This has very quickly become one of my favorite channels here on youtube. I love that you never shame any of the food options from a place like dollar tree and always try to be inclusive of people with different financial situations and allergies and disabilities! Food insecurity is VERY REAL problem in here in America, so I especially appreciate that budget is always the main focus of this channel!
When my fiance and I were homeless and living in a motel, we went to the dollar Tree and got these sandwhiches for our work lunches and dinners. The bbq rib one and the cheese burger one was my favorite. They also have breakfast sandwiches as well! Lifesavers! 😊
I came to the US with my family on a vacation back in 2010, it's the one and only time we'd been to the states and I remember buying the breaded chicken sandwich from the dollar tree. I remember putting a slice of cheese in it before microwaving, and till this day, I can still taste it even though I haven't eaten it since (not available in my home country). I realized, after looking up review videos of it on YT, that a lot of people gave it a lot of flak but, I thought it was an easy and delicious meal that was so inexpensive, that even 12- year- old me could have appreciated it. I'm really happy to see you do this review, especially since I haven't seen a lot of videos featuring the different flavours.
If the frozen cheese is separated before the burger, you can grill the beef with abit of oil, salt, and pepper on a pan. You can microwave the bread with a lightly, watered paper towel or make it taste better by leaving the bread out to thaw and then toasting the flat side of both breads on a pan with butter. This should elevate the taste so much, I used to work at the deli Kroger and people would come to me making their burgers lol Hope this helps makes you meal better ❤ I wanted to save money so I’m definitely getting these burgers, I know which to avoid now :) thank you!!
Im sitting here at 2am eating a grilled chicken sandwich from dollar tree while watching a YT video about grilled chicken sandwiches from dollar tree. 😳
I actually pick up a handful of those pretty regularly to throw in my deepfreeze. They're not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination but for the price they're not bad. Always good for a quick snack.
@@actopt well, I mean you can't really expect a top quality burger for 1.25$, if you want a really good burger Red Robin is the place to go but you're also going to pay 10.00$ for cheeseburger there.
Tip: i take the burger patty off and nuke it separately. I add some garlic powder and some seasonings then, twist open the bun and put the patty back inside. Yum.
When I used to work at Dollar General before I had my son (7 years ago) I used to get that chicken sandwich on my lunch breaks. They only had the cheeseburger and the regular chicken sandwich when I worked there, we had a little cooler in the back with condiments we kept. I always added ketchup and sometimes switched it up and added bbq sauce. It’s definitely not gourmet but it’s a good meal to hold you over and doesn’t taste half bad. I’ll try those other ones and keep them in my deep freezer for those days I just don’t feel like cooking.
The quarter pounder with cheese at McDonald’s was $6.47, I couldn’t believe it. That was for the sandwich alone. I’m definitely going to grab a few of these. Thanks!
@christina I know, isn’t it wild at McDonalds! I don’t eat meat but recently I drove through to get an egg McMuffin with just the egg and cheese and also a cup of coffee. I forgot exactly what the cost was but it was around $9-10. I told the kid to cancel the order and just got the coffee. 🤷🏻♀️
That’s because they can’t shrink a quarter pounder like they’ve shrunk everything else. Since 4oz of anything is always supposed to stay 4oz or it’s false advertising, McDonald’s doesn’t have leeway with that in the same way they have to shrink their cheeseburgers, Big Macs, hamburgers, etc so the size (the size of the patties, at least) has to remain the same and all they can do is raise raise raise the price.
shelzp - I agree. I went with my mom to Dunkin and it was $19 for the two of us. There are no breakfast combos. You’re buying a sandwich, potatoes and a coffee all separately and everything is overpriced. And about Mcdonakds, if you ever ride up to place your order and see the previous order on the screen, sometimes it’s $35. I wonder what effect this pricing has had on the random acts of kindness of paying for the customer behind you and that going on in a chain. At one time, you might do that and it might be $5.. $10. Now, it could be $25-$40. This was never the intent of fast food pricing. Times really have changed, yes!
