@@Luka_Tim. Smart. Fragrances this expensive beg to be cloned. A talented clone house can get you something that smells 90% close to the original for about 1% the price. Why would any sane person pay over three grand for a fragrance that can be reproduced for 30?
I don't freaking care enough to be that impress with a scent that's way overpriced...... the average consumer would more and likely find most of these scents off putting 😂
At that price range the price has nothing to do with the quality but rather is a way of making rich people “feel” special. In fact you will be less blown away the more expensive a fragrance gets because cost influences perception in both the positive and negative.
Really classy Chris. Glad you are respectful of store employees even though you may know a bit more and may not agree with the prices. But it's nice to see that you can see the positives and smell it for what it is. Shalini is a great brand and she's really sweet. Thanks for the look into some of the most expensive. Will have to come to London one day :)
I know that Lalique used to make some fragrances that were a couple thousand, but it was almost certainly due to the crystal used for the bottle and had nothing to do with the juice. Some Lalique sculptures can go for tens of thousands. Paying that price for a fragrance just can't ever be worth it. I don't see how. Unless you're buying a piece of history and you're an art collector, something like a perfectly preserved bottle of something rare from 100 years ago, that price point just doesn't make sense.
Unless it’s rare/limited Ouds, Rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood etc. some of those materials can run a $1,000 a gram. Especially if it’s a current production material. A rare wild Oud is expensive because it is rare, so that is a little more subjective. Roses will take years to grow, thousands of hours of labor, water, land expenses etc. and finally take up to thousands of pounds of the material to produce the oil. So it is objectively more expensive to produce.
Nice! The Henry Jacques is an undiluted oil though, it would be more comparable to a 100-125 mL spray. I have small amounts of a dozen or so HJ oils, they are something special, especially the oud perfumes.
Definitely like this style as well! Super fun to hear about / see these beauties. Never heard about the the first three, but had head about the Roja one. Definitely want to sample that oud one and the Japonaise one as well. Thanks, Chris!
Great video Chris. Harrods looks incredible for fragrances. More original content from your channel. You should definitely win an award for your original slick content. Great work.
There was one at Harrods for 12k not so long ago, can't remember the brand though and I think it was mainly for the bottle with diamonds rather than the actual juice.
I actually was gifted a Henry Jaqcque fragrance, and when it came in the mail the bottle was cracked lol.. Since it was a gift theres no way to get it replaced I guess and they dont have any realtor near me to talk about it. Smelled alright, but for the money I gotta assume its more of a conversation piece if you will just as much as it is a fragrance.
Love this video 👍🏻. This hobby can be quiet expensive at time. I spent $650 or €600 for 3 mls of Ensars Musc 1984. A blind buy that I seriously regret. It’s a vintage Mysore sandlewood with Siberian musk, it nice but to me I wish I had purchased one of his artisanal perfumes instead.
Great video, I've never made it upto the 6th floor. Always found it rather intimidating knowing the prices of what's up there. Will definitely head up there on my next visit. Thanks.
and for the whole bottle of perfume 100ml need 1-3% oud oil and it will be soo nuke even disgusting that means oud oil the most expensive will be $300-$400
Do you have any little boutique shops that maybe a friend runs or maybe some of the indie perfumers in the area? I think that would be amazing and love the touring around vids. Thank you
Harrods is an absolutely incredible place. Had the pleasure of visiting there a couple of years back and was blown away. Wish we had something similar to Harrods here in the states. Thanks Chris for bringing back some nice memories
I'm pretty sure Ali has none of these out on a stall in RDHP, but he did say that you can buy a pre-made custom 1:1 created by Roja Dove for £7.5k? This was like a year ago, I suspect they'd be more expensive now. And he'd even built you 1 from scratch for £90k. Most of the other stuff out on the stall is cheaper though, think outside of Haute Luxe the PDLNs are the most expensive ones they have...? Don't quote me on that. Obviously Xerjoff also has those Amphoraes that are 6ml for €1,650. LOVED THIS VIDEO BY THE WAY. If you're ever on a trip somewhere, always hit up some local boutiques (if they allow you to film).
I wish there was somewhere even relatively close to me (southern usa) to smell niche perfumes. Hell I can only think of like 2 places in the nashville area to even smell Tom ford private blend stuff. I've never even saw a mancera in a store before.
Hey Chris! Great video. The oud fragrance you smelled and described reminds me of Ramon Monegal's Ocean Oud, have you ever had a chance to smell it? Also, I love that leather jacket! I was looking for one myself, could you please share the brand/model of your one?
That’s all you tested from Elegantes?!Please try the other ones, I need an honest opinion. Heart, Oud Exquisite, etc. They sound much more impressive. I’m sure the price of that Rose Musk is the crystal falcon.
Yeah, I've always thought that true high priced perfumes would never be able to be touched, because the quality of their materials is unmatched. In that type of market, only certain houses are privileged with certain materials, which keeps the price high as Heaven. Some of the Middle Eastern perfumes are among the highest, partly due to the vintage nature of their products (aged amber essential oil that's 50 years old, for example). That's a price that's real. Prices due to marketing campaigns, I'm conflicted as to whether it's merited, which is why I'm ok with clones. If I want an amazing fragrance with higher quality, I'll make my own. And it's the government regulations that are throttling the creativity of fragrances. Once that BS is off our necks, we'll be able to have a lot more creativity as we once did, and allow the consumers to decide. Excellent video! Really appreciated!🙏
I seen a brand on Instagram where $4000 were on the low end cost for their like it ranged from $2800-$7500 I was just like hell naw not in this lifetime
The perfume in itself doesn't matter. What matters is the price and that it is recognizable as very expensive. It's just a display of how much money you can spend.
cool. never seen inside harrods before. btw, is that an audemars watch youre wearing? i liked seeing the outskirts before you went in, seeing a foreign country is always cool especially with such history.
Thank you Chris, for letting us have a glimpse of the most exclusive perfumes gallery in the world! That was quite an amazing experience. But to be honest, I still can't comprehend how I can pay 3 or 4 thousand dollars on a bottle of perfume! 🤔
We couldn't comprehend. Because we know the value of money. There is a strange clothing company, Loro Piana, that sells t-shirts for EUR700 and sandals for thousands. It's the same thing. It's just a signal that you are rich. I doubt Harrods and Loro Piana have many customers speaking other languages than Russian and Arabic.
I own a couple of Omega watches one Tissot and a Bulova Skeleton watch!!!both Tissot Bulova have it when you wear them a reserve or you see thru the back....Chris there is nothing like a good watch with a good frag nice shoes and t-shirt Levi jeans...

I can't wait for Armaf to come out with clone for $50
With better performance!

Stop it 😅😅😅😅😅
Plus some sucky sucky for 4 g's!!

My thoughts exactly....
Rich dude: "It's only £4000 a bottle but, as you can smell, worth every penny!"
Rich dude's cling-on "100%, it's amazing!"
Should have taken ATH .. interesting to see him at the expensive section of Harrods.
ou jee... That's right... And ATH have amazing oud fragrances...
Yeah, get ATH in there not liking anything lol

After about the $1000 or $1500 mark, the law of diminishing returns really kicks in to the point that you have a hard time justifying the price tag.
Please make more visits to harrods!!! I really enjoy this type of video
Oh my goodness - you and Aaron need to take a trip to Harrod's together! I would love to hear his thoughts on these ultra expensive fragrances.
Chris, this was fantastic! Please do more of these videos. Never been to harrods, thank you for letting me experience this place through your video!

It may have been a Clive Christian scent imperial majesty most likely. For that price point.
