- Size does often matter. And, when talking abut the form factor of photographic equipment, often (but not always) the smaller the better (as long as quality is not compromised). And the Sigma 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS lens is just that: small. And lighter than you'd imagine.
In short, we loved the lens and the image quality is superb - way sharper than I would ever have believed possible. We took one to Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana to try it out and it was a joy to use for both stills and video.

Looks an excellent lens - and you got some fantastic shots, thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed the overlay of bush sounds during the sample images, rather than music - very calming, and helped take me back to my own safari last year.

I bought the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens in March 2024, it is very compact, very Light weight, easy to handle and operate, the optical image quality are excellent ! I can go hiking with tis holding it my hands for hours without problems. I can very highly recommend the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens !
