I just received my NB4 and am really impressed with the quality of the transmitter. There is no "plasticy" feel at all. I only wish they would offer an AA battery pack alternative option to the LiPo. Sometimes it's nice not to have to wait to recharge the batteries. And in the long term, that LiPo will wear out and then the unit will be inoperable. I'll also note that the miniature FGR4S antenna-less receiver, one of the two that comes with the unit, is really nice. The size makes it easy to find a good location for mounting and the lack of antenna leaves a clean body while still having a good range.
Also, don't change the angle of your steering wheel by clutching the wheel itself. Use the brace when adjusting. One of the week points is the wheel attachment screw. Jsyk.
That’s not good. People will naturally want to just pull the wheel to adjust the angle. And it also indicates that the inevitable drop from race height will result in wheel breaking.
lift off oversteer! That setup would be great for rallying because you can catch the lift off oversteer with the throttle. A 205 GTI on that chassis with that setup but longer shocks and rally blocks would be a weapon. I'm not normally one for FWD, but that is ace.
I have had one for a year and love it for racing. Watch when you buy the transmitter some companies sell it with 2 small receivers and others with different receivers.
Love my NB4. Have had it since it first came out a year and a half ago. Easy to program and the extra battery pack for the base is a great feature. Was hoping they would come out with the 6channel receiver by now. The transmitter will run 6 channel although they are still only making the 4 channel receivers. The micro version receiver is amazingly small as well.
Wow, I am super impressed with that Noble NB4, it is a fantastic bit of kit. If I was going to be 'seriously' racing then I would definitely look into getting one of those, actually seems like very good value for money. I remember paying almost double that price for a KO EX-1 Mars R setup about 15-16 years ago, and although that was superb, this set looks better in so many ways. Great video, excellent review, nice one dude!!
Great review of what looks like a very good radio, even though I prefer sticks myself.... and I cringed when you turned on the car at 16:25 and then the transmitter. ALWAYS turn on the radio and then the model in case the failsafe is not set to neutral. I've seen LOTS of runaways at clubs because they turn on the model before the transmitter. FailSafe to Neutral is a must because if you drop your radio and break it and signal is lost, the model stops rather than run full speed into a wall, river or someone else's model...
I've been using a DS3R Pro for years, but I got a Nobel while the Spektrum was off being repaired and this pooed all over it in all sectors. The tunablility is more like my previous Futaba 3PK, but 4 ch and more.
You should try the crawler mode with your Clod, I have a GT5 that I use with my crawler with what I think is a similar Crawler capability and it works well switching between the 4 wheel steering modes
Ooh, exactly the comment I was looking for! Please help me, and tell me why. I have a few older Sanwa and Spektrum radios , and am looking to get a newer radio , with low latency as he is starting g to become fairly competitive in racing ...
Hi Gavin. Really liking your videos by the way. Due to which, I’m quite a bit out of pocket nowadays, after watching them and hence, feeding my hobby...🤪 Have you tried the Absima CR4T controller? It’s basically a much better looking re-badge of the FlySky IT4S. The Carbon Fibre version looks quite cool too and comes with a second receiver and some sensors. You can have the steering wheel either right or left handed. As for the new Nobel NB4, it definitely looks a great bit of kit, but the GUI on it doesn’t look a patch as to the one on the more colourful and graphic CR4T version... As for the Mission FT: I would definitely recommend splashing the cash and converting it to 4WD! It’s an entirely different beast afterwards! Keep up the great vids! 👍
I've never had an RC8X so I can't say but i've had other Radiolink transmitters and I liked all the features so I don't think you can go wrong really. The Noble NB4 is my best transmitter currently, but I do wish the receivers would come down in price a little.
I wish they would have made this compatible with the old receivers.. I don't mind paying up front for a decent transmitter, but to fork out $40/RX kills it. GT3C is hard to beat for this reason and you can also mod it to add additional features and 50+ model memory. Seems like a nice option if you only have a few cars.
Hi Gav, great bid. I would buy one in a heartbeat but have the gt3c with 10 matching RX, s, these do not work with the noble so would need to but all new RX, s!
Can you see if it will bind with an Etronix ET1095 receiver. My absima cr4t ultimate will but now has problems. They are almost identical firmware wise.
Great video I’m still using a FlySky GTB-2B and as you said you can get 3channel receivers cheap? I’ve just paid £13.49 for 2!! 👍 So I’ve 5cars running off that set-up and about 3 off another. Good see and use vid 😎
£140 is a good price! The cheapest I've seen in the UK is £180 that includes 2 receivers from redfin models in baldock, I was really looking into getting one but you hit the nail on the head with your review and the point it becomes very expensive to upgrade all the buggies/trucks I run spektrum on all my buggies and they aren't cheap receivers so to suddenly change isn't viable but spektrum has a habit of changing their frequencies (DSM, DSM2, DSM-r) it's so annoying😡
Nice video Gavin, since you've moved into your new studio the video quality is even better. So when qre you going to show us one of your local model shops and race tracks?
There is not much local to him, he has to travel a fair bit to go to model shops that sell RC stuff and there are not really any race tracks local either, well just one that i know of.
The closest RC store to me is SCModels in Stevenage about 45mins away. I’m luck to have a buggy track close to me called Stotfold Model Car Club and I think it’s now open taking on new members. I have nothing close to me for road cars at all.
seems like less pop ups and fancy efx this time ,,,im glad cause it was getting too much like a long form infomercial. lately..lol..keep up the good reviews
Gavin just so you know I am NOT spamming your video LOL! There is are new developments on this. FlySky didn't include the hardware to be backwards compatible with the old AFHS receivers. BUT they JUST released a module for Kyosho Mini-Z FHSS and that is a backdoor workaround. Guys, check out this post on RCG and my posts below it. #367
Gavin, how do you use the transmitter, as a southpaw? I am asking because 20 yrs ago just before i left the hobby, there was no such thing as a LHD transmitter; at least, not as far as i know! So i am quite curious to see how u would use this. this piqued my curiosity as i started wondering, as a leftie, if i would fare better with a transmitter in a LHD configuration.
I am surprised how cheap R/C radios are getting. I usually get Futaba, Airtronics(gone), Kraft( gone), and for a cheap radios Tactic. I do know that Airtronics is now Sanwa now. I just now got a Dumbo radio. Yes, I know the name is stupid. Maybe you could do a review on the Dumbo radios? Thoughts? Thanks
Dumbo trans are fantastic for the money and the range is great on them. The NB4 is next level but you can get a really good trans for not much money for sure these days.
@@RCKickschannel It's what I use in all my race buggies. It's crazy how small it is. The FGR4P is really small if you have something with a receiver box and you need an antenna. I've never understood why they include that giant receiver. Mine has been living in the original box since I got it.
The Absima is rebadged and rebodied FlySky FS-IT4. Screen, Hardware, Software, and UI are the same. The Absima Runs AFHDS2a, and the older protocol AFHDS receivers like the FS-GR3E Gavin uses with his orange FlySky. Check this post on RCG out #367
Great review, however did you experience the same DEADSPOT issue in the steering that another reviewer mentioned here. ua-cam.com/video/Mu1keQbtuk4/v-deo.html 10 minute mark, also another issue 13 minute mark with the EXPO no being linear.
Yep it still has everything I need and its a quality product. It would be nice if the receivers came down a little in price but apart from that, i'm super happy.
I’ve had one of these for a year, absolutely love mine. In my opinion it’s a high end radio at a mid level price point.
Same here, one year and love it :)
IT'S DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE RADIO. I HAVE ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT MODELS, AND IT'S TOPS. HAD IT FOR OVER A COUPLE YRS, COULDN'T IMAGINE LIFE W/O IT!
I've had my Nb4 for over a year and a half, so far I'm loving it. Compared to the high end radios, its a great bargain.
I love this radio, it feels like a piece of expensive camera equipment. Everything is high-end except the price 👍🏻
I've had one of these for couple years now and its been great ,easy to use .
Really love my Flysky Noble nb4 transmitter.
Had mine for well over a year, great radio, super easy to program and the latency is better than any futaba on the market !! Why pay more ?!

