- Snag'd Ep. 37.
We headed out to Palm Beach Reef. When the first session doesn't work out you have to adapt. Our second trip was VERY successful.
Enjoy the vid and make sure you give it a thumbs up and leave a comment.

I was working at Palmy yesterday then today this vid is in my suggestions. That is how our phones track us. There is a digital footprint for everywhere your phone goes and that interacts with algorithms. 1984, Brave new world is here.
Gotta love those runs. Bummer to lose some but it happens. Still heaps of fun there. Great episode
The runs get me so excited 👌! Thanks mate 🍻🔥
Great session at Palmy! Yewww 🤙🤙🤙
Sure was 🔥
Awsome vid mate great job on those Macks, I cant believe they wouldn't touch a yack!!! Would love to know what massive thing cut you off. Keep up the good work mate. I cant wait for these restrictions to ease off so we can both wet a line together 😄🎣
Thanks mate! When these restrictions ease we are going to have a good ol fish! But yeah the yakka didn't even get a touch. It was swimming well in the water too.
Good one been a while since I been out there was always a good day whether we got much or not most of the time I found small slugs or small pillies were best like frogmouths
Yeah copy that! I did throw some small slugs around but didn't have much luck. Will definitely try more on the lures next time!
Hopefully I will win a RSL unit there. Too cold for my bones down here. Cut a couple of wooden cutting boards and attach between the two lips if the aluminum siding wont scratch your boat and keep knives sharper.
Great vid mate just got back from peel island epic squid session got 18
The weather was perfect to be on the water this weekend 🤙
Great vids mate!! Have passed you a few times as youve been either heading in/out of currumbin too... hard to not see the mad hueys prize tinny haha
Hahaha that's it hey...tinny sticks out a bit! Thanks mate appreciate it.
Beautiful day. Ashame that reef is like a car park
Yeah lots of boats. Definitely makes fishing a little harder.
Come to dingo beach we got good gts coral trouts big brim mangrove jacks but the drives a long one
The wahoo get around at palmy
And they will swim straight at you
Keep the reel going they are fast
After watching rokitikit's vids i was thinking the same thing. Good fun having a good run!
True that mate! Have a look at my last vid from Palmy!! BIUUUUG HOO👌🏻
Subscribed!!!!! You explained everything with a great narrative. Where you anchored or drifting. Regards from ex South African living in Greece. Well done.
Thanks mate 🔥! Good question, I was using my minn kota and locked in one spot. It's great not having to use an anchor - stops fish wrapping around the rope!
@@snagdfishing Well done thanx. Watching your other vids. Gods country.
Good work legend do you take your boat out to the 12s and further
Thanks mate. Yeah I've taken my tinny out the the 12s. Haven't really been further than that.
keen to check it out in a yak. although will be too tired coming back in!
Its an easy paddle mate done it a few times
When its on its on
A squad of stand up paddle boarders were hanging around the reef haha. But yeah fighting tide and wind on the reef might get s bit tiring. Hopefully you're fighting a fish in the first few drifts.
Good video stop thing the knots like that get the app fishing knots lite great app easy to understand and you will learn aswell but still great video thx
Cheers mate, will look into it! Didn't like the figure of eight knot? Haha. 👌🍻
@@snagdfishing cool mate it's a great app I use it all the time reduses my busy offs great video looking forward to following you chow bro 😎
How long is ur tinny as I am in the look of getting one - some what like u have just some idea .. that was some awesome fishing !!!
Thanks mate - we had a bit of fun out there. This tinny is 4.4m long. Stessl Apache.
Dave can you do a kayak vid
Would be keen to see how you target fish on the kayak
You probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid lost my account password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Westley Carmelo Instablaster ;)
@Cairo Cory Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Cairo Cory It worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Westley Carmelo no problem :D
I went few times no success. Did you use wire trace and sinker? What time around was it? Once I hit bottom when crossing crumbin bar..and hit by wave.. my heart nearly come out.
I used a wire trace but took off the sinker. Seemed to work well just floating them out the back. It would have been around 9am. On a low tide that bar would be crazy haha. You've done well to get out!!
Hey man! Could you highlight the gear you use in your videos? Cheers
No worries mate. The rod and reel was a 4000 TD SOL III reel and a Swamp Donkey 4-9kg rod my daiwa.
20lb braid, 30lb leader. 20lb steel trace with a smaller 2/0 hook. Worked very well on Palmy.
Hey mate what size reel are you running?
I'm running 2 reels. The one catching all the mackerel is a 4000 size TD Sol III. The other is a 5500 size Pen Slammer 3!
I usually hate fishing on bait but that video is pretty good aye ! Might do the same sometimes :-)
I know the feeling. Lately I've just decided to use bait a bit more and I haven't been dissapointed. 👌🔥
scottish prince 🤣
Where you running wire if so what pound
20lb multi stran. Pretty weak but did the job 👌👌
I really want to join and sail together. I live on the gold coast
What bar did u come on at ?
Currumbin Bar
Snagd Fishing cheers 🤙
i need to get out there!
Kayak session! Haha.
@@snagdfishing I would if my parents let me, maybe we could team up with the yaks? They'd let me if I was with a mate I reckon
Yeah I'd take my boat before the kayak. The amount of boats we saw is crazy...id need a flag on my yak or something.
@@snagdfishing we could go in the boat, just gotta keep the 1.5 haha
What rod and reel setups are you using mate
Hey mate the rod was a Diawa TD Black Swamp Donkey 4-9kg paired with a TD Sol III 4000 size reel and the other reel was a Penn Slammer 3 5500 size.
Hey mate. Do you could perhaps message you privately? I would just like to get some advice?
Many thanks ps. Big fan
No worries mate. Just find me on Instagram. Link in my description 👌👌
Nice work mate! Palmy is my local which I fish from a kayak! I managed to get a 1.6m Hoo off palmy a few weeks ago! Check out my latest vid if your keen 👍🏻
Thanks mate. I just checked out your latest vid. That's crazy haha. Well done. 🔥🔥
@@snagdfishing haha cheers mate! Yeah some wild gaff shots in there haha
What hook is that and is the rig unweighted
Size 2/0 J hook and yes unweighted. I did run 20lb steel trace as well.
