I will totally be doing this but I think i'm going to add a little extra something, but holy crap does this make me so inspired, faux glass panels and a metal piece , black of course, on the hinge side , but seriously this is seriously Brilliant !!!!
My husband and I watched your video to do our front door. We used a laminate flooring (leftover from another project) and used acrylic black paint and three coats of polyurethane. It came out beautifully and I really loved this video.
Easy and entertaining video to watch. Thank you! Love the idea and the handle bar was a great choice. How does the door open/close without a door knob? Is that part 2?
I did this with my boring hallway upstairs that had builder grade doors. I used thin vinyl flooring planks so as to not make the doors too heavy. It looks amazing! Thx I was looking for videos to help me get the courage. I painted the frame black and my walls are white.
I’m worried about it holding up to the weather. And adjusting the thickness of the door probably had some issues closing. Looks good, but not a fan of this one.
Smart idea bro! What a creative approach to give the look of a $3K+ upgrade with little investment of both time and money. Smarter not harder!

I love the natural look. You can add poly acrylic clear to a nice seal
Thanks for the tip!
That’s really cool. Great job!

Love it!

Thank you for watching. Once you use the key or enter your code, the door unlocks and you pull it open with the handle bar.
Love it!!! We may need to put you on payroll 😂😂
Please do. Lol
Omg I love it! It’s literally what I was looking for. I have the same door and need to upgrade it on a budget! Thank you for sharing ❤!
looking good, thanks for the video. will be doing my door soon
No problem 👍 have fun!
Awesome Creative Stuff right there!
I was just shopping for a custom sized door and this could save me 5, 6, maybe $700.
Niiiiiiice!!!
Laminate wouldn't withstand the mother nature, use LVP instead or plywood sealed with 3 coats of poly.
Thank you for the great tips.
Love this idea!
How's your DIY holding up after a year?
damn you did a great job
Does the flooring have UV protection ? How is it holding up ?
Where did you buy the handles from?
I would paint the frame black

Looks Fantastic!
Great job, looks awesome, is there a part 2?
Elevate further with a brass kick plate and find an interesting door knocker
Great job. Did you have to adjust the door casing or trim to have it close correctly? Thanks
Thank you 🙏🏾. I had to sand the sides a little.
@@diyelie Thank you.
Yes it looks good. Trim painting..
Thanks 👍

Thanks, will do!
Where did you get the handles from? And what is the name of them
Amazon.
You are goooood sir! What king od handle did you use?
Thank you. I purchased them from Amazon. They are iron I believe.
Did you use the same door holes you had before and what’s the link for the handle
Yes I did. You can find the handle on Amazon.
LVYIHAN 48 inch Large Stainless... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BB6XNR62?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Thank you! So you just cut around it when you added the lvp’s
Are you going to paint the trim? Black?
Your panels went all the way to the edge of the door. How does the door close? did you move the door edging?
I was wondering the same thing. He never addressed that. I assume he adjusted the weather stripping or something.
What about the sides / edges? Did you cover them also?
No I did not.
Wonderful
Thank you
What material was original door? Mine is aluminum or metal
I used laminate flooring material from Home Depot
Do you have a similar project?
Where is part 2???
I meant did you use the same hole you had for the previous lock for the new smart lock
Yes I did.
I’m worried about it holding up to the weather. And adjusting the thickness of the door probably had some issues closing. Looks good, but not a fan of this one.
I understand. Thanks for watching.
Where did the handle come from
Good job
Thanks 🙏🏾.
Updates please
I would have used cedar dog pocket fence. They’re like $3 each. Idk how these would hold up to the elements
Love it!
Thanks!!
