I just did it! I bought this watch. I was searching for a long time, watched many reviews on many watches out there, but only this one stuck in me. It’s a beautiful timepiece for everyday use, sits perfectly on my 7.2 inch wrist, and your review helped me very much, thank you so much my friend!
Definitely a great everyday wear! This watch is very versatile. And a gorgeous dial to boot! Glad I could help you gravitate towards this Seiko...enjoy!
@@WatchWitt Your variant with the 'distressed finish' is unusual and special. Reminds me of the discontinued classic Seiko SUS 4S15 military 'high beat' (28,800bph) from the 90s.
Very funny, I had literally just bought this exact watch online the day you posted it haha, glad to see you don't have too many complaints. My heart jumped a bit seeing you upload this video thinking "WHAT IF HE SAYS IT'S AWFUL?" 😛
Haha! Well, even if I did, it's just an opinion. I try to convey a sense of the things I like and don't like, so you can get a feel for things you may agree or disagree with me on. But this watch is a banger, as you now know!
I just got this a few days ago on sale at my local mall, and goddamn did it catch my eye as I was picking out watches that day. It's subtle yet elegant despite the fact that it's a field watch!
@@WatchWitt It goes well with my formal AND my casual style. Some watches can't do both. Great review btw, your explanation behind the "stonewash" detail really made me appreciate this piece even more. Absurdly worth it!
My nice Omega watch is away being serviced and I've opted for one of these as a "temporary" watch whilst the Omega is out for the service. I have a feeling i'm going to wear it more often though even when the omega gets back. It's a great looking watch, nearly indestructible, and you're not going to get robbed for it!
Hello, I have just started with watches. I'm looking for my first mechanical/ automatic watch! I need a sturdy work watch, as I'm not the most careful person ever! Furthermore, I really like this watch, but I live in Sweden and with shipping this watch costs $300 is it still worth it at that price? Have looked at local dealers and they have the same price.
This would make an excellent first automatic watch! Many of the Seiko 5’s would. Keep in mind that mechanical watches are more delicate when it comes to being knocked around, though. At $300 I think this is still a great watch, but just not “bargain.” The original MSRP is $295 USD. Make sure you check my shopping link (generated by UA-cam) for Jomashop…it’s $170 USD right now. They advertise free shipping too, but not sure if that includes Sweden. Good luck…check back in here when you get something!
I put that info in the video description. K1 is not made in Japan. You'll usually see the K1's a little cheaper. There's no difference to the build or aesthetics.
No worries. I meant to talk about it in the video but forgot...so at least put it in the description. Goes for all models of Seiko when you see K1. An immediate way to tell, if the retailer doesn't show K1 at the end of the reference number, is to look at the dial. K1 WON'T have "Made in Japan" printed on the dial.
No, it's just a matter of preference. I mean MAYBE in 20 or 30 years the Made in Japan versions could be more collectible? Who knows? But I doubt anyone could tell the build quality or difference without that label.
It does appear pretty thick, with the domed crystal...adds a lot of height. But the lugs are relatively short in my opinion. Maybe check out the smaller options I list at the end of the video, but I think they're still going to be thick...

Among the many field watches from other brands out there, this Seiko 5 Field dial design & proportions is the best for me.
It's quietly a fantastic watch! I think the price is lower than MSRP because they weren't selling, but now everyone is catching on at the lower price.

@96kyh I wasn't familiar with that Seiko...just looked it up and there's definitely a similarity to the case finish. Thanks for sharing!
Such a classic looking watch for $100! 🤯 And great photography in the vid ❤
Like I said in the Top Tier Ticker video, it takes me back to the heyday of affordable Seiko watches! Thanks for the compliment!
Gives it a nice tooly look with that case finish. Thanks for the vid!
Definitely, but from a distance it just appears matte, or sandblasted...so not over the top!

I have one of those. It's nice, I really like it!
I was worried the dial might be too textured when I bought it, but was extremely happy upon first sight!
I bought this watch, movt is Malaysia, assembled in china. Will wait n see
It will be fine! Great watch right?!

Right?! It dresses up easily, which is surprising for the case finishing, too.

Absolutely! This is a beautiful Seiko, that will definitely find wear time over your Omega! Great choice.

anyone know the difference between the SRPG39K1 and SRPG39? Are they pretty much the same?

Can you put a nice tan leather strap on that watch and make a short vid 🙂🙂🙂
Haha! This isn't Only Fans! 😂 That would look great. Ironically I don't think I have a strap like that in this size, unless it's in this video.....
Dial is exceptional but the thickness, long lugs huge turned down for me
