Bridges are your best bet for turrets. Humvee's spawn there at those roadblocks.

I endorse the photojournalist idea. Lots of RP motivation to take risks & no one uses the selfie and other camera options nearly enough. They generate great descriptions. Pair it with the in game diary for extra cool RP points. Edit: so many typos...
Omg if you haven't seen the selfie system it's so cool! I haven't played around with it myself but I've seen some fun screenshots on Reddit!
It kind of procedurally generates a text description of the scene like art in Dwarf Fortress or RimWorld if you're familiar (kinda) wish I could pull a screenshot or quote right now! Gotta play later and give it a try.
So I'd love to see you play a character where you try and fill up your photobook and collect all the monster entries!

20 minutes of me thinking “there’s no way he’s actually gonna make the mistake of getting irradiated, right?” And you said you didn’t know how it even works and I thought oh good he’s just joking right? Cause 25 minutes in and you’re talking about how you know dreams factor in so it’s just a joke where you basically went out of the way to get hooked on benzos and willfully made th e bad decision to get irradiated to make a joke right? He wouldn’t outright risk death to get one of the undesirable bad mutations that come from radiation, right? He’s surely not going to actually risk getting one of the radiation-induced negative mutations like irreparable where he could sleep for decades and his body wouldn’t so much as heal a papercut, anymore, right? Surely, Marc would be smart enough to think (in character) if I want superpowers to be the best food person I can be, surely the answer lies in one of the many government labs I’ve heard about opening up in the times leading up to the cataclysm. Mayhe I’ll find some kind of syringe full of cool government super science liquid like one that makes me super strong smart and agile, with very few risks of downsides. Or maybe one that makes me powerful like a bear; with claws and night vision and fur and a 9 foot tall 500 pounds of solid muscle body that can literally shrugboff hits like they’re nothing; even from brutes! I imagine after injecting that maybe my body would grow in my sleep and I would dream of something like having a rough furry feeling and maybe having an urge to hibernate for the upcoming winter (it’s spring lmao)
