed the dialogue referring to a lot of these points, really opened my eyes to it.
Great video, a well summarised and supported look at the woefully nihilistic themes of the last episode of a great, great show.
Youre right bout what you said at beginning. Your video about the ending is exactly like every other video about the ending
The screen goes dark because Carmella finally shut the door
Why did Meadow run into the diner? Did she subconsciously know her Dad was in danger? Remember when Tony was in a coma and he heard Meadow calling Daddy and it stopped him entering the house with his dead relatives.
Pretty sure Carmela mentioned something about Meadow being late because of her birth control, it probably had something to do with her being pregnant
hahah what a coincidence, you upload this the second I finish watching the final episode
Really interesting video.
I hate how the audience was shown Bobby's funeral. Just so detached, cold, and presented as an afterthought.
I don’t necessarily agree that he absolutely died. Schrodinger‘s box. 99% of what you described, to me, signify the end of Tony soprano, one way or another, dead, or in the can. 80-90% chance of indictment? Yeah, Tony’s done. Maybe dead, maybe imprisoned. Either one. Both signify the end of Tony as we and his friends, family, and colleagues know him.
Yeah but luckily he gets offed that night, his last vision being family n meadow....ding...tony...ur dead
Schrodinger‘s cat, not box
and what animal is there all over the episode? That cat
Giving a nod and all the foreshadowing, especially with The Godfather type of opportunity in the diner, everything short of Tony actually getting it the way Bobby, Jerry Torciano, or anyone else who was shot leaves it technically to speculation.
Your content is awesome! You should expand and have Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul Theories. Keep up the great work.

Great video. Totally agree with everything except the part about Eugene. Even if Tony OK'd Eugene's retirement, he'd been flipped and the FBI wasn't allowing him to leave.
Tony most definitely DID NOT DIE. He sees Meadow and they ALL live ON!!! THEIR STORY ENDS. NOT TONY!!! Tony is the hero. His family is the hero. They meet up, doing their own thing. They have food and they go on living their lives which is not a dream life any more. This is my interpretation of the last and final scene of the series 'The Sopranos' which according to me was FANTASTIC!!!
It's something about the way Meadow behaves that tells me that Tony lives. She is not scared or sad or depressed about her father already, intuitively. Instead she's all about daily chores and hassles, big and small like parking and trying to be on time etc.
There is routine and continuity there!!
I think it's obvious he dies; so many people have pointed out reasons why (and today I learned a lot more thanks to you) but what I take from this video is something else entirely. Something I missed, perhaps because I'm not an American. The fact that Tony is a man in a neverending battle, trying to change but never succeeding is a fact. What I never saw before is that times were changing drastically, to a point where his life as a capo di tutti would never be the same. Too many rats, organized Mafia not being as effective, security ramping up after 9-11. These points are evident to me thanks to your video.
Tony would have made it out alive if he had the makings of a varsity athlete.

God I love your explanation of what is going on in this final episode as well as the final episode itself because I myself can relate to this episode and what is going on in my neighborhood at the moment, all the old stores and restaurants that been in my neighborhood my whole life have all been slowly closing down and becoming nothing but abandoned buildings with longtime history in them.
It’s really sad to see because a lot of those business owners lived in those buildings and worked in those stores/restaurants their whole lives and now, it’s all over and they have moved on somewhere else.
All the old residents in my neighborhood have all moved away and the houses and apartments all look so different from what they have been for the majority of my 39 years alive in this planet, and now have residents who look at me like I am the stranger in my own hometown neighborhood, it’s a sad and crazy feeling to be able to witness things that have flourished and then slowly withered away into nothing and molded into something completely new and foreign to you.
Real life “End of an Era” type stuff.
This episode captures it all perfectly,
Could anyone else relate??
Yeah...with family n friends n thr fakes to deaths
My great grandfather who came from Italy built the family house. We went to visit my great aunts and uncles and great grandmother once a week when I was growing up. Everyone knew everyone on the street and I could play outside. There was a neighborhood dog to play with, a trail that led to the sand bank. By the time I was a teenager it started to change and people moved away and died and you can’t walk the neighborhood safely anymore. My uncle lives there now all alone.
@@alphabetsoup6681 Yeah, it’s a sad reality my friend, things change, we just have to learn to survive through it all, change is always inevitable.
Don Vito Corleone was not killed at the fruit stand buying oranges as stated in this video, he lived, went to the hospital where Michael saved his life from the hit men.
really attentive video.
Regarding the songs on the jukebox, you missed perhaps the most telling one. The lyrics to “Turn, Turn, Turn” by the Byrds come from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, one of the most common first readings at Catholic funerals.
