So in Sacramento there's a train museum and I go there frequently and recently they added a model train room that wraps around the upstairs and exits by the display of many scales of model trains, and this is where I got my inspiration to start my own model train layout of course they had huge backdrops but I could scale that down or create my own from Thomas and friends
Amazing! I'm liking this James model already along with your Bachmann G scale H James. Excellent idea for the pony truck. Reminds me of the trailing wheels on some OO scale Hornby steam locomotives that are blind and flangeless to go around tighter curves.
Trainboy if you want a exact awdry model resurect him in a rws sayonce p.s. you did amazing. It's very close to his model you always do really good on your models keep up the good work as always.
Honestly this feels like a more realistic take on James It has a semi real basis (aside from the pony truck), a realistic looking livery, and it just looks like a more realistic version of James

Just as long as it's the model you like But yeah, I can agree on the class 28 being an accurate real life version of James. I'd just take the cheaper option if it's available and looks the part
@@lightupproductions1948 It was Awdry who said James is a 28 so if we're getting into what's more accurate, it'd be the Class 28 - but I can certainly see a 4F being closer to a real version of say the TV model.
@@ExplosiveCookie it's sorta like a mix of real life and TV series accurate Awdry made his engines with weird designs, like making henry a weird hybrid for his old shape and making Percy and random build with no real basis. So technically a class 28 without the pony truck and extended running board would suffice
@@lightupproductions1948 No, Awdry didn't make Henry a hybrid design by choice - that was all because of Middleton and Dalby not listening to Awdry and messing up the drawings, which forced Awdry to invent the backstory. It wasn't a conscious choice - if Awdry got his way with Henry he'd have been a Robinson Atlantic! Percy does have a real base in a way that he's just meant to have been an Avonside built loco that has been rebuilt many times to have changed the design a considerable amount, much like many real industrial locomotives.
You need to get some sheet styrene, you could extend his running boards quite easily as it's pretty much straight lines. Your skills are picking up every video, the weathering looks really nice.
Not a good runner, but then again Lima models run like dog poop, I've had several 00 gauge locomotives in my life from Lima, all except 1 breaking down. Think you should have saved up for maybe either a minitrix 4f or a 90's/80's Graham Farish 4F. He looks an absolute stunner though.
