Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Its been a huge inspiration to me. Especially this particular story. I'm 20 years old and have done nothing but work in the woods out here in the mountains of oregon. I lost my job due to lack of work and haven't been able to find anything so I'm on whits end when it comes to money so this story hits real deep and gives me motivation not to give up. Ive always dreamed of running equipment in the woods since I was younger and ive picked up knowledge here and there but not enough for full time. Thank you for being someone I can look up to. No matter where life takes me im gonna relocate and find my dream opportunity. Thank you again for all the videos and hard work you put out.

Most in our business probably came up the same way, with nothing and had to do whatever it takes. I remember driving the service truck at 12 years old so Dad could drive the log truck. Thanks for the stories because they remind me of where I have come from. look forward to more!

Great message that all teenagers need to hear. I have been in the same boat helping my dad when I was young. I just hope that I teach my son how working for things is always better than having them handed too you.

John would've done two loads. Ha Ha! Thanks for sharing Tim! I used to skip school to help my Dad out building houses. I'd show up about half way through the school day, He'd just glare at me and tell me to get to work.

Great story man! We've all done stuff that was probably not a great idea but it worked out in the end! My dad was logging when I was a teenager and he would work all day and load up another load and run it to the mill. They would leave the loader out at the mill and let people unload after hours. I would ride with dad on the last load and while I unloaded the truck dad would sleep in the sleeper of the truck. When I got it unloaded I would paint our name on the logs at the mill so they knew who brought them. And then I would drive the truck home while dad slept. I was 16 and it was a 1979 International Transtar Cab-over 400 big cam Cummins 13spd. At the time we were farming full time too.

A very touching story, a calculated risk that worked and from the way Mr Cotontop snr reacted when you told him of the "deed" was the reaction of a proud father. He didn't have to say much as the love and respect of father and son was there. When I watched the video of dad in the skidder there was a wise man driving, taking the humour of his son about what not to do on camera, a great guy. You are very fortunate to be in such a close and amiable family who can work and play together, awesome!!!

Me and my brother had an 88 international with a big cam 400 and single 5 1/2 in straight pipe. We used to hall logs past a little league field. The kids plug their ears and the parents flip us the bird. Lol good times

The wood mills have every body on quotes right now it's hard for anyone to make money. You did what you thought was right. Your dad may have never said anything bit deep down i am sure he is very thankful for what you and kevin did. You knew something had to be paid and you did what you knew to do to get it done. Be safe have a great day

We are nearly the same age and boy I have done the same for my Dad. I'm a 4th generation farmer in S.C. Due to the Flood of 15' we lost all 3 crops in the same year. It's been a tough row to hoe. Keep the videos coming. Look forward to them each day! Keep'em straight down there and get tired, get frustrated but NEVER give up. Peace.

Cool message, not logging only, but a life message. Anyone can do well when the going is good, it is how we are when the chips are down that counts and I reckon that is what shapes us you know? Fortitude I guess is what I mean.
