I'm working on using less paper towels. One thing I use those socks that got holes in them for, is I cut them into "ick rags". I use them to clean up disgusting messes and then throw them away instead of just throwing the sock away.
Good for you on your decisions not to buy all that gunky and expensive stuff for the laundry! I started making my own laundry powders a few years ago. It is so much better for the clothes and the washer and dryer and for the environment! And costs me about a sixth as much!!! I was amazed at the dirty build up that came out of the clothing during those first few washes. The wash water was almost black! 😳
Amazing, Janet! I want to try making my own detergent as well. I recently learned that a lot of liquid detergents have microplastics in them (esp. the pods!!) so I need to find an alternative. Thank you so much for commenting and watching 😊
I too actually dont have cable any longer i bought the firw sticks and ive bern streaming my tv programs im watching shows that were on in the 80 s and a lot of things you mentioned i dont buy
For the longest time, undecided and mooning over the dreaded “cable tv bill”. But you are so right; I’m a you tuber and there are tons of apps out there to watch your favorite tv channels/shows. Hasta la vista, cable tv.
I seldom use paper towels..except for disgusting cat messes or nasty grease cleanup. So maybe 2 rolls a year? I use washable cleaning cloths for all else.
Recently stopped with the fabric softener on a trial basis. That stuff is way too expensive, most stink to me (too overpowering), so I'll see how it goes even though I read that it's recommended with hard water (lots'a limestone here in Paris it seems, lol). My sibling is allergic to the modern world it seems, so got used to using perfume rarely, when the mood strikes me. Ironically, I have a super crappy nose so after the first few secs, I don't smell a thing... Which make me think that those fabric softeners must be super toxic for me to manage to smell them so much, yikes...
The problem with bleached coffee filters is not that you're drinking bleach when you use them, but rather that the bleaching process can harm the environment. In any case though, I'm all for not buying bleached coffee filters.
Totally! I know that bleached filters have small amounts of dioxins in them but you're right - the bleaching process also causes a lot of environmental damage.
Yes! Thanks! I use the mesh one + paper. I used to only use mesh but then I read that the mesh ones don't filter out cholesterol like the paper ones do. Here's an article if you're interested! www.everydayhealth.com/heart-disease/put-down-the-pour-over-to-protect-your-heart/
Thanks for watching! Here’s a decluttering playlist for you! ua-cam.com/play/PLjNjDBsTnq3ScAhOcGWnJ-kAR33YM5F-2.html
I like the multiplier effect when this is done over a long time period.

Great idea, Leslie!
I agree 100% about eye cream.

I keep a huge jar of coconut oil in the bathroom for after showers. beauty regime annually: about 7$
Love that! I used to do that years ago - I need to get back into it :)

Love it! We used to use paper towels daily (many years ago) but now I love the washable/reusable ones so much!
Thanks for the tips. I think stores wrap the produce for hygiene purpose.
Thank you, Helen!

I agree - those fabric softeners have so many chemicals in them, I think they are very dangerous!
Awesome list! I'm always looking for environmentally friendly solutions.
Me too! Thank you, Jenny!!

You can buy a metal mesh coffee filter and not buy paper coffee filters of any kind
