Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that explores fundamental questions about reality, existence, and the nature of being. It delves into abstract concepts that go beyond the physical world, investigating the nature of existence, reality, time, space, causation, identity, and the relationship between mind and matter.
The term "metaphysics" originated from the works of Aristotle, where his writings on the subject were placed after his writings on physics, hence "meta" (after or beyond) "physics." However, metaphysics isn't strictly about what lies beyond the physical world in the way we might understand the term "supernatural"; it's more about exploring the fundamental nature of reality, often in a speculative and abstract manner.

First of all hi how are you?
Hope you are doing well, I have a question since in this video we say that 'Santa Does not exist' does that mean Claus may exist and is what makes the Idea/Illusion of Santa Claus being real, also can we depict this figure however we want and not as the typical figure that folks associate?
(Sorry if I have made any grammaticali mistake Im not English wish you the best)

i think in the 1st rejection Quine is saying doing this is 'drawing attention away from the real philosophical issue to discuss something that is not contentious" viz the idea of a Santa Claus.
Later we also see that Quine also rejects the distinction between being and existence, saying existence is not a feature of objects (real things?), a feature that is lacking by something, example Santa.