We eat these on regular basis. I separate the meat from the buns and cook separately. We also bump them up by adding veggies like lettuce, tomato, sliced red onion, or whatever veggies you like.
Thank you Rebecca for reviewing these. Sometimes I am looking for a quick microwave sandwich at work. I love chicken so I am ready to try these.... especially the breaded one. ❤
Howdy from TX! I have throughly enjoyed your reviews. I'm a single female living in an RV camper. Microwave options are my fav as I will not use the oven except during freezing weather and as you know it's hot here more than cold!! Outside cooking is my go to and I use your meal preps the most. Shalom!
This may sound odd, but ive taken those chicken sandwiches and made them into salads... chop up the patty throw it in to a salad and toast the bun in a toaster, chop up and mix w a lil melted butter, salt, pepper and garlic powder...bang ... croutons!! 😂😂Lol i cant stand microwaved sandiwches no matter what i do, i cant seem to like em. But it wasnt bad in a lil salad.
I had eaten these sandwiches before, and yes microwaving it can result in mixed results. Some are precooked, so you can have them come to room temp, add some extra condiments, and munch away with no food poison occurring.
I have not tried any of these sandwiches, but I will now! Thanks for the taste test demo! $1.25 sandwiches will fit in my limited budget on occasion, very nicely!
i’ve tried those dollar tree burgers and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor, pretty tasty and a pretty decent size for just a dollar! also pro tip when microwaving them is to take them out of their plastic and wrap them in a paper towel instead, helps to absorb the steam and moisture for a less soggy bun.
I love the spicy chicken sandwich. If you have a toaster oven, it gets nice and crispy after about 5 mins.. I actually add spicy chili powder and some lettuce. It's pretty good, super quick and convenient.
I worked at Dollar General after high school and got the cheeseburger one all the time for lunch. I've always been a fan of just a simple cheeseburger with no toppings and they never disappointed. Salty, greasy, and hot!
Did my $25 Dollar Tree run today. 😞 Half empty store. I made do. I got creative. Almost empty frozen veggies. I did get the Steakhums and fish sticks. Fish Tacos in my future. Store was trashed. 😞 Thank you for all your amazing ideas.
I used to eat these in college. Would get them from a Shell station right at the edge of campus. When I discovered that Dollar Tree sold them recently, I instantly became nostalgic! Annnd, I almost bought out the store...
I believe they also sell them at Dollar General. My dad was a fan of them for a while before we started getting everything delivered, especially the bbq rib one. Edit: I keep my bbq sauce in a squeeze bottle too haha, it's soooo much easier to dispense
I deeply appreciate this video! I see those sandwiches all the time and I've always hestitated to get any because I couldn't imagine them tasting good, thanks to you I can now pick up a couple today with some confidence! Thanks!!!! 🥰 I'd love to see a lot of these videos where you try the items out, it really helps me as I'm disabled and on a fixed income - love your channel!
You are great at thoroughly describing the food and meals you present. You have wonderful communication skills. I hope your channel continues to grow. You are helping so many people!
I buy the spicy chicken pretty regularly - if no spicy, I just use a load of hot sauce or honey mustard! I use Miracle Whip (SO happy they have at least the little jars there!), a slice of cheese, and the hot sauce or buffalo mayo dressing!! It's kind of my fast-food comfort food LOL
I have tried them and my favorite is the Barbecue chicken. Your video on the egg rolls opened my eyes a lot and I have been shopping at Dollar tree since I am a single person it works well plus a good place when you are on a budget.
I like the grilled chicken sandwich. Just add tomato and lettuce, and its a wonderful sandwich. By the way, I wrap mine in a paper towel so they don't come apart when heating
Those sandwiches are a great base for adding ingredients to. We keep them on hand for when no one wants to actually cook. Banquet pot pies as well. There are a lot of things I refuse to let go of from my past of growth up poor. Those sandwiches are definitely one of them.
