Great video! I think the reason you were catching so many dogfish was because they sometimes school up and go into a feeding freenzy, scaring away some of the other present fish.
Basically anywhere between Kenai and Homer can be good the fish migrate and move around, there aren’t really spots, just access to the beach and finding where the fish are ‘running”
Those sharks are actually pretty tasty. We tried a few with only flour and it tastes better than halibut, honestly. You just can’t eat the belly part as it has a membrane that goes through the entire fillet. Just the back but the meat is excellent. Don’t even taste like fish.
I see why you left comments off but I think you did the right thing with baby moose! He was likely to get hit. Momma mooses don't say sit tight right here and I'll be back. I would have kept him/her without a doubt! Probably end up lunch or dinner by itself Anyone who says you're not supposed to intervene is a liar. You should go check on her
The comments could potentially have to make me take the video down on that one if it gets negative attention. ADF&G thought we did pretty good in the situation too. Had their input and blessing, I just don’t want the comments to screw up an amazing viral video in the likely case it goes viral
Just wanted to mention that I think you did the right thing, but @Anthony Man moose like some other deer will occasionally plant their calves to eat, bit they never leave eyesight. Always a good idea to contact your local adfg warden in a situation like that, so it seems like you did the right thing. I am open to any corrections if I was wrong/mistated any information.
