@Jesse Darwin thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Actually biomedical science graduates can also further into medicine. You can go into perdana university graduate school of medicine . If you’re really determined. It takes 4 years. US curriculum style.
hi, can I ask is it possible for me if I graduate from biomedical sc. degree and pursue my master/phD doing in pharmacy becoming a lecturer for pharmacy degree?pharmacology is it?
Hi, I'm a first year biomed student in UM. I heard that we can actually pursue medicine after we graduate from biomed, starting from 3rd year medicine. Is it true?
@@wisely_koay I actually emailed UM admissions Office. They replied that they are not offering MBBS. Also, I have not been able to apply through the Maya website.
Ya this might be a very informative topic to share. But for your information, biomedical science degree in UM don't require an interview to apply, but MBBS does😊
Yes we are attached to UMMC which is University of Malaya Medical Centre for posting. And yes I've seen medical officers work in hospitals and they also graduated from biomedical science as well.
HI , if I'm interested in the synthesis of drugs and medicine , is biomedical science suitable for me? I'm confused with this an pharmaceutical science which is a degree which is pretty absent in Malaysia
Well, personally I think it would be better for you to take pharmacy since they learn more in-depth in drug effects and what not. But in biomed sc, we do have electives in pharmacology, but whether or not it will be sufficient enough for you to continue venturing into the career pathway of your liking is debatable.
Haha what i meant was we biomed sc students do learn about pharmacology. But I'm not sure if this knowledge that we learn will be enough if you would want to work in the particular drug synthesis field. Pharmacy or pharmaceutical science would probably give you a better advantage since they learn it in more detail.
Oh... and for MBBS grads... if you failed or quit Housemanship... don't even dare to call yourselves 'Dr' after that... You will be ridiculed by full-fledged medical doctors to no end... Failing or quitting housemanship means you will not be able to get full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and will never be allowed to practice medicine in Malaysia...
