I very much love the Sidewinder. It's the only other weapon i've gotten up to G2.0 (which isn't all that much of an accomplishment, honestly). The potential for the Sidewinder to be a Pseudo-Anti-Titan weapon is very high. Especially when you pair it with Amped Weapons. If most of your shots are critical hits, you can easily drain a bar and a half of that titans healthbar. And when equipped with the Increased ammo and reload speed, this thing can chew through titans. Only when you have amped weapons though. When you don't have amped weapons, it's better to just use it against infantry, and to build your titan faster.
I've been messing around with the LMGS besides the devotion (hate it and the hemlock) and the Lstar has been really amazing at first I I was alright with it but after you learn what distances to hipfire or ads at I become pretty effective with it, and after taking advantage of the huge projectile aiming for chest area 50% lands a lot of headshots you don't get the headshot kill very often but I definitely noticed a decrease in my time to kill. The spitfire on the other hand was a very rough road but once i got the hcog it leaped up monumentally in my personal weapon tier the difference was just night and day and I highly recommend getting that sight before you up the gun.
IMO, the grenadier class is the coolest of all. They could've stuck to those unique and powerful tools as their mainstays. They should have. Kraber should have Firestar rounds, too. Kills pilots in one shot anyhow, but is useless against grunts and bots, as well as titabs, due to the important of each shot and reload time. With Firestar, at least it could burn small groups of NPC, burn turrets and annoy titans.
If you're going to keep running the SMR for another video, try switching one of your attachments to Gunrunner. I noticed that in a lot of these clips you're moving *painfully* slowly, due to being on the ground when you're firing. Gunrunner pairs especially well with the SMR because you can literally run right through enemies without slowing down. In close quarters, you're basically going to shove the gun in their face and instakill them. Those times when you're out in the open, or you fall and have to be on the ground for a bit, you'll at least be sprinting. That alone should improve your survival rate, and thus your performance overall. For your boost, give Amped Weapons a try. An amped SMR is a better AT weapon than any of the dedicated AT weapons, and that's even before you factor in critical hits. Running the MGL with the SMR is definitely overkill, because the SMR has only *slightly* lower DPS before you amp it and more DPS after you amp it. That secondary slot could be better filled by one of the Wingman pistols to pick off those Pilots outside of the SMR's most effective range. You *can* try to lead shots from across the map, but I've found that it's easier to use the Wingman Elite as a pocket Kraber and the SMR for all the room-clearing and Titan-chipping. I also noticed that both your bumpers are bound to your Pilot abilities. Am I correct in assuming that you're running the default control scheme? I would recommend at least looking into some of the other control schemes, Bumper Jumper specifically. That should bind your tactical to A and jumping to LB. It sounds crazy, but it's going to let you jump and aim at the same time, instead of what I'm seeing at 0:43 where there's a little bunny hop and then a little spin as you fall back to earth. I can't see your hands, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that you hit jump, then had to bring your thumb back to the stick to actually aim, and in even that very short time your trajectory went from slightly upward to falling back down. That same engagement with Bumper Jumper would have allowed you to make that hop *while* aiming, then pop your jump jets if you needed to in order to hang in the air a little longer or adjust your flight path. Combining these things, you should be able to move around the map *at least* constantly sprinting, and hopefully layering some slides and wallruns in there wherever possible. We all have those times when you hit a wall or everything you try just goes wrong and you end up moving at a crawl, but regular walking speed should be the exception rather than the rule. I don't know if you knew, but those long rectangular boxes you're chilling next to on Exoplanet can be used as walls to fling yourself into wallrunning routes. Get close, tap jump to get a tiny hop going, and then take a really short run before jumping off. If you time it right, you should get the huge speed boost that comes with wallrunning, but from short boxes and shipping containers rather than the larger walls Pilots usually aim for. This can be done on any map where there are boxes or other small perpendicular surfaces littered around. They're a great way to start routes, or even just make yourself harder to hit for those times a Titan is trying to kill you. This gun is seriously one of the most versatile weapons in the whole game. It just takes that extra little bit of knowledge and skill to make it shine.

