This might be the greatest punk rock anthem ever recorded. I bought the album when it first came out and have been a fan ever since. I am 69 now, but Holly will never, ever get old.

Holly and the Italians were one of the very best rock bands of the 70s/80s that were never given an opportunity to access mass markets. There was no UA-cam, you either got a major record label contract or faded into oblivion. A real tragedy, and that goes for the Nuns while I'm at it.

Good things come to those who wait (and search frequently). Thanks for this priceless document featuring the self-confessed "Gerald Ford of guitar playing" (see cast). The British papers built Holly up and knocked her down again in the span of a few short months, but we've never forgotten her contributions. Vastly underrated. Thanks again, BikingDirect.

Way ahead of her time, total inspiration to to me as a musician. And totally hot on top of every thing else. Long live Holly and the Italians.

Wow - I didn't know she did Whistle Test. Saw her in London, probably 80-81, at the Nashville Rooms in West Kensington, I think. She was completely amazing. To this day that show at the Nashville and her kick-ass performance remains one of the best I ever saw (and that list includes a lot of acts!). I don't understand why she didn't become huge. Virgin Records had a superstar on their hands - I wonder what went wrong.

While Beat Club and Shindig had many awesome performances, no TV rock show can even come close to what OGWT produced. The performances were raw, from the heart, soulful, and so unique.
I wish some cable network would start showing Whistle Test so I don't have to keep searching uTube for these performances!!!!

i have to laugh at how holly was chewing gum during the performance, lol...particularly considering that she was the lead singer. that could have gone south in a hurry, but thankfully it didn't. then there was the left leg in a cast, to boot. but she didn't even flinch. this was in 1980 OR '8. she was a bit of a pioneer as a woman fronting a rock band, especially playing early alternative stuff. very glad to have seen this, just wish the ending wasn't cut off.

Fantastic songs by Holly And The Italians (Holly Beth Vincent). Not sure if Holly is still touring, but I would agree that Holly could have been just as big, if not bigger, than the Pretenders!
