One reason you're enjoying the episodes is your sense of adventure and fun. You soak up the episodes and characters, and it's a joy to watch someone appreciate them, while other channels just made snide remarks, second-guessing the director or the scenario. Lot's of fun.
I think this is where they really started building on story lines that had been introduced. One of the things I really liked about this show was the building of stories and character development. They didn't hit it every single time but it remains my second favorite show after Babylon 5.
Imagine the number of potential inventors and astronauts there were who ended up in No Man's Land during World War One. Those who had grown up on Victorian-era science and speculation, who had ideas and dreams that never came to be. One reason 'steampunk' is a _fantasy_ genre today is because most of those who may have crafted it into reality were silenced by war. Imagine what the world would look like had those deaths been averted.
I really enjoy watching your reactions to Stargate episodes and since having seen them myself know you are in for many hours of enjoyment watching future episodes.
You know what I just realized? Michael Shanks did exactly what James Spader did in the movie before entering the gate.. Only here he did it before entering the wall.
You'll like future seasons a lot. There's a progression and character development in SG-1 that I haven't seen any show do half as well. Most don't even attempt it.
It's not like they're staying with the Nox permanently. Just until they can get to their new homeworld, one way or another. And don't forget: the Nox are at least as advanced, so I don't think they'd have any problem keeping a cat safe. I don't know how they go about getting to the new homeworld, but probably either the Nox could do something, or the planet is just much closer so the ship doesn't have to travel nearly as far.
I never worried about the cat. I figured that a species of human this advanced, could sequence the cats DNA and make more. It was just a shame they couldn't give them more animals to sequence and clone as a show of goodwill. Besides the fact that the Nox homeworld was just a pitstop on their way to their own new settlement planet.
Besides the variety of story types, I always felt the best aspect of SG1 was how the story ark evolved, constantly growing on previous episodes. Most episodes can be watched in isolation, or as part of the greater whole.

The sheer chaos an invisible cat could cause is unthinkable.
She was worried about the cat. Knowing cats, I would worry for the fenri (the flying thing on the Nox world).
No. Best not think about such things.
Yeah, The Nox... Interesting people.
Excellent episode, and good to see you enjoy.

Remember, they came from earth.. As Daniel pointed out, if not for the dark ages, where would we be.

One of the best episodes of season 1.
Medusa almost getting hysterical about the ...cat xD
LOL! I know. You'd think that she thought that Tobin Bell's character was going to eat it or something.

This is one of my favourite episodes! Looking forward to seeing what happens next....
This was my favourite episode from season 1 :-)

I love how the cat is the most important thing about this episode for you xD
Good morning! Stargate! Yes, yes, yes! Thanks. :)
You talking about Daniel he’s always walking away 😂
The Guy you Notice from X- Files is the same Guy from the SAW Movies 😏
Hopefully Jigsaw doesn't cook the cat xD
SG1 is a very enjoyable series; it is not greatness like B5, but it doesn't try to be more than it actually is, which is a good show.
Opinions vary! I love b5, watched it through at least ten times but sg1 rules!

I'd forgotten the Nox were in this episode :-)
Which trial in early Who do you mean? When the Doctor is on trial in The War Games?
Ian in The Keys of Marinus.
😸👍
That the Tolan speak English was always a problem for me. Very lazy writing.
What, _only_ the Tolan? 😆 Not the hundreds of others who also speak English for no reason? Eh, it's television.