Protip: If you want build time, try the Battery killstreak and steal them. Stealing and stabbing batteries into allied mechs both boost your time by massive amounts.
Firestar rounds for the first mod slot as an option would also FEEL good. Even forgoing potential multi-foe piercing kills, slapping a Firestar on someone's face with the Kraber would feel HEAVY. Like slapping a pilot with a flaming pie.
would recommend using extended magazine and speed reloader on this weapon, the hipfire is actually not that bad u can wall run and bhop with this weapon at close range with a good pistol as a side arm and using amped weapons to fight enemy titans, you could even use a amped wingman for those 1 shot kills on pilots that sneak up on you, also the gravity star can help with bringing hipfire shots onto a small area u can get someone stuck in the grav star and then spam hipfire you SMR

SMR is fun because it doesn't matter who your shopting at. The missiles have no range damage fall off, they can also hurt titans. SMR can be used for targets close or far, titan or pilot.
I love the SMR, especially on Angel City. When amped, it can melt titan health like an anti-titan weapon. I tend to use it with my 'standard' pilot loadout, with phase shift/stim and arc grenades. The amped weapon boost is probably the best when using the SMR just for the anti-titan boost.
I've been working on leveling the SMR up lately, and it's been a bunch of fun. As of today, I've gotten it up to Gen 2.9. That being said, I feel like it needs just a little bit of a boost to its splash damage, or perhaps it might be better to say: it needs a little splash damage. What do you guys think?
i like all the grenadier weapons. i used to not like the smr, but I've been using it a lot lately as well. put a a-wall or amp weapons with it and it will shred titans. this is what I do with tone stackers. whip out the smr, a-wall, and charge rifle with that no charge shot and it does against them.
I run the SMR with the RE-45, and Auto, and it's a lot of fun. Because the SMR is effective against Titans and the fact that it's a primary weapon, for a change you can actually have an anti-Titan weapon that has infinite ammo. This is great if you really want to try out a pistol but a bit worried whenever you come across an enemy Titan.
My favorite build right now is the double take with the scope that reveals enemies and using the electric smoke as cover to shoot through since enemies are still revealed through it.
Been using the SMR a lot lately and it's fun af. Imo it's better to hip fire with it and use it from medium to close range. Run it with stim and rush someone.

If SMR really needs first-to-fire setup, it seems like Phase Shift would be a better pairing than Stim, wouldn't it? Maybe Gravity Star too so you can stick enemies in place and take your time catching up to them and melting them with the SMR when you're good and ready. Personally I struggle to decide between Stim and Phase Shift. On the one hand, Phase Shift saves you from dying a lot more effectively than Stim, but Stim is a more proactive ability, i.e. you can use Stim for more than just defense.
+Troll Of Justice I've been struggling as well. I started using phase shift but found myself often trapped in some rough situations, probably because of my play style, where speed was the only answer to making a clean getaway. I've seen better results for stim for the reason you mentioned, it's proactive. Let's me setup flanks with big pushes and even boost my way out of rough spots.
I've just been trying to perfect my holo pilot and SMR capabilities. They pair rather well since holo pilot lets you get the first shot off most of the time. Still learning new ways to use it more effectively. Im trying to work on being able to consistently kill pilots while flying with the SMR. I've almost mastered running and gunning on the ground but flying is a different story... Btw gravity star is a very nasty pair with the SMR. Just becomes a tornado of missles
Gen3 SMR here. So okay I'm not exactly what you'd call a master with it. However. If you pair it with say, amped weapons or (god forbid) a-wall, you can do some serious dmg to titans. I mean it turns into a bonafide at-weapon.
Alternator is awesome I find this game very balanced as I keep trying other guns and doing well and titacles as well I think the cloak is the best but sonar knife is sick for pilot bs pilots and phase is when I feel creative lol
Progression Story: I'm not a fan of just dominating with the meta. I'm trying to get ALL my weapons to an equal level. To unlock all the banners you have to get your weapons to G4.9, so I've been working on that. I've got every single primary weapon there and I have 2 more pistols and 2 more Anti-titan weapons to go until I have all weapons at G4.9. The hardest primary to level up was the spitfire LMG, it is considerably weaker than all other guns in the game and not even very fun. It really needs to be rebalanced. Playing with all the weapons really shows you some of the balancing issues, mainly devotion, G2 and hemlock. I'm fine with the pistols. I also am having difficulty with the thunderbolt, which is by far the weakest AT weapon. In doing all this you learn how to use all weapons and you also get to learn their limitations which will help you beat them.
I've been using the Kraber a lot recently, and damn have I become better at leading shots. Best part is, it translates over to Northstar, so I've become a better Northstar user as well.

The only use I got out of it was killing reapers in the campaign, If you can increase the loading speed, and some other mod then I would say having a class for mid game with it might be viable.