the 6 channel recivers (and higher) are available n rcmart at the moment and require a firware update
@@BlitzWorks That's great to know. Haven't looked in a while. Appreciate the help.
I use the 8 channel receivers. $33 on hobbyking. Work like a charm. They have a bind button so no bind plug needed.

Thanks for your videos. Just got my nb4 today and love it.

I love my noble nb4,I use boats ,crawls and nitro on mine ,I get my receivers from Asia tees they are the cheapest under 20 quid

I have the cheap and cheerful Dumbo RC set, works fine for my needs and has very long range too
Just got one couple of days ago I agree brilliant
I was surprised with mine, I didn’t think it would be that good if I’m honest.
I run my 2wd racing buggy with this radio and I habe no complains.
Also Crawler and Basher I do run with this one.

You can put a module in the grip and make it work with most receivers
Great review
Hi Gav, great bid. I would buy one in a heartbeat but have the gt3c with 10 matching RX, s, these do not work with the noble so would need to but all new RX, s!
Thats always the catch when getting into new radio gear. I find I just migrate slowly and keep using the older stuff for less race focused cars
Love the Noble NB4, feels very premium and translates to the performance over the other budget friendly options. How do you fancy the range?
I’ve not had an issue yet but I will be using it with my XMAXX soon so that will push out the range more.

Not enough channels for me, I'm using a clone of the FS-GT5, the Absima CR6P.
This can do 7 channels atm. There is an 8channel receiver FGr8B.
I don’t buy a controller unless it has at least a 24in color display 😄

Thank you David!
Can you use the Noble for right handed throttle or does thoose dials come in the way?
Some claim the steering wheel has a few degrees of dead zone. Wouldn’t that affect race steering accuracy especially on a road car?
I’ve not felt it but I don’t race.
Looks like a great piece of kit. How many models can you put in it?
It does 20
@@RCKickschannel thank you for replying 👍
Only thing missing is a Hand massage function.
I think thats another product and website Darth ;)
I like this , I’m right handed but I like to steer with left a drone thing I think, what’s the range?👊🏻👍🏻
I think it depends on the receiver you pick. You can find all the specs on the link in the video description

No it and my Falcon have been lost to time. No clue what happened to them James.
Now you have the new radiolink rcx8 transmitter would you choose this or that ???? I only really bash my rigs
Currently the Noble but I would get the pro if I had deep pockets. For everyone else, 100% this version of Noble

I haven’t tried or looked into it so sorry, no clue
Not by itself. There is a module though. Check this post on RCG out. #367
The link #367 seems to be random, anyway, thanks all, I guess mine is a question for the manufacturer
Are there any receivers with gyro for traction control option?
Hi my son Is left handed But loves using gyro or svd is that feature part of this radio thanks
Yes with the gyro receiver.
I have been a Futaba Fan for a long time - but I am tired of spending outrageous money on their receivers.
Flysky Noble is well worth a look
Where can I get replacement batteries for the transmitter? Do you know the part number?
It should be in the manual if you have one.
@@RCKickschannel I do not have one but wanted to pick one up with some batteries.
I stll use my old Futaba 3VC
How many models can be stored?