Gotta remeber they are Dollar Tree but, I love these sandwiches! They don't give you the bubble guts like fast food joints and super cheap. My gf and I grab a bunch of these for our spur of the moment overnight trips.
Cool video straight up for chowing on a budget. My trick is using a toaster oven...you can buy chicken patties & just bake till done, add toppings & use your favorite market buns... almost as easy & waaay better
I like getting the cheeseburger one and adding mayo and a toooooo of pickles. Fast food places are getting ridiculously expensive but these always hit the spot.
Love these review videos. Thank you for helping us not waste money. Pickles are also great on chicken sandwiches. I love BBQ sandwiches with coleslaw and pickles. So good. I like how you elevated the sandwiches. Sandwich tip: One thing I do sandwich wise to keep waste down, if I can't get through all of the lunch meat I buy before it goes bad, I make as many sandwiches as I can with the meat and some cheese (also a good way to use up bits of cheese), wrap them and freeze them. You let them thaw and pop them in a skillet with butter or oil and you have a quick warm dinner made of stuff that might have gone bad otherwise.
I got a couple of these for sh*ts and giggles and now I love them. I think they’re great. Reminds me of the sandwiches back in middle school and highschool 🤷🏻♂️
My grandpa loved things like this for work Hed always get the mini pizzas, sandwhiches, burritos and freeze them for work still does even though hes retired. He works around the house alot so when he doesnt feel like cooking we make these dandwhiches His favorites are Bbq Rib Spicy chicken
I know this defeats the purpose of microwavable burgers or sandwich. whatever you call them, but dissect each one and pop the bun in the oven or toaster and toast that sucker up and add butter. Stove top the patties til crispy or chared a little bit add cheese. Cook up some home fries and better than McDonald's. In my opinion! Great videos by the way. 👍
I actually love the grilled chicken one. My local dollar tree doesn't have them all of the time so my dad stock up for me so I can have them when I go visit!
i’m shocked you didn’t like the cheeseburger more! to me, it’s pretty similar to mcdonald’s burgers. also, as a picky eater, i love how these sandwiches come plain. :)
Awesome! We have tried all these from the DT and they save on the wallet. Going out to eat is getting so expensive, same for going to the grocery store. Any way you can save helps. Thanks for your video!
New subscriber here. I could only find the barbecue chicken sandwich at my local Dollar Tree. Mine appeared to have more sauce on it than yours did. I added some pickles and really enjoyed it! Thank you for your channel and keep doing what you're doing. 😊
I’ve tried the burger in the past and was not impressed but now I’m super excited to get your top 3 and bring them to lunch at work and to the hotel for my daughter’s graduation when I need a snack or inexpensive lunch or dinner. Thank you Rebecca!!! Keep ‘em coining!!!! You rock!!!! 💃👍🏻💖
The snapps appetizers are decent. These also aren't bad dolled up a bit. Pickles on cheeseburger, bbq sauce on bbq chicken and Buffalo and cheese on the spicy etc. The bbq rib sandwich almost tastes like a mcrib lol.
Hey there! I adore your channel. You are really helping my family out with cheap and fantastic recipes. I am a single mom of 2 teens and my kids are pretty easy going. My son loves the spicy and reg. chicken sandwiches. Keep the videos comin'!!'
i used to get those cheeseburgers all the time when i lived near a dollar tree - i actually really loved them especially when adding ketchup. not the best burger ever of course but it really hit the spot when i was craving a nice beefy sandwich.