I wonder if David Chase was planning on whacking Tony from day one. I'm just going by the theories in the video
He's a fvckin disgrace! Da Many Saints Of Newark, please my ass.
Ride da painted pony let da spinin' wheel glide
You ever get checked for Tauret's?
I cannot have this conversation again
I recently rewatched the entire series and I want to share my speculations on what happened after the finale:
1- Tony is absolutely dead, killed by the man in the green jacket who entered the bathroom shortly before. The bathroom door provides a perfect line of fire for what I'm sure was a head shot. Precisely how Phil Leotardo died.
2-As we have already seen in the series several times, the killer, after shooting several times, drops the gun and walks out of the restaurant.
3-Carmela, Antony and several witnesses scream in shock. There is almost certainly blood on the table and on them.
4- Almost certainly in the immediate period after Tony's death, Carmela will try to organize the funeral with the help of Paulie and Patsy. A.J. he will fall back into a deep depression due to the shock of seeing his father killed before his eyes.
5- Due to Tony's fame, after his murder Meadow will not be able to become a partner in her husband's law firm due to ethical implications. Due to the shock she suffered, she did not remember to change her anti-conception pills and soon became pregnant with her first child.
6- The project of building and selling Carmela's house will go up in smoke due to pressing expenses, both for AJ's care and for the alleged legal involvement in Tony's affairs. He won't be able to get his hands on Tony's hidden foreign accounts because Christopher and Paulie failed to assassinate the Russian in the woods.
Christ Carmela, I can't do one of these tearful nights about if I'm alive or if I'm dead, not tonight, I just can't.
I think David Chase wanted to leave the ending OPEN so that if they decided to do a follow up movie Tony's character could still be alive. The uncertain ending gave them more options, but then Jim Gandolfini's untimely death prevented any future movies involving him. Also, please consider that through out the decades the NY families had a strong rule against whacking a made man in front of his family (wife and kids) and it has been widely supposed that if Tony did die in the final scene it was a NY family ordering the hit.
A death knell is the ringing of a church bell to announce the death of a person. Historically, it was the second of three bells rung around death, the first being the passing bell to warn of impending death, and the last was the lych bell or corpse bell, which survives today as the funeral toll. Hence the ringing of the bell at the restaurant door.
Somehow after many many rewatches, I literally JUST noticed that when tony gets shot at by the black hit man, it’s orange juice that he had just bought and that also gets hit by the bullet…not quite an orange, but orange juice haha. Like he was facing death but not QUITE there yet
Good one
He likes it with some pulp
Adding to the final scene nod to the godfather scene, Tony says about the onion rings,”best in the state “ the captain in the godfather refers to the veal as “best in the city”
Also on the jukebox the song “Any way you want it” I think is chases way of saying you (the viewer) decide who you think killed Tony as their could be several possibilities
My guy narrating the video sounding like the Burger King foot lettuce guy
I always felt that Tony got shot in the back of the head. What I always wondered is if Carmela and the kids got killed too.
It's 50/50. If it was an authorised mob hit than i'd say no,they survived as it's stated multiple times that families are not targeted. If it was a revenge killing all bets are off. I would like to think the family survived, but their lives and the luxury they're accustomed to are about to change exponentially.
The ending scene was explained earlier in season 6. This happened when Tony was on the boat with Bobby, while they vacationed at his uncle's house. They talk about what would happen if you got whacked, and they both agree that you would never see it coming until it was done. Essentially your life would fade to black instantly, just like what happened during Tony's death scene
I agree 100% Exactly
Richie wore Members Only jackets, too.
Great video, you did miss the significance of the viewpoints to show us, the viewer, that the black is Tony’s view. It’s really the first time they ever show his viewpoint, but they show when he walks in the restaurant and each time the bell rings, he’s looking up and we see who enters; so the last bell ring and him looking up to black is a subtle nod that he’s dead.
There’s also the importance of three’s; this assassination will be the third attempt on his life, in the episode there are three times Tony looks behind him and is surprised someone is there, and Meadow trying to park three times. If Meadow had parked right on the first try, she would be beside Tony obstructing the view of the gun man and Tony says himself their code is family is off limits.
If it's from Tony's point of view...then why is the camera facing him??
The camera would face AWAY from him if it's from Tony's POV.
