    Owned one for 5 years. (After a series of japanese bikes) Sold with 58000km and never have any serious issues with it. I did the maintanence myself as always. The front brake and suspension is like it came from another world (after a 2005 r1). If you are not a tourer kind of biker, this bike is the best experience you can get on the road in my opinion. Now due my age I switched to a Monster and I like it very much. Not as exceptionak as 999s but cheaper and better for urban cruising. But definitely the 999s was my best bike. Maybe I should buy one once again. I miss it very much.

    You know in 2003 World Superbike Championship Neil Hodgson on the Ducati 999 dominated every single race .

    I HATED the front when these were new. I must admit, they have aged incredibly well

    The mirrors and side stand might be works of art but at the same time they need to be practical. The design of the side stand pivot bush ensure a lot of wear and a short life and that results in a bike prone to leaning too far and tipping over (I know mine does, even after replacing the bush and removing all slop). Also, the mirrors are impractical as they have you looking through your elbows. I fitted FSAR mirrors to mine and they are an upgrade in my view (pardon the pun). With you knees hitting the fairings, have you tried adjust your foot pegs to make more room? They won't give you inches of difference but what they do offer might be noticeable and a plus.
    Pretty much everything else in your review was spot on Chris, keep it up, you've got me onboard. Take care mate, right wrist down...

    Great bike and a very good review which I can relate to. I own an '03 999s and I love it. The torque makes the bike feel much stronger than a 4 cilinder bike with 136hp would feel like. Ride safely. Greetz from NL

    To solve your nie problem, you should consider bying adjustable foot pegs. Take one with the Most posible adjustment. Maybe one for racing purpose. I like the looks of the 749/999 and it's racing DNA. Thinking about yousing it in the track. But not shure wether it is too outdated now a days. Nice Video. Cu.

    #meeto I also have an '03 999s, the sound, the up on the back wheel in third at 180, I could go on. You could limit the revs to 7,000 and it would still be fast. Good thing they go to 10,500! They'll still out handle most newer bikes. Mio motocycletti numero uno, Ducati 999s.

    Just bought a 2006 999s with 9.5 k miles . Paid £7250.. snapped his hand off.. you know whats funny I have never even sat on a 999. I know they sound amazing and the open clutch. I have never had enough money to buy one. So sold the 05 zx636 . Can't wait to ride it on a hot day next year.. ps great video thank you.. I am 6'5 ..so not sure on the size

      Hi Mike, you'll be fine with your length. I am 6ft4' and fit pretty well too. With longer arms you are able to sit more upwards LOL

    • @ChrisVSCars
      @ChrisVSCars  3 роки тому

      Well ive riddin a zx10r unfortunatly not a zx6r.
      But the position is simular to a zx10r. Its not stupid aggressive

    Must be nice to own a Ducati in a country where it won't rot due to weather and salt.

    Is it possible to add traction control and abs to this bike?

      No bc if you add traction control to a Ducati you go to Italian Hell when you die

    The side stand is absolutely useless. As is its integration into the crankcases. I've had the bike for 17 years and the sidestand has been a constant pain

    That swingarm was on the first release, too weak, look at the following release. FYI this bike is the Ducati with the most championship, podium, trophies, etc… and today is seen as the best ( if you compare to bike of the same yr) you don’t know what you’re talking about, for one it’s a track bike. And unbeatable at that. Torque all the way.
