- Welcome to the party! We've been staying at Cape Point Campground in Hatteras, North Carolina. Today we are going to take our 4x4 rental offroad, all the way south to the edge of the island where you can't go any further by car. This area is known as the Hatteras Inlet and it provides a completely different experience than Cape Point, at least right now with a sheltered, Gilligan Island, Tropical Island sort of feel. Come along and join us as we explore this tropical paradise in another episode of Alfredo BaseCamp: Hatteras.

I absolutely LOVE that Wind Noise…. That is the way Hatteras really is
Such a good point!
When that wind stops- take cover from the yellow flies and mosquitos!
@@bradhogan3784 oh my God lol that is the most correct statement ever! I couldn't believe how many bloodsuckers there were lol
This was one of the most informative, well put together UA-cam videos I've ever watched. Well done sir. I've been going to Hatteras for 20 years and you nailed it.
Well done. Enjoyed the drone perspective. It’s a beautiful and interesting area.
I’ve been there by boat, and plane. But never in a car, so thanks.
Thanks for the kind words! Oh, it was so much fun driving around on the sand. My pleasure! Cheers.
This was fantastic! Thanks for sharing. We go down there every year for summer vacation. We’ll be there in two weeks. It’s like our home away from home down in the OBX. This is a very special place that is near and dear to so many people. Can’t wait!
My pleasure!! Oh man I'm jealous! I hope you have a fantastic time on your yearly visit! Make some great memories!
Wow. Awesome job documenting the changes of Hatteras over the years. This was a great vacation especially the jeepy beach rides. Lol.
Thanks Mom! Yeah, I had an awesome time there! Can't wait for this year's beach adventure!
One of my favorite places
Great vid, fun place to 4X for sure. NC has the best coastline for 4X imo, deep sand too so there's a challenge.
Thanks! Oh man you're not kidding! That was an incredible amount of fun. It felt free.
great video. Thanks for sharing. Your Parents are awesome.
My absolute pleasure! Thanks for watching! My parents loved your comment haha
Bring on part 3🎉
Great great video...great narration too. I'm 45 and I remember as a kid fishing on the north shore and being able to look across and see Ocracoke not too far away. This would have been in the early 90's, probably close to that 1993 photo you had. The ferry to Ocracoke used to go directly across too, now it goes waaaaaaay into the sound and back to get across.
This was a great video! I'm planning a reverse route coming off the Hatteras Village ferry. Keep in mind the ORV access can change accordingly with bird and turtle nesting- some of the ORV access may be closed. Anyone planning this route check the ORV closures accordingly. And anyone driving on the sand- air down to about 15 psi. They will ticket you if you get stuck and block the beach passage.
@@bradhogan3784 thanks for the kind words! Also, thanks for the tips. That was a great point to share for everyone. The low psi seemed to be the most important factor. With that, it was a breeze!
Looking forward to part 3! Thanks!
Enjoyed your video my friend. I was stationed there in the mid 70s while in the Coast Guard. Love the drone footage.
Thanks! Super cool to hear you were there in the 70s with the Coast Guard. Must of looked so different!
@@RyanAlfredo Yes It did.
@@RyanAlfredo There was a saying on Ocracoke about the mosquitos, " The first wave of mosquitos fly into town & the second wave lands at the Ramp 52 airstrip and walk into town."
I remember camping and surfing there during the 70’s , the walk from the campground to the south beach seemed like walking through the Sahara 😅 for a kid . Glad to see that it is still wild . Fun video, thanks!
Thank you for your comment reminiscing about the same location in the 70s! Such an amazing place. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Great video man! I hope you keep making more.
Ryan, did you have to get permission to fly the drone in the National Seashore?
Nice Backaroo Banzai theme
It looks like you can walk over to Ocracoke on the sand bars!
400 agl
What month did u go here??
The mosquitoes will eat you alive have fun
Wind noise is unbearable
@@holdinitdowninptown I agree. thanks for the feedback! I'll try to remove that in the next videos! Thanks for watching

Some illegal drone work just for good measure...
