Ultrasonic Alcohol Aging Accelerator Assessment

I didn't know such a thing existed until Scott brought it over and I tried it.
He didn't want to try the results as he was going to drive home, so I had to soldier on and try it all alone. No worries. The results and the control bottle will be on the bar for a good, long time, so that he can try it some other day...

I will receive my ultrasonic cleaner tomorrow. I'll be conducting a number of whiskey experiments varying time temperature and cask spirals. Also, adding some naturally occurring acid compounds to promote the release of phenols and tannins.

Ultra sonics are used to accelerate a number of chemical processes. The microbubbles collapse and cause a tremendous release of energy, thus accelerating the reaction

It would be interesting to try it on a no age statement whisk(e)y that you like. I agree that this gismo probably won't make a lousy whisk(e)y better but it might improve a good young whisk(e)y.
