Just discovering this amazing man and artist. His intelligence is instinctual and metaphysical.
That an artist, in this day and age, can philosophize as he does, makes listening as well as viewing an ecstatic experience.
I feel thrown back to the last century, saturated with the minds, hearts, awareness and courage of European and American artists.
William Kentridge is, like them, intrepid, ground-breaking, natural, with a depth of feeling I have terribly missed.
Thank you for this wonderful documentary.

I first came across Kentridge's work at the Seattle Art Museum when I started working there in 2007; then a piece with the mirror was part of a Frye exhibition on puppets and animation; then saw his production of THE RETURN OF ULYSSES. Great to see his processes.

“The seriousness of play”. A very interesting film. I know he is South African but his voice is so reminds me of Anthony Hopkins.