Hello Dollar Tree Dinners. Great review of all the FastBite sandwiches available at Dollar Tree. Based on your recommendation, I'm definitely going to try the breaded chicken version - and you're correct about the condiments (at least in my household). We keep a special plastic bag of small portion pack condiments in the fridge (very economical). 😁
Thanks to you I was able to buy a few of these to try with my partner and we both like them! A little small so next time maybe some chips on the side would help fill us up better! I enjoy the chicken sandwich while my Partner enjoys the cheeseburger. Us being neurospicy makes meal prep very draining on our health so these help a lot! Thank you! :)
I dont care for “ formed” chicken “parts” products like nuggets, patties, etc so I was very surprised you liked the formed chicken patty over the chic fil a real full chicken breast sandwich. Thank you for the review- interesting and good insight into the product
I just saw this review - thank you! As a widowed senior person, I have relied on more frozen meals in the past year since my husband is gone, as I used to cook from scratch. I never expect frozen foods, no matter the brand, to be as good as homemade. But trying different frozen items and adding fresh condiments is helpful when stretching a limited food budget.
If you have trouble getting/keeping fresh lettuce, I recommend canned sliced water chestnuts! They add a similar fresh, crunchy texture to stuff like sandwiches, but they’re shelf stable until you open them. One can is about $1-$3 at the grocery store, usually in the asian foods section. I have ADHD, so it’s extra difficult for me to remember to use fresh produce before it goes bad. Frozen and canned veggies are great!
Lettuce storage trick Make a fresh cut on the stem & place in a bowl with just enough water making contact with stem end. Loosely cover with plastic/produce bag. Peel off outer leaves as needed. Change water & recut stem as you use the head up. Lasts 2-3 weeks for me.
My first thought on the burger is that it probably would need pepper & maybe salt too. In our house, "not my favorite" means no, never, please don't buy again!
I love the burgers I add onion lettuce pickles and lettuce plus honey mustard and ketchup let cool and eat they are great for a cheap sandwich and when you only have 23 bucks a month for food it helps. Love the grilled chicken
I eat the cheeseburger as is. I prefer not to add anything. I've been eating them for several years. The taste has changed some though, along with price increases starting at $1 to now $1.50. I don't have a DT with fridge/freezer foods.
Winco sells the cheeseburger and spicy chicken sandwich and I buy several of them every month for a quick meal. I usually doctor them up too. I really like them. I’m glad to know that Dollar Tree carries them for $1.25 because they’re a little more expensive at Winco.
I like to make these in the toaster. At least the ones that will not drip. Just put each bit of bead in a slot, and the meat in a third. It's a tight fit, but works. Wish I could do this with the BBQ one, but I don't feel like cleaning out the toaster after each "meal".
To those of you leaving crappy comments or calling this homeless food that's not fair to say since you never know when your one paycheck or illness away from disability and homelessness..I'd never wish that on anyone but if a person isn't as economically as fortunate as some of the Karen's and Richards out there leaving rudeness then yippy skippy for you but don't knock anyone for something they can't help or troll a nice person just doing something like this to be kind either..some people can only afford dollar tree or dollar stores and that's just life..and I mean no rudeness and take care and God bless and have a great day.. & To the young lady doing these videos thank you so much😊
I really appreciate your videos. I am old enough to be your mother, and with the struggles in the economy over the past few years, I have been looking for less expensive meal options (or options that can all be found in one place as gas prices are a concern with driving). There are a lot of people who will like having microwavable options, including van-lifers. I am not a van-lifer, but I like to watch their videos and several of them do have microwave ovens, but no regular ovens. Thanks again.
Thank you, I was considering trying them. That's a phobia of mine, and it's happened plenty of times to me with formed chicken items...worst time was a huge bone shard in a Burger King nugget.

If you’re food “insecure,” you’re doing something wrong, because America has both food stamps and food pantries everywhere.

Cool post. Times like you mentioned make us more appreciative, for sure
Yeah, the BBQ rib was my go to
The best way to make these is to separate the meat and bread, toast the bread and air fry or microwave the meat/cheese. Makes them way better.
Yor are right! Then they are yummy 😋
Great idea
Wicked smarttt
That's cooking. I buy things like this not to cook 😂

that sounds so good!!

I took your suggestion when you covered the egg rolls and I was not disappointed!
Can you cover the frozen “snackers” sometime? Like the pizza bites, mozz sticks, etc? I love to see before I buy. 😂
Absolutely! I’d love to do that!
