white guy blinking the original doll is not the sterotypical Chinese look that majority identifies as "Asian look" but is more of a Malay look like me, big forehead, straight eyebrows, almond eyes, tanned. But the final result does look more Hispanic, agreed... thus my disappointment.
@@ashtherealqueen I think it's beautiful either way. Also maybe Caucasian features are just prettier on dolls. Like the way Koreans do make-up, they go for round eyes as well to look more doll-ish...
You should do big dolls like these with alternative styles! Like a goth girl, a cyberpunk, a fairy kei girl, a decora girl.... that would be so cute I think
Just an idea, but a cool thing to maybe explore and challenge yourself is different eras of hair and makeup? Like historical like Elizabeth 1 or Marie antionette, or more modern like 60s and 70s, etc. I don't think I've seen that before. Would be cool to see!
Now that you're done, wrap it back in its original packaging then give it to a kid. Don't say anything, pretend that's the way it came. See if that blows their mind.
Absolutely stunning! I would love to see an elderly person repaint, like a set of grandparents. I think it would be sweet. Also thank you for these videos. I really enjoy watching your work come alive.
So I had my TV on autoplay in the background while I cleaned and when I took off the vacuum cleaner, I heard, "Then I take pure acetone and remove her face," accompanied by laughter. Never looked up at a TV so fast in my life. Very good content. I could watch these all day.
her nose sculpt is so cute! you gave her such beautiful brown eyes, and her hair is lovely :) as for ideas - have you ever tried to crate an older-looking doll? you could make wrinkles and make her look like a beautiful stately older lady, maybe victorian. :)
Yes they look like children’s teeth 😭 when I smile, you can’t see my gums on top just the lower half of my teeth, that’s what she should’ve done! Everything else looks just magnificent.
Do you remember the show winx club? It was such a big part of my childhood but the dolls they created don't do justice to the show 😖 They are so ugly and I would love if you could repaint some and do the show justice. Maybe use any dolls that you think would be good for the repaint not necessarily winx club dolls cause they are hard to get. I would love to see that video and I think nobody has done it here in UA-cam. Love your channel 😘 you are very talented.
This brings back memories! I had a Flora doll, and my sisters had the one with black short hair (Muza(?)), and the blond girl (forgot her name). We wanted all of them but that was too expensive. I wonder if mine is still somewhere in the attic or if my mum threw them away 🤔
Yes!! I always loved Bloom (I believe she was the red head) and Stella, it’s was one of my favorite shows as a child! I’d love to see a repaint of those dolls! ^-^
she looks really amazing! but can i give a small tip? don't forget the smile in the eyes (make the underside a bit curved inwards like a real human when it smiles ) on small dolls it still looks really cute without. but on bigger dolls like this it looks a little bit off (even if the eyes are beautiful like now)
Love her hazel brown eyes, I was starting to think you had something against them. I love watching your repaints. You are so very talented and I love that you share it with us. Keep doing what you do best, Poppen!
THIS. is why I came searching. I had one as a child and vividly remember 'coloring' all over her w a shiny black magic marker...ah, regrets...anywho! I came across a my size barbie on the side of the road today and suffice it to say, this is not an uncommon practice. to redeem my former transgressions, if only in my own mind, I stopped my car immediately to 'rescue' her. I hope to find something here on UA-cam to help restore my new friend (as well as myself)
They like to complain that she doesn’t look black now. Did this doll look black before the repaint? No! She looks Latina or even Philippine to me...both before and after!
I would love to see you do a large barbie head like this but a nationality with darker skin like african. I think it will be a challange because 1) getting her skin that colour to beguin with and 2) making her details show on the darker skin. But i think you would make her very beautiful.
I don't mean to offend, but I honestly think she looks terrifying after the repaint. The glazed look in the eyes really isn't working for her. :/ EDIT: Because apparently Poppen Atelier and her fans can't tell constructive criticism apart from regular rude comments let me say what would improve the doll significantly. She needs to make the irises smaller and paint them closer together so it doesn't look like the doll is looking in 2 different directions. Also, less nose contour and toned down shading on the teeth would really help. Take it or leave it, you're welcome.