That shit weapon doesn't even kill if you land all 3 shots directly so... It has like a second to windup before it even fires, and then it doesn't even kill so you need to wait another second for 2nd burst... Pretty much every other weapon in the game kills you before that happens
Apparently, it can actually kill in one burst with splash damage. But if you have good aim and land all shots directly in close quarters, it does not do enough damage for kill........... ¯\__(ツ)__/¯
what videos do you suggest to help me with my pilot v pilot skills when I engage Titans I know what to do, and I rarely die when I'm in my Titan and I'm attacked by a pilot, I know how to counter it. I'm a very strategic player, and mainly play last Titan standing, or hard point. but it seems I'm letting my team down with the more popular modes, like bounty hunt and attrition.
Hmm right now it has to be the Softball, everything about the softball is awesome. The sound design it's animation, and of course the way you have to use it to be successful.
2:18 You say that the weapon has shorter TTK than most other weapons, but then you go and say that most other weapons will kill you faster... did you mean it has longer TTK then?
The SMR has the highest theoretical TTK of the automatics, but is lower in practice due to its nature as a projectile weapon. Unless you're a God and perfectly lead all of your missiles, most ARs and SMGs can keep up with you
try giving the volt SMG a try. excellent hip fire. another good option may be the hemlock, in which you sit on buildings and one burst every pilot on the field. add me on XBox if you're on there, CBuck.
Hey guys, total noob. What constitutes a critical shot on a Titan? Is there a weak point in the rear of their chassis or what? And can you hit this with a Titan or just pilots?
The red glowing bit on the front of a titan's chassis, typically where the hatch for the pilot is located. You can land headshots on pilots which would count as a critical.
I've done G2 challenge with every weapon and Lstar was hands done the worst gun in the game for me. Zero fun factor. The smr however is super fun and often better than the lstar
nope. Dragscoping and slideshots are impossible on console without incredibly high sensitivity. The hemlock aim assist that exists on console but not devotion causes the difference.
Actually here is all titan genders, to which i think might be 100% accurate. Ronin: Male. Ion: Female. Legion: Male. Northstar: Female. Tone: female. Scorch: Male.

Also the A-Wall can make a world of difference here. Amped weapon + A-Wall + SMR = Enemy Titan Down
I love the SMR. Accuracy is tricky, but the delay on the projectiles in a stream with fair damage... Can rip unsuspecting players.
Tough to use against SMGs and rifles, sadly... Hitscan high-DPS and mobility...
Works if they run straight at you tho.

Struggling with using the snipers at the moment. I have tried to use A-wall in conjunction with the snipers and it is challenging.

If you amp your weapon it’s nice for spraying Titans

I destroy titans all the time with the SMR. especially when I have amped weapon equipped
Smr actualy kills you in 0.11 seconds. Math. It is the fastest automatic killing weapon in the game. But that might be outdated
The most trouble-some weapon i have a problem with is the Cold-War, its a crappy weapon. if you could do a guide with that would be great.
That shit weapon doesn't even kill if you land all 3 shots directly so... It has like a second to windup before it even fires, and then it doesn't even kill so you need to wait another second for 2nd burst... Pretty much every other weapon in the game kills you before that happens

Apparently, it can actually kill in one burst with splash damage. But if you have good aim and land all shots directly in close quarters, it does not do enough damage for kill........... ¯\__(ツ)__/¯

when I engage Titans I know what to do, and I rarely die
when I'm in my Titan and I'm attacked by a pilot, I know how to counter it.
I'm a very strategic player, and mainly play last Titan standing, or hard point. but it seems I'm letting my team down with the more popular modes, like bounty hunt and attrition.
Go to Gamesager's youtube channel. watch every video. he plays 95% PvP, and he drops 40 kills regularly with a 10 K/D.

Really trying to get going with the L-Star, you really need the extra ammo and fast reload perks to make it feel right.
I usually like to use the fast reload perk for the L-Star along with the HCOG Ranger sight attachment.
MilkStud Bullet You need both fast reload and extra ammo.

2:18 You say that the weapon has shorter TTK than most other weapons, but then you go and say that most other weapons will kill you faster... did you mean it has longer TTK then?
The SMR has the highest theoretical TTK of the automatics, but is lower in practice due to its nature as a projectile weapon. Unless you're a God and perfectly lead all of your missiles, most ARs and SMGs can keep up with you

Hey guys, total noob. What constitutes a critical shot on a Titan? Is there a weak point in the rear of their chassis or what? And can you hit this with a Titan or just pilots?
The red glowing bit on the front of a titan's chassis, typically where the hatch for the pilot is located. You can land headshots on pilots which would count as a critical.

I've done G2 challenge with every weapon and Lstar was hands done the worst gun in the game for me. Zero fun factor. The smr however is super fun and often better than the lstar

Connor Arbuckle you sure it's not the other way around? I've never come across hemlok/a-wall combo on PS4, lots of devotion/a-wall though.
nope. Dragscoping and slideshots are impossible on console without incredibly high sensitivity. The hemlock aim assist that exists on console but not devotion causes the difference.
