    I love the idea of a hidden switch also. Someone steals the bike they get down the road as far as the carburetor bowl full will take them. Too funny when it stops running and the owner is beating someone's ass!

    Run a one way check valve and two pumps inline and that helps with fuel to carb

  • @ZCRAIZED1
    @ZCRAIZED1 7 місяців тому +1

    It would be nice to find a pressure switch that could be adjusted to the pressure you want. That way the pumps doesnt have to run all the time. Get up to pressure and shut off. I'm guessing air in the bowl could be an issue.

    Petrol electric pumps all perish
    think the one's that last longer are with seals made of Neoprene
    that's why they like using vacuum pumps I would fit a
    one way valve would work better
    leaving carburettor full then when bike running plenty time for vacuum what do you think 🤔

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  3 місяці тому

      Ya I never even thought of the valve until it was too late. LOL. I still have 1 bike on vacuum and have no issues with it. I had to put electric on the nitrous one as it is a wet system and needs to spray fuel. But reliability... so far so good. I have hundreds of thousands of miles on my car electric pump but it don't cost $20. LOL

      I have been pretty happy with everything I have got from rolling wrench. I use NCY Store, RW and other places. Who ever is cheapest after shipping. LOL. I know the 1 way valve is a good fix, but they run so much better with that pump. These things really should be gravity fed.

    Wanted to pass on some info on the pump. The ideal situation would be to have a return system that send back excess fuel to the tank. This would be hard to do without performing major surgery or adding a lot of extra pieces. When the float bowl is full your pump is dead heading against the float needle. On pumps this can be bad cause it will make seals fail and add extra heat. I assume the pump you have is a canned motor pump, which means no traditional seal. Only issue you may have is a little excess heat and possible premature failure of the pump. However, with as cheap as they are that’s not a big deal. In the end no comment to change just wanted to pass this info along. Hope you don’t mind the long winded explanation.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  7 місяців тому

      Thanks and I agree 100%. So I would like to make a vacuum pump with it going to a small supply tank and the supply tank would gravity feed the carb. This would solve the issues of vacuum system and be cheap and east. And if you have dead battery you can still get home.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  2 місяці тому

      Should be no need for it. Gravity is way faster than electric. But the answer is yes. The pump has no clue where the fuel is coming from. It would still work fine.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  16 днів тому

      I think it is 5/16" I use those fuel filters that take multiple size hoses in a step down fashion as adapters to go from different size hoses. There is no standard on these maddog hoses and when they get hot and harden over time they start leaking at the areas where the hose is too big for the barb.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  16 днів тому

      I think the fuel tank takes the bigger hose than the carb. The fuel pump takes even a bigger hose. I use armorall or soap and force the smaller hose on those.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  16 днів тому +1

      @headwaystudio the keihin had those tube's coming out the too for overflow and those are to holes in top of the float bowl. The pump should push fuel in the bowl and the air should go out those tubes. So it shoukd work. My lines never look full of gas and always appear empty.