And what to do then with the hundreds of people who liked it? Or with me who also finds this doll pretty? Or it's just your opinion that matters? You didn't get that much support from other people though 😄
Well, first of all, we weren't hating on you or your doll. We were just stating our opinions. And you are acting quite childish by saying that our opinion doesn't matter. Wow, she's beautiful!! This is probably one of my favourite repaints you've made. To me she looks like Belle from beauty and the beast. I love her!! 😍😍😍. I'd love for you to try repainting a doll like those cute Harajuku dolls, but make her cute and little girlsy 😍

I’ve always wanted to see someone interpret Kida from Atlantis, the Disney movie! I think she’s quite unique in design and the silver hair is beautiful! Good work today!
I think seeing a repaint series to make the characters from Jim Henson’s The Labyrinth would be really awesome! I definitely think you could pull off an amazing Jareth The Goblin King, and would be interested to see how you’d interpret Ludo. Of course if you’re familiar with the movie :)
She's an absolutely beautiful blushing bride and looks so realistic! And for a suggestion, how about a sweet little lolita maid, use one of the cutest dolls you have!
it would be really nice to see a black/poc/darker skin doll without such a thin nose- the idea that only thin noses are beautiful is a view caused by western beauty standards and colorism that has plagued people of color for centuries now
Granny Winny Actually, in Asia it's beautiful to have thin noses, too. It's not a western thing, it's an African thing and even then not all of Africa thinks that way.
I have to agree with the earlier reply. Things like lightening skin and having thinner/smaller/delicate features isn't exclusive to Western Beauty standards and claiming as such is a little misleading. When you have countries like the Philippines that literally advertise soaps or beauty products that "whiten" your skin. Or even the ancient practice of foot binding in China. Not endorsing these ideals, just saying that they are not exclusive to the west and not everything needs to be about race. People can also have features that may vary from what might be expected for their race and that in itself can be attributed to different things. This also doesn't account for those of mixed heritage. More variety in molds and skin tones is always a nice thing to see though :)
Naoto Shirogane i will grant that yes, much of east asia has had the lighter-skinned beauty ideal since ancient times, but in other places (such as the philippines and india) skin bleaching products are a result of the years spent under european imperialist rule. when i say “western beauty standards”, i dont mean “in the west this is considered beautiful”, im reffering to how these standards have been imparted on the rest of the world from white countries that took over those lands. and i never mentioned “delicate features”, just wide/flat noses. i’d take a moment to think about why such a term, created and popularized by europeans, is used to describe long noses (instead of something like strong, which of course would imply that those pure white women were brutish or savage) i’m mixed race, with light-tan skin and caucasian features, which makes me fall into a category of beauty that darker skinned people are not allowed into (which is bs). i can’t tell you how many times i’ve had to deal with people saying shit like “i only like lightskins :)” like it isnt something gross spawned from a bigger issue of colorism. this isnt an issue of “x culture currently also has this standard of beauty!!!”, it’s about recognizing how our history has been shaped and changed by the presense of colonialism im not trying to start an argument here, but we should all take notice of these things and apply them to daily life :/
I was more interested in a discussion than argument and I feel like I have a better understanding of what you meant as a result. As for myself I am also mixed race with lightly tanned skin and Asian features and even an accent that makes me a constant outsider in my own country. All good.
I'm new to this channel but have they ever been repainted to look like existing people. It would be amazing to have one look like a beauty guru with one of their tutorials recreated
Hi, she's beautiful really, Your makeup on her is very very cute, more better than the factory's makeup! Its your second big head of doll you repainting on, and your work is very great, as always!! 😊😊😊😊
Super pretty!!! Have you ever though of painting a manikin head or some completely blank? I feel like it would make a great challenge. Anyways amazing video like always!
Your talent is obvious and i think you really made her overall prettier but honestly? The teeth effect sort of made her look a bit crazy especially with the glazed look. However the contour and eyebrows are amazing. Maybe next time leave the teeth whole white like it came?
