CA Soppit who read all the Royal records of Manipur identitied the "Old Kukis" as people who came in 16th century from Burma. These old kukis are Anal, Chiru, Langa etc. who now identify as "naga". while the "New Kukis" - Thadou, Hmar, Vaiphei, Lushei, Gangte migrated to Manipur only during the first half of the 19th century. W. McCullough in his account published in 1859 as well as R. B. Pemberton in his Report on Eastern Frontier of British Empire which is basically North East India, published in 1835 also suggest large migration of Kuki-Chin tribes in Manipur at the start of 19th Century and then towards Assam in Dima Hasao region. These tribes only have an existence of 200 years in this region.

N.C.Hills was bifricated from United Cachar district which was part of erstwhile Cachar district... Northern Cachar Hill was given to Senapati Tularam and Cachar remained with Raja Govinda Hasnusha... Dima Hasao literally means Dimasa hill and North Cachar Hill also means Kachari hill... So I think both the nomenclature carry the same meaning since Dimasa are part of greater Kachari ethnic...

We all know ,we are put together in a district for better administration . All tribe in the district want their own administration when it come to self determination and preservation but that cannot be implemented when it come to perspective of good public administration in the district due to lack of integral thought for the diversity. 21 century now , every citizen is aware of ever step that move around in the district , the glimpse and destination of integrity in the district is fully aggressive , every tribe is possessive for their own interests instead of bringing peace . To answer this, my answer would be... 1, IPF communities could bear the pain of not getting govt. Job, contract work and other developmental works under N.C Hills Autonomous Council but we could not bear the pain of losing our identity because NC Hills district name was a neutral name and inclusive one . However, Dima Hasao District is not an inclusive name and the name itself is a communal one. And the main reason of forming IPF was due to change of name of district nomenclature from NC Hills district to Dima Hasao and not due to non develop of IPF areas. 2, IPF doesn't have faith in N.C Hills autonomous Council because delimitation of MAC constitucies was not done proportionately in the past without properly considering the IPF communities. Example : Haflong constituency have more than 20,000 Voters but has only one constituency whereas Maibang Town has 2 constituencies with less than 10,000 Voters. Jatinga, Mahur, Harangajao etc. have also more than 7000 Voters but has only one representative each. So, when the very council representing it's people is without proportionate representation then how can expect the support of the Council to get our favour. It is also to be noted clearly that State Govt. has the full authority and power to bifurcate the district under 6th scheduled and has also the power to create a seperate autonomous council after recommendations by state govt. and due approval from the central govt. Lots more to say....
Then also protest to change assam state name to something else.. Assam comes from Assamese.. This is rule of majority.. And it's not communal.. It's a respect to the history of the district.. Can't respect thats okay.. and only a district name is changed.. Not any council portfolio or something.. Its your negative mind!!
The name North Cacher Hills also contains the Dimasa wording, see the word Cachar originate from Kachari Or Cachari, the district of Cachar took the name from the Dimasa Cachari/Kachari kingdom, so what is the problem with the name Dima Hasao? Personally I know from Dispur only this discord is created.

And this is what our District get in return? A bifurcation demand by harbouring other tribes.. We all agree there's injustice, job crisis, but to demand a separate district by singling out the Dimasas who gave them a safe place from violence is unacceptable! What is nagaland for? Mizoram? A large number of kukis live in Manipur? Why demand so much on communal basis

North cachar hills means North Dimasa hills but this is in English. Dima Hasao means "Dimasa hills" but in native language. They have the same meaning. So many people are not aware of this and IPF is trying to manipulate people by calling this as a name change.

You are 100% right. All tribes under Dimahasao enjoy the same status and, the constitution is unbiased. If the constitutional framework is exceptionally good, and there are some thing inequitable, we can sort it out by knowing the causes. The peaceful coexistence in Dimahasao and its Council is contaminated by people who play favoritism in Dimahasao politics. Start other policy can never solve the proplem. Proplem comes after problem if we let slip the causes.

N.C.Hills was bifricated from United Cachar district which was part of erstwhile Cachar district... Northern Cachar Hill was given to Senapati Tularam and Cachar remained with Raja Govinda Hasnusha... Dima Hasao literally means Dimasa hill and North Cachar Hill also means Kachari hill... So I think both the nomenclature carry the same meaning since Dimasa are part of greater Kachari ethnic...

We all know ,we are put together in a district for better administration . All tribe in the district want their own administration when it come to self determination and preservation but that cannot be implemented when it come to perspective of good public administration in the district due to lack of integral thought for the diversity. 21 century now , every citizen is aware of ever step that move around in the district , the glimpse and destination of integrity in the district is fully aggressive , every tribe is possessive for their own interests instead of bringing peace . This barbaric atmosphere happen because of our uneducated politicians, chamcha follower, who rule the district in puppet in the midst of some mastermind not by: fraternity, liberty, integrity and serenity of democratic government. There is a moral and ethics in the theory of using power . We always can't go back to history and bring our grievance to solve the present problem ,there are thousands of methods to bring changes . To answer this, my answer would be...
1, IPF communities could bear the pain of not getting govt. Job, contract work and other developmental works under N.C Hills Autonomous Council but we could not bear the pain of losing our identity because NC Hills district name was a neutral name and inclusive one . However, Dima Hasao District is not an inclusive name and the name itself is a communal one.
And the main reason of forming IPF was due to change of name of district nomenclature from NC Hills district to Dima Hasao and not due to non develop of IPF areas.
2, IPF doesn't have faith in N.C Hills autonomous Council because delimitation of MAC constitucies was not done proportionately in the past without properly considering the IPF communities.
Example : Haflong constituency have more than 20,000 Voters but has only one constituency whereas Maibang Town has 2 constituencies with less than 10,000 Voters. Jatinga, Mahur, Harangajao etc. have also more than 7000 Voters but has only one representative each.
So, when the very council representing it's people is without proportionate representation then how can expect the support of the Council to get our favour.
It is also to be noted clearly that State Govt. has the full authority and power to bifurcate the district under 6th scheduled and has also the power to create a seperate autonomous council after recommendations by state govt. and due approval from the central govt.

Then also protest to change assam state name to something else.. Assam comes from Assamese.. This is rule of majority.. And it's not communal.. It's a respect to the history of the district.. Can't respect thats okay.. and only a district name is changed.. Not any council portfolio or something.. Its your negative mind!!

Talking about changing the name of the district, North Cachar hills itself means kachari kingdom, such a misguided people y'all are. Have you all heard places named *Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Karbi Anglong, Khasi Hills, Garo Hill* there people don't ask for bifurcation.
