    Well done, Liam ! I wanted to have more on the illumination and the zoom that I do not understand again completely.The illumination is useful, I imagine, for those who can have difficulties to support the light of a direct lamp, during long hours of an evening. There you can relax. You explain very well what you think and bring several elements how to use it. Great job ! And thanks to have taken your time to prepare this presentation for us.

    The zoom feature feels like a waste. Such a cool feature but using that exclusively for zoom? Man...imagine you could not just re-bind those keys but also change what it shows when it lights up. Technically it wouldn't be a big deal to do that and it would make this keyboard stand out a lot. But probably some $$$ contract stuff with Dell and Zoom going on there....i don't think the Dell Ingeneurs didn't think about making it more versatile themselves.

    Dude, next time actually type on a keyboard, talk about it's feel, haptics, if it's comfortable to type, if it gives enough feedback while typing... Talk about the key travels... You kept talking about the Zoom feature throughout the whole thing.

    Hi,
    Is the backlight light white in color or blue. It looks kinda blue in your video? Also, I'm wondering if the internal rechargeable battery is replaceable. With most things, rechargeable batteries wear out over a period of 3 or 4 years or so.

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  4 місяці тому +1

      The light is mostly white but has a slight blue tone. It's almost purple. My laptop has an rgb keyboard, so I configure those keys to be slightly purple so they match. I do not know if the battery is replaceable.

    Quite informative of the general standout features, but I would have liked a sound test of the keyboard as well as a description of how it feels to type, unless I missed that part.

      The keys are scissor switch, which I prefer to mechanical keys, as I can type faster with these. The sound and touch feel near-identical to an apple keyboard. The keyboard has a slight adjustable incline. Hope this helps.

    If you are left-handed and use your mouse with your right hand, be aware that this keyboard adds an extra 2.6 inches to the width by adding the extra keypad between the regular typing area and the number pad. That extra width added to the right-hand side of the keyboard moves your mouse use that extra 2.6 inches to the right, and that's a bit uncomfortable, will take some getting used to.

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for pointing this out. This isn't an issue for me personally as I naturally tend to give my mouse a lot of distance, but I can see it being more noticeable for certain people.

    Hi Liam - three questions for you
    1) Can you use this keyboard while you are charging it?
    2) Do you ever just leave it plugged in?
    3) After using it a bit, what is your average battery life before needing to recharge?
    Thank you for this review!

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for your interest, Nathan!
      1) Yes, you can certainly use it while charging.
      2) Yes, I sometimes do just leave it plugged overnight. It's probably better not to, to keep battery longevity (like how you're not supposed to leave your phone plugged if it's fully charged), but I haven't noticed any performance drops after doing it.
      3) In my experience, you can leave it plugged in for under an hour, and the charge will last you 1-2 weeks with limited daily use. Time between plugging in is long enough that charging has never felt like a hassle to me.
      Hope this helps.

    I honestly don't need a gaming keyboard and have been looking for a sleek looking backlit keyboard to replace my casual sk-8115 that I've been using for 15years by now and honestly this KB900 looks amazing. I never use zoom so the extra buttons are of no use to be currently, but I believe Ill have to purchase this keyboard and probably just keep it plugged in lol.

    Question for everyone: The cable comes wrapped in a circle and is held together by two special little cable clips that are shaped like a flattened U. Does anyone know where I can find those exact clips or something very similar to them?

    Hi, is it possible to switch device only by pressing keyboard key without pressing amlso on mouse?

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  4 місяці тому +2

      When pressing the mode switch button on the keyboard, it only changes the connection for the keyboard.
      If you also want your mouse to change connection, you'll first have to make sure your mouse has an option for multiple connections (Most mice do not. It's mostly higher-end mice that do), and you'll have to press the mode switch button on your mouse separately.
      While it might be possible for someone to configure, I'm not aware of a way that one button can switch both the keyboard and mouse at once.

    Hi and thank you for the review. A question: Does it have a wake-up delay like the Microsoft Surface keyboard does? Or does it work instantly after the keyboard have been in "sleep" mode?

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  Рік тому +1

      The light may turn off if you haven’t pressed any keys for a few minutes, but the keys will still work when you press them, and the light will then come back on.
      Sometimes if you leave your computer, and it hibernates for hours, you may have to power the keyboard off and back on, but usually it pairs again immediately right there.

    Nice Video. I have a question - Do you know if the lights above the device connect button (USB Dongle, BT1, BT2) constantly stay illuminated, so I know which device I'm connected to just by looking at the keyboard? or do they disappear after the connections been established?

    • @liammiller.design
      @liammiller.design  Рік тому +2

      The button does not stay illuminated, but if you press it once, it shows you which connection is active. If you press it again, that is when the connection changes. At 3:44 you can see this demonstrated. :)

      It's night and day, 900 is way better. The 900 scissor keys have just enough travel distance, whereas the 700 felt too deep. But if you're a mechanical kb enthusiast, there's probably better mechanical kbs from logitech than the 700. The 700 feels kinda cheap and clunky.

But I guess, since most of us don't need to access the Bios every 5 minutes but rather every once in a while, it's okay to swap the dongle in case it's needed seomwhere else. I am currently using a the Cherry KC 6000 Slim. It's wired but it has also a wirless version now. Wondering if i should get this or the dell. There is a weird problem with the Cherry and that is the Shift Key. The right shift key has a too short activation time, resulting in many accidenlty small keys when wanting to write captial letters. This is hard coded on the board. Never experienced this with any other keyboard, so im unsure about the "new" wireless version of it.

My mechanical RGB keyboard is very easy to type on, and sure, it's missing some of features of this one (hand sense, and Zoom buttons), but over all, this kind of keyboard is strictly for typists, and not someone who both types AND games, like me.
