Given the real life circumstances with Danny Masterson, why? Given both that and that That '90s Show ended Jackie and Fez in a rather egregious manner just to put her back with Kelso again, even if they had put her back together with Hyde in Season 8, fans would've still gotten their hearts ripped out again anyway. Unfortunately, it was inevitable either way.
His real life circumstances mean Jackie would've cheated on Hyde instead of Fez with Kelso. It was gonna go wrong either way. In this case, it's probably preferable because you didn't that good thing tarnished by writing that had to avoid the real life circumstances of what happened.
@@futuremovieactor "Jackie would've cheated on Hyde instead of Fez with Kelso" - like this kind of lousy writing (Jackie back with Kelso in That '90s Show, basically just because Kutcher and Kunis are married now, let's not pretend there is more logic behind this decision) would be the only way to link both shows. One lousy writing is no excuse for other lousy writing, just as Masterson's "real life circumstances" don't change the fact that sitcom characters of Hyde and Jackie, even against all odds, were probably the best couple on that show (definitely better than Jackie and Kelso or Jackie and Fez) and should have ended up together.
Why they never ended up together I will never understand; basically season 8 doesn’t exist or Jackie and Hyde ending up together should have happened, that would have made it better than how it was. New writers took over for the final season, they didn’t like Jackie and Hyde as a couple and after everything they’d been through, they just broke them up and had them hate each other like they’d never been together and had never happened. Pairing her up with Fez was one of the worst endings for the show, they hardly had a relationship in the end anyway. Jackie and Hyde were meant to be together.
The new writers did NOT know how to keep their audience happy since they split up jackie & hyde, they wrote what they wanted to see not what the fans wanted. I only watched season 8 once in hopes they'd get back together
It means if they had put Jackie and Hyde back together in Season 8 instead of her with Fez, that would've meant ripping the audience/fans hearts out anyway when Danny Masterson's real life troubles meant worrying Hyde out as Jackie having cheated on him with Kelso. A loss either way, but this at least doesn't ruin the good thing that was already wrecked to begin with.

I don't know why people hate Fez and Jackie. Even though it took them until the penultimate episode of the final season and Jackie constantly rejecting him, deep down she seemed to enjoy his company. For example, the disco and the roller skating episodes and the episode where Donna points out Jackie likes Fez when she was jealous of Fez's girlfriend.
jackie dating fez makes sense in the sense that in i think season 6 when she was 'deciding' between hyde and kelso she said its nice to feel needed. and she knows explicitly how fez feels about her so he was safe. it also explains why she got back together with kelso even after he cheats on her constantly and didnt feel remorse
Zero chemistry, unlike what she had with Hyde. Fez and Jackie were more like brother and sister. Jackie and Hyde were a fan-favourite couple and the original writers intended for them to be endgame. Most of the fan fiction that came out through the years after the show closed was about Jackie and Hyde.
That's not what the writers/director said on the DVDs. They said it was the plan from the beginning of the show to have them end up together. In any case you're in the minority when you say you're glad they didn't end up together. If Danny didn't have his legal issues, they probably would have corrected the disaster that was Season 8 and had them together in That 90's Show, as that's what the fans wanted.
