What Megan is doing with this snake theme is what should have been done with "Gag City". Megan has seamlessly incorporated the theme into her song titles, lyrics and visuals. Independently. She isn't just doing what needs to be done, she's doing it better, and I think that's what's really pissing the girls off!
Gag City is Nicki’s Tour title & will be the concept for the music videos. It’s just not out yet. Megan did the snake theme similar to Taylor Swift Reputation era.

To my knowledge of what the difference is: it seems that management handles all her business deals (not all of them necessarily pertaining to music). So Roc more than likely helps secure her movie roles, her brand collabs, and make-up deals.
A label is purely music based and the artist that is signed to one must uphold their end of the deal so that way the label secures a profit off said artist. The problem with 1501 (Meg's old label) is that it was verrrry predatory, amd it was revealed and proven through court that Carl Crawford (the label's owner) wasn't really upholding his end of the deal (blowing money and not investing back into her).
So now since Megan is considered an independent artist (meaning no label). EVERY decision she makes surrounding her (keyword: new) music goes through HER. EVERY penny she makes off her new music going forward goes to HER.
Tbh, Megan's previous label situation is not uncommon, but because of the digital age, more and more artists are starting to take the plunge into independence so they can have creative freedom and see the full amount they earn.
