    Went scouting for black morel mushrooms in southern Colorado with my friend Shane. Cooked up some angus beef ribeye steaks with vidalia onions on the campfire.

    I sure wish we could have a little rock ring fire here. In the Black Hills of South Dakota any open fire is illegal unless in a designated metal ring or a portable brazier (i.e. portable fire pit)

      Yeah it’s always nice to have a little fire to kick back to.. fortunately we were in a area that was not under a fire ban. Thanks for watching!

    When the meat is done next time try dumping the onions back in the pan to soak up the pan juices, y’all did a good job, look delish!!

    I found a black morel spot a couple weeks ago! Would love to share it with you guys for some other morel spots. But I don't think there'd be any there anymore, they're likely fruiting higher up now.

    The item you put the xx’s in. Isn’t that one of the woody bracket fungi?

    • @OutdoorsInspired
      @OutdoorsInspired  4 роки тому +2

      I believe it’s called Ganoderma applanatum. It is a bracket mushroom. Thanks for watching!

    NO MORELS???
    Curious what county??? NO fire ban???
    I was down there last week... Tuesday thru Thursday camping and looking for blacks. Went thru that "evil" canyon in one of your other videos and hiked up into the forest... NO MORELS!!! Looked for 3 days, only saw some old and buggy oyster mushrooms. Hasn't been a good year so far.

    • @OutdoorsInspired
      @OutdoorsInspired  4 роки тому +1

      No no morels unfortunately, haven’t got enough rain I guess. This was in southern Colorado, Rio Grande County. No fire restrictions there. Thanks for watching!

      @@OutdoorsInspired Cool that you got out. The forest West of that canyon is bone dry, no moving water either, just stagnant pools. Good luck to you, we can always look forward to some King Boletes later in the year!

      TwentyOneTwelve yeah I went to devils canyon the week before last to check it out and it was dry. Maybe I’ll go back this week sometime to check it again..

      @@OutdoorsInspired Good luck. TAKE WATER! There was two stagnant pools in the rocks of the canyon, no other water. I know a few spots, higher up, outside Co. Spgs. I'm gonna check this week for morels. Being semi-retired I'm able to go during the week... less people and easier parking!.
