Hope you’ll keep these up, there are only 3-4 guys doing really quality turn of the century horror readings on UA-cam right now, would love to have one more!

Thanks so much for this lovely comment. It's become a Christmas tradition on this channel to do a spooky story reading. I'd love to do more but they don't get many views, sadly.

Lovely. Enjoyed that. Reminded me of Spine Chillers.

@@michaelbartlettfilm ....Though I'm a little worried that, if you read any more stories that paint Diverse types as being in league with Satanus - and which feature the cast from The Black and White Minstrel show; that your channel might get cancelled by the woke mob.

Thanks for your fireside reading, Mike! I enjoyed this. 👍 I was not familiar with the story. It did not end the way I was thinking it would. As I listened, I found myself expecting a Wicker Man type ending.

I know, right? It really should be him who gets sacrificed! I just like the story for its spooky village atmosphere, a posh Oxford don saying "what utter rot", and for giving me the chance to do my Somerset accent! Dash it, it's a curious caper and no mistake!

@@michaelbartlettfilm I like the story too. But it does seem like Hayling (sp?) should have been the one who got sacrificed. Or even better -- the posh Oxford don!
