These reviews are much appreciated and have gotten me through some tough times.
Hope things get better for you soon DJBaffler
Both Prisoners and Enemy would be perfect Villeneuve films for you guys to check out xxx
That dinner scene at the end.. the soundtrack.. Benicio del Toro as terrifying and captivating as ever ❤
I live 4 hours from El Paso. It’s pretty surreal when you see Juarez while driving on the freeway. Only a large fence to separate us.
No wall?
@@DSN262 just a black iron fence. There is a train track that separates the border somewhat. So it’s fence, freights then another fence.
@@Neo_Vandole A 30ft wall is a start.
Kate signed the paper.. you both missed that?
She must certainly signed
This is a proper take on the cartels and narcos which are often romanticized in series and movies, this film approaches the grey reality of that, there are no good sides and the concept of justice is blurred. Villeneuve and the cast did a great job portraying all those aspects in a film format
This movie was terrific and terrifying, and felt really grounded in reality. Villeneuve is now a top-tier director and it's well deserved.
I've been a fan of Benecio Del Toro ever since he teamed-up with Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
This was a great movie. Even though this is before movies took a real tumble in quality, this still felt special. Great chemistry and performances for the entire cast. It looks fantastic and the action was visceral. I unfortunately don't comment on every video and I sometimes only watch them later as a workout video, they really help keep me motivated. After a few health issues I've fallen behind a bit but slowly catching up again.
I always try and encourage people watch more of your videos, even if it's a movie that isn't your thing. When I found your channel I binged everything you'd done before and loved it. You guys really put thought into your videos, you're observant and funny. Whether it is Sci-fi or animation, new or classic, budget or blockbuster, mainstream or indi... you always give it your all.
Although... I'm still disappointed that you didn't like Clue.
The action on the bridge is a very realistic engagement
The best part of this is shedding light on how the CIA gets around Executive Order 12333 and just uses local LE / FBI as pawns. The Dominoes bill scene is at the deportation center is hysterical because CIA blames FBI (with total immunity) & FBI says it wasn't us and then asks local LE for help ( the cigarette) - This very short scene was fkn hysterical .....CIA woes lmaoo
A third Sicario film based on the current state of affairs at the US border and how the Cartels are taking advantage of all that could be a great film.
How do you tell everyone you're a MAGAt without telling them you're a MAGAt? Simple, simply spew the same tired border lies and misinformation that Trump and the right keeps spreading, ignoring the fact that the Republicans and Trump specifically refused to sign the most conservative border bill ever put to congress. Also, how are cartels taking advantage of the border when 90% of Fentanyl and other drugs are brought into the United States by US citizens at legal ports of entry? Stop ingesting fox news and listening to Trump and maybe you'll get the real facts.
I love Benecio del Toro, you guys definitely need to do Prisoners from the same director.
I'll watch any off the shelf reviews video even if no interest in the film. I've even sat through Venom 😂🎉🎉 thanks guys, may it continue
I'm a big Benecio del Toro fan. He's an acquired taste but I enjoy him. And he's in my favorite movie The Usual Suspects.😊
Saw this movie in theaters and i was glued to the screen from beginning to end. I became a fan of taylor that day on. Hell or high water and Wind River are also amazing films
I re-watched Sicario, because hadn't seen it in a while, wanted to properly enjoy this video! lol. It is a terrific film and your video was also terrific :)
What a masterpiece of a movie! An instant classic!
Oh man this was my request when I signed up for the Patreon! I’ve been following you guys for many years, feels like you’re old friends at this point and it’s awesome hearing how much Gary enjoyed the movie and knowing it was me who convinced him to do it!
I’ll never cancel the Patreon thanks for another great review guys and thanks for doing the movie I asked for
A hidden gem I MUST SEE! Thanks guys!!
Regarding Alejandro's actions at the end, I think a reviewer said it very succinctly: "He was owed."
I'm pretty sure Josh Brolin's character is CIA or "Other Government Agency".
And Kate wasn't SWAT. She was a special agent who just rolled with them on certain raids. If she were SWAT, she wouldn't have investigated anything. If Brolin were DHS or NSA, he wouldn't have had to hide his affiliation (clearly CIA).
Absolutely brilliant movie!
The way Denis Villeneuve builds the tension in it is amazing.
I wish he directs a proper horror film one day!
Great guys. Great review. Great film. It’s just all great! Not seen this in a while so I know what I’m watching tonight!
"Welcome to Juarez."
The BEAST.
Oh my god, so excited when I saw this in my recommended!! Love this film. Such quality.
Another awesome review guys! 👊👊 I'm sure both of you will be covering Villeneuve's other films in the future.
I was watching another reaction to this movie and they were really going in on Emily Brunt's character 😂
With the current state of the border and the sitting president I will be respectful and not say anything. I haven't seen this yet but because you guys are the fucking kings at reviews I will press on regardless 😎🤘 love ya lads and thanks again.
PS I'm all settled in at the cabin and the reception isn't as bad as I thought, take care lads and shelfers.
Funny how you watched Benicio on 1 movie and thought he was a terrible actor and avoides any movie he was in; then watch him in a good movie and flex his skills, to realize he's amazing.
