One candidate said nothing of real substance and the other embarrassed themselves. Kamala gave mostly defensive answers at the beginning but was more on the attack during the second half, while Trump employed his usual tactic of more personal attacks. They also did not even ask anything about her plan to tax unrealized gains, which is absurdity. They didn't get on Trump about the health care nearly enough because I agree that "a concept of a plan", is nothing in substance either. The moderators didn't drill either side really for vague answers.
That's not true. Trump talked about how Harris will do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison. He talked about how illegal Haitians are eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. He heard in from... someone. How much more specific do you want him to be?

Stuff like that is still pretty much fluff at this stage because there is a whole process that it needs to go through in order to actually be actualized. Giving numbers is all just a promise that may or may not one day be actualized. It’s all a “what” but not a “how”, whereas a plan is all in the “how” to get “what”. Hence why nothing of real substance was stated, by either candidate for that matter. If you look at past debates, like for example with Obama and Mitt Romney, Obama gave specific steps as to a “how” to achieve “what” on each issue. Same with Mitt Romney. Both of those candidates had different ideas but their overall policy came with a plan as to how to get it actualized. Saying stuff like “I will get a X amount tax credit” really is skipping important details because in the process other important things may be cut to achieve it. We are already over budget and adding these types of things will need to compromise on other existing areas. Otherwise we are even further in the hole.
I don't think it was Trump's best moment, when he asked Harris why she hasn't done anything about the border. It has led her to talking about him killing the Border Bill for political benefits. It made him look really bad.

I suggest people who already watched the debate to watch the video again but without the audio, so you can also "read" the body language of Trump and Harris, focusing especially on facial language, and you will see how Trump didn't even dare to make eye contact with Harris, he didn't even turn his head to face her at all, he looked like a "scolded dog" that is being scolded because he ate the chicken your mom left thawing in the kitchen sink and the neighbor called your mom to complain she caught your dog digging a hole in her backyard to hide a piece of chicken and ruined her favorite flowers. Harris kept looking at Trump and at the camera (the audience and figuratively the jury before which she was making her case) most of the time, while Trump kept looking down in the direction of the moderators and avoided making eye contact with Harris.
