- Agneepath is a 2012 Hindi-language action drama movie and is a remake of the eponymous 1990 film of the same name. Agneepath movie stars Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt as Kancha Cheena, originally played by Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa respectively. Other supporting casts include Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, Priyanka Chopra, Zarina Wahab and others.

Koi kuch bhi bole but for me pure masala hindi cinema can't get better than Agneepath. Damn I still love this movie so much. Highly underrated.

10 Years...... still remember long cue for d tickets, watched it day after Saraswati Puja here in Purulia,West Bengal ,seetis and taalis all around....one of Hrithik's best ever performances....🙌👐🤛✊

I remember going to cinema hall for watching this in January end in 2012. it was houseful show. got two seats in first row. Experienced the magic of hindi cinema through this film. Hero, Heroine, Villains , Drama, Action, Dialogues, Songs and people dancing on Chikni Chameli. Ahh, I mids that!

Hrithik never copied any iconic scene of Amitabh Bachchan. That's where he excelled this character.
The way he recites the Agneepath poem in the climax still gives me the chills
the real villian was the boy in mardaani 2. I THINK NO ONE OF THAT AGE HAS DONE SO FANTASTIC JOB AND EVEN REPLENISHED ACTORS CAN'T DO THAT.

As per IMDb - The name for Danny Denzongpa's character in Agneepath - Kancha Cheena - came from the actor himself. It roughly translates to someone with Nepalese and Chinese descent.
Well u can roughly translate kanchain Nepali as chotu in hindi ( basicaly kancha means younger aquantance in nepali )

Talking about the history of kancha…shown in this agneepath…he was shown with no hairs on his body(not even eyebrows)…and in his intro he was shown to hate mirrors…as he broke the mirror and screamed…sheeshe ni chahiye(don’t need mirrors)….and in that scene in background we can hear bullying of other children to him terming him as bhoot(ghost)…and his agony as a child…which turned him into a dark character…

og kancha cheena was played by denny denzongpa. so the name cheena refers to some one who looks Chinese and denny sir was from north east
And in original movie Danny played a Nepali (according to one of the dialogue in og movie). That's why such name

“Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” & “Devdas” were also remakes of “Nadiya k Paar” & “Devdas” itself respectively…And these were also Beautifully scripted n crafted films at their point of time…Same Admired by audiences worldwide as well…

Kancha is term for boy in nepali. remember the song kancha re kancha re , that song was also actually lifted from nepali song. So if we see a nepali or mongoloid featured boy, we call him Kancha. and mongoloid feature is also 'china' or Chinese look. So in original movie, Danny ( who is actually a Sikkimese ) played the role, so he was called Kancha china for his mongoloid features. probably this was the name he was called by others. Parents wont give that name. But I dont know how sanjay Dutt''s character justified the name.

I remember watching this movie back in 90s called Krantiveer and the villain played by Danny Denzongpa. I was a small kid back then and I was shitty scary of him.

Original me bhi villain name was Kancha Cheena... that was played by Danny Dengzongpa... perhaps then, (at the cost of sounding racist) Danny was termed Cheena... I think the name was a slang play on a Northeastern looking villain...

I love colonel ss Hans Landa, from the Inglorious Bastard movie. That movie is a gem, the scenes are well written and the dialogues are fantastic as is expected from a tarantino movie.