Every actor has starred in stinkers at least once or twice, especially the greats.
Tayloe Sheridan and Dennis Veulineuve are such a good combo
Cartel documentaries that make important accompaniments to Sicario - Heli and Cartel Land.
Have a good one, Shelfers! 👊
The Wasteland Shelfer (p.3)
"Only about 3 miles left of petrol" the Shelfer thinks to himself, not nervously, but definitely knowingly, knowing another loot stop will be needed before reaching the first town of Trader's Bluff on his way to the fabled Shelferville. Switching off OTSR on his portable viewing device whilst slowing his dune buggy down, the tiny penny sized satellite dish whirring on top of the small box comes to a slow stop in sync with the buggy. All that can be seen is desert, in every direction, with feint remnants of ruins in the horizon, dotted around sporadically. Our shelfer leaves the driver's seat and sets his hard worn leathery, yet still sturdy boots clanking onto the dust of his latest pit stop. Walking to the boot where he stored his treasured petrol can, Shelfer grabs a foot long spanner and walks out into the desert about 50 meters away from his buggy and begins to pound the desert floor with the tool. At about 10 minutes of pounding, he sees some rocks rolling towards him ever so slightly, but his keen eye notices and knows it's coming. He stops the pounding and places the spanner into his ammunition belt across his chest. The rumbling gets louder, rocks start moving to where anyone, even the feint of eye would notice. All of a sudden the Shelfer starts a determined run for his buggy, the rumbling definitely increasing, and following! About 5 meters away now, Shelfer is about to hop into the dune bug, when behind him surfaces a large metallic rectangular droid like being, like a tottem pole but no markings, just plain, shimmering metal, blasting a loud shrieking alarm, some kind of sentry from times past. As the shelfer hops into the drivers seat, the faceless bot is hovering behind, shedding the dust and sand it was just swimming through and has clearly identified it's target as a green laser beam points at our Shelfers buggy. Clicking a red butting on his stearing wheel, Shelfer's driving seat shoots upwards with a jolt and positions him in a 10 foot high position with two mini-gun turrets facing forwards, which our Shelfer can use to shoot down this sentry he lured in. With 100s of rounds of ammunition to spare, the Shelfer offloads, accuracy is on point, and hits the bot before it can even fire back 1 round. After 30 seconds of shooting, the bots shrieking ends. The Shelfer hits the same red button and his seat lowers allowing him to leave his buggy. Approaching the bot with utter confidence, the Wastelander gathers his petrol tank and collects what he can from the damaged husk of the sentry. "This should get me to Traders Bluff by the morning" our Wasteland Shelfer says to himself.
Man I love this 👊❤️👊❤️👊

Sicario is a brilliant movie in every way. The sequel is as bad as this is good.
Who knew that trying to make a punk hobbit as the new Sicario would be a terrible idea?
I love this movie. It's bleak and dark, but it just worked with me. And i really liked the sequel too. I hope we get a trilogy some day. Villeneuve has impressive list of movies.
This movie is f**** awsome! Thanks for a great review guys!! 👍you are the best! 👍 The followup of this movie, Sicario 2 is also awsome! Looking forward for a new podcast from you guys!
You all need to watch Prisoners from the same Director
Some else already commented this but u guys really need to review prisoners its an amazing film by the same director
Welcome to Juarez . Tension was full on 😢
I love, love, love this film. Part 2 is cool too.
Villeneuve is a master director. Even tho this film felt there was one boot on my throat and another shoving steel tipped toes in my balls, its such an engaging film
Prisoners (2013) is also excellent
I love your film reviews/ discussions. You insightfully pick up on things brilliantly. Like what Kate is wearing at the end.
Watch and review Incendies please. Personally my favourite Villeneuve film.
This is a great movie. The second movie was a great movie too. Hopefully a third movie will get made.
I don't give my support to many... however you guys are cool.😊. Carry on.
Good stuff! I really enjoy Roger Deakins too! I also like the second movie!. This movie kind of are a modern western and is a great watch together with Hell or high water, No country for old men, Wind River.
Still think this is his best movie.
Love Sicario 1 & 2
Great movie. You must see the sequel.
I haven't seen the movie but your review could make me watch it.
Maybe it is answered in the movie, but one question came to mind : what was Emily Blunt's character's actual purpose in the movie? From this review I get that it's her POV, but what would have been different if she wouldn't have been part of that team?
Look up EO 12333 / Executive Order 12333
Basically - CIA charter prevents them from operating within the US unless there is FBI or local LE attached to the operation. They also never disclose intelligence to those outside the agency...she's an outsider because she doesn't have the clearance that only CIA have (catch 22) so she is just a pawn / loophole
Never saw this.
shelf life! 🎉
Shelf life indeed.
The sequel is top class one of the very few.
*turn up*
What't this dissing my boy Benicio and "he always plays the same role"?
I would love this movie more if not for Emily Blunt. I don't ever find her compelling in anything.
Sounds like an incel
@@marklachney420420 sound like a loser dope head
great movie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but the sicario 2 suck !
Ha I said I love this movie when I started this video 😅🥰🥰
