The vast majority of people in Chicagoland live in suburbs, which range from very densely populated (more so than Chicago) to sprawling and spread out. The near west along BNSF line often rate tops due to schools, proximity to both airports, city and variety of houses, walkable towns, etc. Places like Western Springs, La Grange, Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills. Naperville is nice but super far away from city, airports, etc. Oak Park and River Forest have crazy high taxes, way more than others.
Peter, I am a committed city guy but this is a good list. I'd add Evanston on top and Park Ridge and Willmette but those fit with my wants. We always joked about Naperville back in the day with my friends from there (Naper-Thrill per my those friends) but, if you are a couple with kids, you really can't find a much better place than Naperville.
Thank you for the video. Why are so many Chicago suburbs unwalkable? I know this is the norm for many U.S. suburbs and there are exceptions (Evanston, Oak Park, etc). Chicago prioritizes 4 major modes of transportation (walking, biking, transit, and private car), why don’t suburbs try to do the same? Many only prioritize travel by car.
Batavia Geneva and Saint Charles Illinois. Illinois report card comes out with a 1-100 ratting for schools now and Batavia beats almost every high school in Illinois
Geneva ,Batavia and St Charles.

Tinley Park has lower property taxes and cool little downtown.
Evanston. But Naperville, Oak Brook, and Hinsdale are nice too.
Evanston is great. Very similar to Oak Park in terms of being a suburb with an urban feel.
If you got a million bucks it’s great
Evan’s town is bordering a ghetto neighborhood called Rodger’s Park. Stay away from Howard especially closer towards the lake
1. Naperville
2. Winnetka
3. Oak Park
4. Orland Park
5. Barrington

What do you think is the best Chicago suburb?
Batavia Geneva and Saint Charles Illinois. Illinois report card comes out with a 1-100 ratting for schools now and Batavia beats almost every high school in Illinois
@@michael-qp3rdI agree on your list
Oak Park = Borders Westside super ghetto. Crime spills over to Oak Park. Plus super trafficky and parking restrictions
False. There is no good suburb.
Haha many certainly feel that way!
Which one