Looks amazing! My suggestion is repainting large doll heads like this one but making them into different Disney princesses! Also my favorite is sleeping beauty so you should definitely do her 😉
This has inspired me to do a repaint on my old Barbie head! Your repaint is beautiful as always! ❤️ also, why not try creating a doll in dollightfuls style? No doubt it would be fun!
She’s so beautiful! You’ve really outdone yourself. Especially on her lips and smile. However since human teeth are made of bone you probably could have used an ivory shade to make her teeth look even more realistic than you already did, if you wanted to. She’s still a very lovely doll and we can all tell how much time and effort you put into painting her face
Great improvement, especially in keeping her natural skin tone and hazel eyes, instead of the blue or greens you usually did. It's great to see you branching out and getting more confident and exploring. Great work!
I think it’d be totally cool if you did repaints through the decades! So basically a doll reflective of each decade starting from say the 1910s up until present day!! I’d definitely love to see that 😍
Shes beautiful! This is one of my favorite repaints of yours!! You have such a distinctive style and it really makes your dolls unique! I look forward to seeing more!
Such a pretty complection 😍. I love your beautiful natural looking brows. Would you ever do very dark brows like Jennifer Connelly with her complection.
Repaint a black dolll but keep her natural beauty and don't reshape the nose. You say your dolls are more"elegant" with thinner noses. Not true! Keep ithe natural features.
Sinbio Monet not so much about thinner than smaller. Smaller noses are more feminine, larger more masculine. Don’t think she looks more white. I’m a brown person from a family and an ethnicity with people pale as paper or dark as chocolate and we all have a wide range of features, so my personal perception of race is wide.
The doll is lighter, she took off some of her color when taking off the other paint. It would be nice to see a black doll. But maybe she doesn't know how, which is unfortunate. Or doesn't want to know how.
the mouth looks off to me.. but i'm confused because I don't know why it looks off... I think her teeth look like they're shaded too much to me or something like that. Other than this strange thing she is beautiful.
cherish boss maybe bec the teeth are of the same sizes, maybe...just maybe. usuallt the 2front teeth (central incisors i think theyre called) are bigger
cherish boss it’s because there is a smile on the mouth, but not the eyes. With a real smile, the eyes crease a bit, and without it, it looks a bit fake which can be offputting
Beautiful work, but I wish you hadn't highlighted her skin so much. I believe it's unintentional but it feels like she's been made much paler to make her more beautiful, but dark skin is beautiful too (and let's be honest, the original skintone is barely medium)!
Poppen Atelier Just keep it in mind in the future? A lighter hand or different technique might be necessary for dark skintones so they don't get overly pale ❤️ I love your work, I just think this comes across with the wrong message even though it's not intentional.
Absolutely amazing! she looks way better now ♡♡ is it possible to make a cute Korean doll? I'm so excited to see how it's going to turn out! probably as wonderful ^^ thank you again for making this video please keep up the good work!
Wonderful work ! I was a bit disappointed that you changed the shape of her eyebrows, which I think was a huge part of her soft expression. But I'm quite impressed with her new smile ! Thanks for the video :)
Can you take a big Barbie head, and give her flowing black hair, a lightish skin tone with a few freckles and purple eyes and bluey-purple lips? Please?
I think it would be cool to do a series of doll repaints from around the world: Chinese, African, South American, Middle Eastern, Irish etc
Yeah I watched this one because I thought this might be the Asian doll version but in the end the features were still very caucasian.
Divine
Doll looks more Hispanic than Asian.

You should try one of the hairdresser practice heads you can buy on alliexpress!
Rose from UK yes!
You should model a doll after yourself!!! Amazing as always!
Hadley Larson I aggre
I was thinking the same
You're never supposed to model a doll to look like yourself. It's bad luck.
Is it? I had no idea. I just knew Dollightful did it and it was super cool

Molly McIntosh I love the idea of an older looking doll! I hope she will do it.
I love this idea, especially since barbies are mostly all of the same age range.
That would be cool, but would it work just with pencils and paint? I feel like the shape of the dolls is meant to look very very young.
