I'm not sure, personally, but this is the only one I can identify that does. Either way, kudos to him for recounting the story of the Tay Bridge disaster so accurately, unlike this film adaptation. He even got the names of the driver, fireman and guard right (David Mitchell, John Marshall and David MacBeth respectively), and the only real error he made was writing that the bridge was made of steel - in fact, it was its spindly cast/wrought iron construction, among other factors, that brought about its downfall.
The film is much less harsh than the book, which is a masterpiece, as are all of A.J.Cronin's novels. Thankyou anyway for the upload.
Most of Cronin's novels do have a doctor's character in them, because Cronin himself was a practicing physician before he became a novelist.
@romanticallyinclined It was a book seller who mentioned it. Just thought I'd ask, as I'm not familiar with the books.
in which part does Dennis appear ?
I don´t remember a ball there, only, that mary goes with her friend to a market.
Margaret Lockwood was meant to play the Deborah Kerr role.
Is it true that all AJ Cronin novels have a train wreck in them?
