Make a Unique Keygroup Instrument with your Voice - Akai Force/MPC

- Today we'll walk through making a totally unique keygroup instrument on the Akai Force. It's unique because we'll be using some samples recorded directly into the Force using a microphone! In this demo, we create a pad type sound, but there's a lot of possibility here for making other kinds of sounds too - leads, basses, percussive sounds. This demo is on the Force, although the workflow is very similar on the MPC.
Just realized I never posted after watching this.. It's such a cool idea and I also learned a ton of little tricks in this tutorial, thank you!
Wave Step seq now. LOL. :) A kind person pointed me to your videos. I want to personally thank you for sharing these very creative ideas. I purchased a Key 61 a few days ago. If I hadn't, no doubt I would have liked the Force better. I had no idea it had the OLED Qlinks. :( You have me thinking that I might end up staying the MPC hardware world for a while. Having a MPC X SE, along with the Key 61, and now your insightful ideas? Endless, NONE DAW, monster synth! Impressive stuff.
Super sound design. Merci beaucoup
Nice to see you're back Joe!
This is the type of video we need more of. Dope way to flip 2 sounds you made from yourself. If you want it sound more nasty turn Wrap & mess wit the % & the BPM of the sample if you got BPM-Sync on.
Thanks @Poetic-Noise. You know, I think I've trained my fingers to stay clear of that Warp button. Never thought to use it to kind of mangle stuff on purpose. I'll check it out!
@joefilbrun Yeah, sometimes you gotta get you're Hip-Hop on & use stuff in cool ways it wasn't made to be used.
This is killer. The Force is such a powerful tool.
Big help thanks Joe …keep it up
Nice!
I'm loving your tutorials ❤
Thanks @trespelos!
Oh hell yea, can't wait to watch this after work!
Hey @vertigev, hope it was worth the wait and you got something out of it!
Very nice! I haven't tried this type of thing out and you have sparked my interest :D
You should give it a go. It's actually pretty fun to see what you can make of it. And as you probably noticed, the samples can be kind of dodgy and still give you a nice result. ;-)
Nice work
Thanks, @tonybarber3535! And thanks for watching.
I really like your video’s. They show creative non-standard ways of using the device. I have a question: If you buy the device, which plugins are really offering a lot of functionality that could not be done without the plugin? I get the feeling that a lot of the synth instruments duplicate each other?
Hi, 😊 I’ve got a question about converting sf2 (soundFont) format from a computer to the Akai Force. Do you think I should sample each notes or 1/3 ?
Got to see if still have the Sarah's ARR1 sample somewhere.
Hey @koraamis5568, definitely try it out. Good fun to be had here, and sometimes you'll surprise yourself with what you can make it into. Thanks for watching!
like an sk-1 or vss-30 on steroids
Hey @jaymack7062, haha yeah I guess so. Can't say I owned either of those machines, but I bet they'd still be fun.
Thats pretty cool, I wanna try this with "found sounds".
Do you ever make drones with the force?
Hey @Drozas91. Yeah, found sounds would be great with this kind of technique. I do make drones with the Force sometime. Maybe I'll do a video on that. My favorite plugin to do it with is OPx-4 since there are so many ways to change the timbre with the various modulation sources. Thanks for watching!
@@joefilbrun Look forward to it or any other of your videos! Always insightful.
Joe watch " Friday night funkin" the game this is the how the kids use this technique or did you see this already?
Hey @stevewoywitka3258, nope never heard of that. I'll check it out!
