Hi how are you?

1:17 sounds like a father calling out to find his son Mike in the store and his son responding to his voice
that brings back painful memories from my distant past
Loll
that's the whole trick to it recognizing sounds and rhythm like in music not counting dots and dashes you don't have time for that at even 5 words a minute
I count the dits at 20!
@@mariostar13 same here! Had to turn my trainer on to 35+ wpm for single characters
I'm trying to teach myself Morse code. As a former drummer, I hear them all as rhythms. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you.

but, why is it important to learn the Morse Code in the 21Century? It is not important!! Thats my mind! The internet is much important! It is just for Fun, I think.
hugo I don't know it could be important for future careers or if you're in trouble and have like a walkie talkie
In case you want to be a Pilot, an Astronaut or a Ships Captain for instance, they all have to learn how to use Morse Code (C.W.) in case of communications failure. There are many ways to send Code when you're "Chips" are down, but then again, if you can't think of any there's no point in taxing you're tiny brain! Thanks Phil K.
hugo hostages use Morse code to get help :/
You'll know when you need it
I never thought I'd know the rhythm of the code. Thank you, Phil!
now you know "The Rhythm of the Code"

for the first time in my 50 years, i feel like I could possibly learn morse code. this is brilliant.
I leaned code 45 years ago and still use it. This is awesome. Very catchy!
This is hilarious and quite the earworm. First heard it on shortwave pirate radio several years ago. It's like Fred Schneider of the B-52s got his ham radio license and wrote a song about it. ;)
I find Morse Code and other secret code "languages" EXTREMELY interesting, and learning with music really makes it entertaining! :D
If only learning morse code was that easy. But at least this song is great for memorizing the phonetic alphabet
New writing systems are much harder.
How I managed to end up able to read Hiragana and Katakana, but still not be able to understand Morse code escapes me.
R.I.P John Abbott this book and him will be missed
Thanks this helps more than you know
This song has helped thousands of amateur radio operatior learn or improve their code skills

Brilliant!
Phil, thank you very much. This creative song took me to my childhood. My father was a soldier and one of their mission was deciphering these codes. I remembered those summer holidays, which he used to decipher these codes to entertain me... And at the end he always told that "this means this is the end of the message boy"... Thanks again. :)
+waypoint74 Very interesting story!
I listened to this four times straight. I can now read Morse from W1AW at 12 WPM only a day later. It works!
Congratulations! You did great! It works because The Rhythm of the Code makes learning Morse Code "logical." The human brain seeks logic and when it is found the data is easily memorized. Thank you for your comment.
I love it, I am determined to learn MC and ordered your CD!
Wow this is how I learned morse code and got this part of my amateur radio license back in '94!!! I love this thing we have called the internet! I was explaining morse code to my finance and how I learned it and decided to search for it since I only had it on a cassette.
Thanks this made it so easy to learn and I will be using this again to refresh my memory to help get my amateur radio license again!!!
Thanks doc

This is fantastic! Adding this to my arsenal of kid-friendly ham radio tools. :)