The teeth kinda throw me off... makes her look kinda scary. However, the art is amazing as always! Maybe I will learn to love her smile.

I'd LOVE to see the centaur girl from monster high turned into a maccob fawn of some form! Keep up the good work! I love watching your magic 💟
Somehow you managed to turn a black girl into a white girl
thunDaClap01 lmfao 😭😭😭😭😭she really did her face doesn’t match her chest
Black?
She's a tan doll.
thunDaClap01 LMAO
@@Tonsmel My point exactly.
This is truely amazing, I'm speechless
Gorgeous! It would be great to see some villain characters with more mimic and emotions
I'd love to see a barbie in drag!
The teeth look scary though
ReGremlin ikr
Such a pretty complection 😍. I love your beautiful natural looking brows. Would you ever do very dark brows like Jennifer Connelly with her complection.
She is beautiful 😍 could you repaint a disney animator doll?
Also this work deserves an oscar for realismn. I love it!
Repaint a black dolll but keep her natural beauty and don't reshape the nose. You say your dolls are more"elegant" with thinner noses. Not true! Keep ithe natural features.
Sinbio Monet and ( I think) the doll somehow looks white now? Like why?
Sinbio Monet not so much about thinner than smaller. Smaller noses are more feminine, larger more masculine. Don’t think she looks more white. I’m a brown person from a family and an ethnicity with people pale as paper or dark as chocolate and we all have a wide range of features, so my personal perception of race is wide.
The doll is lighter, she took off some of her color when taking off the other paint. It would be nice to see a black doll. But maybe she doesn't know how, which is unfortunate. Or doesn't want to know how.
And those teeth are a bit creepy
.
I love love love when you repaint the big dolls!! You are amazing!! 💞❤️💞
the mouth looks off to me.. but i'm confused because I don't know why it looks off... I think her teeth look like they're shaded too much to me or something like that. Other than this strange thing she is beautiful.
cherish boss maybe bec the teeth are of the same sizes, maybe...just maybe.
usuallt the 2front teeth (central incisors i think theyre called) are bigger
oh no, i was wrong. nevermind. theyre bigger hehehe..
her creations are beautiful.
cherish boss it’s because there is a smile on the mouth, but not the eyes. With a real smile, the eyes crease a bit, and without it, it looks a bit fake which can be offputting
You are a very talented lady! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. I would kill for eyes like that!
Beautiful work, but I wish you hadn't highlighted her skin so much. I believe it's unintentional but it feels like she's been made much paler to make her more beautiful, but dark skin is beautiful too (and let's be honest, the original skintone is barely medium)!
I didn't mean to make her more pale, just some spots are more highlighted than the others
Poppen Atelier Just keep it in mind in the future? A lighter hand or different technique might be necessary for dark skintones so they don't get overly pale ❤️ I love your work, I just think this comes across with the wrong message even though it's not intentional.
I agree
She looks beautiful. I'd love to see oriental dolls made up or a Zombie doll.
Beautiful 💗💗💗
This is one of my favorite ones you've done... Sweet expression
She looks a lot like a celebrity from a magazine cover page. 👍🏻
There's so many experts in the comments 😂 I doubt most of you could do anything half as good. You did a great job poppen atelier 👍🏻
Absolutely amazing!
she looks way better now ♡♡
is it possible to make a cute Korean doll?
I'm so excited to see how it's going to turn out!
probably as wonderful ^^
thank you again for making this video
please keep up the good work!
Wonderful work ! I was a bit disappointed that you changed the shape of her eyebrows, which I think was a huge part of her soft expression. But I'm quite impressed with her new smile ! Thanks for the video :)
I think she is my favorite so far 😍
Wow so elegant!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You should try a Marilyn Monroe remake on a big doll head, or a regular doll. I think that would be absolutely cute! 🙎🏼♀️💋💄♥️😍☺️
Amazing talent you have there! Thank you for sharing.
You should do a Kim Possible inspired doll
Can you take a big Barbie head, and give her flowing black hair, a lightish skin tone with a few freckles and purple eyes and bluey-purple lips? Please?
so cute, i'd love to have her :3 as she's a stunner!