The Hollywood reporter had an interview with David Chase last year and confirmed that Tony died
Chase has flip-flopped massively on the issue. What he says 15 years after the fact is rather meaningless, since he has said the exact opposite as well
@@MrTCHOSS tony got whacked lol
The actor that played agent Harris said in an interview, that in the script, the guy in the members only jacket comes out of the bathroom and walks towards Tony. The interview is somewhere on UA-cam, it’s called something like “Sopranos cast reacts to ending”
i’d like to think tony didn’t die here but eventually went to court and then jail and lost everything except whatever he maybe hid for wife and family. and i want to think paulie became boss but it was like when he took over for the san generao festival. it wasn’t the cash cow it once was. So the jersey family becomes a shadow of its former self.. depressing… The End..
"a clear HHHHomage" lmao
what is amazing is the fact that in all these years of theories NOBODY ever bring out who is clearly the responsible behind tony's death
I think butchie and the dude from tonys crew who tony killed his brother, also paulie being given a pass by ny also ny dude that tony kicked the ish out of as well bcuz he was rude to meadow
@@n.b.l.5709 yes that's fair but then i recently rewatched the series and i'm 100% sure it's Janice..
@@maxpower5936 lol janice? Why
@@n.b.l.5709 last season is highly focused on Livia-Janice parallel. Same reasons as Livia plus Junior money. In the end the 3 parking attemps are a metaphor for the attemps of murder on Tony by his own family members..Episode Sopranos Home Movies has all the answers with multiple hints about it and at the end in the old tape Janice shoots Tony with water at 3 o'clock angle..
@@maxpower5936 not buyin it
Do a show on Ichabod Crane?
If you go all the way back to season 1. When Meadow is in the choir and sings the solo - the song is “All Through the Night” which is a Welsh air about guardian angels.
The sopranos is the best show of all time and my favorite and the ending was perfect my heart was beating out of my chest and I literally was sweating and screamed out WTF but eventually liked the ending
Tony died the 1st episode of season 6 titled “members only” junior shoots tony..fast forward to that finale scene we see tony watching himself..he’s wearing the same shirt as when junior shot him..then members only guy gets up goes to the bathroom then lights go out...we never saw tony escape “members only”...such deep detailed storytelling
Just finished the series myself, Tony definitely got killed, it’s the only fitting conclusion to this show.
I totally understand the other side of the argument where Tony lived, it’s absolutely possible. The thing is, his days were numbered. At this point, Tony has regressed as a person, he’s even worse than when he started in Season 1. His regression is made clear when he started his shit all over with AJ’s therapist, except this time he’s more privy to therapy & how to better garner sympathy from professionals like her.
The New Jersey mafia is essentially finished; everyone is either dead, scattered, or in Carlo’s case, flipped. Tony’s lawyer even told him there’s a very good chance he’d get indicted & would end up in jail because of it. Could he avoid it like he did other things? Sure, I can see that, but does the show really need to dedicate more seasons for this whole thing to degrade that far? No way, Tony’s story is over, there’s nothing left to tell, assuming this is the ending people side with.
Tony getting shot (especially in front of his family, which is horrific) is the better way to end this show.
It's all about the symbolisms They're eating onion rings, onion rings are circular, symbolizing the circle of life ergo Tony and his family are fine .
Communion wafers. Last Rites.
Always with the scenarios. Very allegorical.
To me, it seems really seems obvious. One of the principles of any visual media is to show only what is important. Why show a family night if it doesn't add anything to the story? He got killed, playing and simple. There's even a crescendo of the music until it stops. Why would there be one if it is leading to nothing?
Noah made good on his threat and knocked Tony out
they gon talk bout dis forwvwer, the wholw point
When i first watched that final scene i automatically thought that tony was killed. The guy in the members only jacket walking to the bathroom right behind tony, it was obvious. it just kills me to think about him being murdered in front of his wife and children like that.
What is your explanation for Tony wearing different pants when he goes to see Junior from those he's wearing in the diner scene?
3:59 crazy how much Jackie looks like Richie there.
Vito wasn't killed ,he had a heart attack in the garden
OK, you've convinced me.
David Chase has already let slip that Tony died at the end. This isn't a debate anymore!
omg, I just finished the show and im kinda speechless 😂😂
While I think it's more likely that Tony dying was the intended conclusion, I personally prefer to think that it's sort of a Schrodinger's cat situation, where we're being given a last little snapshot of what life will be like for Tony, whether he lives or dies. He's going to spend the rest of his life jumping at every shadow, wondering if every person that walks past him is waiting to blow his brains out, whether it's the guy in the Members Only jacket or some randos on the street. It's a karmic end for someone whose whole plot in the show was founded on his anxiety that he's condemned to spend the rest of his life waiting to die.
In the last episode, there's a scene when Tony is outside and there is no wind... Everything is very still. Which I think means, the great wind that's been carrying Tony is over
He flunked his Holsten