@@DollarTreeDinners yay!
I've tried these many times and think theyre alright for the price!
i used to get those cheeseburgers all the time when i lived near a dollar tree - i actually really loved them especially when adding ketchup. not the best burger ever of course but it really hit the spot when i was craving a nice beefy sandwich.
I mean it is pretty good for a dollar. When you're stoned and don't wanna cook anything this is a great go-to lol.

Thank you so much for doing this review. My new lunch menu! On a tight budget now
This takes me back to before I knew how to cook, or had the means. Great advice.
Thank you! :)
Another great video!! Thank you for these❤🎉
The buns on these are super dense too. Like I can't quite describe them. There's not airy like you'd get at a fast food place.
I like these especially the grilled chicken, and cheeseburger. I like to let them thaw in the fridge, take out the cheese, and zap for 1 min
I dont care for “ formed” chicken “parts” products like nuggets, patties, etc so I was very surprised you liked the formed chicken patty over the chic fil a real full chicken breast sandwich. Thank you for the review- interesting and good insight into the product
Yeah, I'd never eat a formed meat slurry concotion
Your videos are a huge help to me. Thank you!
I was excited to see this review. I’m going to give some of these a try. Thank you!
Lettuce storage trick
Make a fresh cut on the stem & place in a bowl with just enough water making contact with stem end.
I have them occasionally at work. They are not bad at all
Maybe some Burger seasoning sprinkled on the patty before you cooked it would give it a little more flavor...
I eat the cheeseburger as is. I prefer not to add anything. I've been eating them for several years. The taste has changed some though, along with price increases starting at $1 to now $1.50. I don't have a DT with fridge/freezer foods.
Cowboy candy on the bbq one makes it so much better! I'll have to try coleslaw on it as well next time.
I didn’t even think about fried onions and jalapeños but great idea!
Love these sandwiches, I add pickles, tomato, lettuce or spinach and what ever condiment I have.
I love those fast bite sandwiches. The cheese burger is my favorite. I doctor it& add sides. They’re just fine.
Omg i love these. I bought 5 today. 2 ham and cheese and the bbq chicken one i add bbq sauce and some cole slaw and yum
Fast and easy sandwiches.
Brilliant channel. I was always leery of those sandwiches, but picked up a grilled chicken sandwich to try out later on.
Also we love the Jimmy Dean sausage and pancake breakfast sandwiches!
Winco sells the cheeseburger and spicy chicken sandwich and I buy several of them every month for a quick meal. I usually doctor them up too. I really like them. I’m glad to know that Dollar Tree carries them for $1.25 because they’re a little more expensive at Winco.
I can see the kids at my house lovin these for lunch or at night when they get their own meal
I like your comparison video. I have broken my ankle and I am stuck at home in bed. You have given me some options for meals. Thanks?
Glad they help, feel better soon! 🥰
These are the only thing my granny would eat for lunch before she passed away last year. I will get them and add a sald for lunch 😊
My teenage son loves these. My favorite used to be the pork rib bbq. Like a McRib! I haven't seen them for a long time though.
I like to make these in the toaster. At least the ones that will not drip. Just put each bit of bead in a slot, and the meat in a third. It's a tight fit, but works. Wish I could do this with the BBQ one, but I don't feel like cleaning out the toaster after each "meal".
Awesome video and content! Ty!
& To the young lady doing these videos thank you so much😊
These are definitely good I get them for lunch for work
I really appreciate your videos.
Last time I ate one of these, it was the spicy chicken sandwich. I bit into a piece of bone that was inside the patty. Haven't eaten one since.
Thank you, I was considering trying them. That's a phobia of mine, and it's happened plenty of times to me with formed chicken items...worst time was a huge bone shard in a Burger King nugget.
I really appreciate this video,I am really broke and you made my night because I didn’t even know dollar tree had them..I’m going to buy some,,
You're brave but I love these videos.
