Superb ! Humble Pranams and Respects to him ! Sadachalesvaram Ragam Bhupalam Adi talam muthuswami Dikshitar Krithi
A set of Panchalinga Krithis were composed on the five lingams of Lord shiva located in the temples in and around tiruvArUr. These are the temples of acalEshvara, hATakEshvara, valmIkEshvara, AnandEshvara, and siddhIshvara. These are referred to as tiruvArUr Panchalinga Krithis, and for distinction, There is also bhUlOka Panchalinga Krithis by him which is different
    The Tiruvarur Panchalinga Krithis are
sadAcalEshvaram - bhUpALam - Adi (acalEshvara)
    hATakEshvara - bilahari - rUpakam ( hATakEshvara)
    shrI valmIkali.ngam - kAmbhOji - aTa (valmIkEshvara)
AnandEshvarENa - Anandabhairavi - mishra cApu (AnandEshvara)
siddhIshvarAya - nIlAmbari - mishra cApu (siddhIshvara)
This kriti is in the second Vibhakti
Madhyamakala sahityam contains the Raga Mudra
According to the Skanda Purana, Tiruvarur is also called Chamatkara-pura, after a king who ruled the place
The reference to converting water to ghee is connected to the Saivite saint Nami Nandi aDigaL (one of the 63 Nayanmars), who took up a challenge from the Jains who were occupying the place to light a lamp with water.
The reference to the lamp not casting a shadow is again from the Skanda Purana. Shiva appeared before King Camatkara and told him that the lamp would not cast a shadow in the sanctum sanctorum.

the one in the form of a great Linga, adept at bestowing grace to the King Chamatkara,
the one at the centre of the sanctum lit by a lamp that casts no shadow,
the one who removes the fear of the ocean of Samsara (worldly existence) which is the root cause of all misery,
the honey bee that hovers in the heart-lotus of saints endowed with tranquility, self-restraint, endeavour etc.,
the one who holds a deer in his hand that surpasses a lotus (in beauty)
the wave from the ambrosial ocean of compassion, the one worshipped by Vishnu (lord of Lakshmi), the one who rides a bull, the one dear to the lotus-faced Guruguha.
Bhupalam :- Janyam of 8th Mela Todi
    Arohanam: S R1 G2 P D1 S Avarohanam: S D1 P G2 R1 S
This morning melody is a janya of Todi. Most of us have heard the usual comment from our mothers " Enna unakku Bhoopalam paadi Thiriupalli ezhuchi pannanumo? ". The general custom in our temples is to sing or play this ragam in Nadaswaram when the doors of the sanctum sanctorum are opened. It is also called Bhupalam. In Ancient Tamil Isai, this is known as Puranirmai Pann and there are number of Thevarams set in this ragam. Reva Gupti is the ragam closest to Bhoopalam in our music. At times, even Bhauli ( Bowli ) also sounds similar. The Hindustani raga close to this ragam is Bhupal Todi.
