I hand painted my two SP FM Trainmaster handrails using a ultra fine paint brush and grey Testors Acryl 921576. I may have used another grey to mix with the Testors to get the colour to match the Athearn paint applied. Mounting grabs were painted white. Some like to remove the hand rails for painting but if one is careful using great focus, application of paint with handrails in place is very effective. Thank you for posting your tutorial on locomotive maintenance and restoration of this particular model as they are Athearn Classics. Best wishes.

Use your flat x-acto blade and pry right in the middle of the side and it will pop off easily.
